Hy all, I just wanted to ask if I can actually make a backup or save my actual rom with all my configuration (not the sd card data stuff since I know I can copy paste that in or out ^^) Im actually with a custom rom which is great and I've changed stuff from system/ usr and I would like to be saved as well the real question is..
CAN I MAKE A .ZIP OF EXACTLY WHAT'S IN MY PHONE RIGHT NOW? A PERSONAL ROM WHITH ALL THE CONFIG SAVED?
Thank you for the help ^^ did the MAYUS for the people that don't want to read a lot
Of course you can. It`s called nandroid back-up. You can find it in your custom recovery.

Hi everyone,
I'm going to be flashing the myHero or Cyanognen ROM on my HTC Magic (32A) soon and I was wondering, before I do that, how would I backup the default ringtones/alerts/alarms on the original ROM that came on my phone? I'd like to keep all my sound notifications to be the same whenever I flash the new ROM, just because I've grown used to them now and like them.
your answer Sashimi
it saves or can save tons of settings.
if you need more help with this send me a PM
Create a folder structure like this in your SD card:
\media\audio\ringtones
Copy the ringtones in there, and they will automatically be availble when you flash another rom.
You can do the same thing for \media\audio\notifications and \media\audio\alarms.
You can get the stock ones from \system\media\audio\ringtones. I would use Astro to do the file copy (from Android Market)
Thanks guys! Appreciate the help a lot.
hi,
I just flashed My devise and liked the Rom. But when I made a backup, which is from another rom, Background of the Lockscreen changed into some ****. I mean the screen where the Numbers are and where I Must enter My passwort to unlock the devise.
Does somebody know how I can change that? I tried to copy the folder "Lockscreen" in windows into My storagecard und put it there again after My backup but it didn't change anything.
SO help me Please.
Thanks

If you restored a backup from another ROM you will likely have many more problems than just that, depending on the differences in the builds.
It is never a good idea to restore system files from a different build, even though the backup program will say it can do it, it can- just not correctly.
PIM restorals can also hose up Manila
**Also, this post belongs in the general section or your ROM's thread as it is not related to ROM development.**
But how can I corrext that?
Which file(s) Must I correct?
Help please..

Hardreset or flash again
I've looked all over but can't find a rescue.zip for pimp my rom. I didn't mess my device up, I just want a backup in case. There IS one in my SD card but it won't flash.
So, does anyone have a working rescue.zip?
(YES, I know I'm an idiot for not backing it up)
Why don't you just make a backup in TWRP or CWM?

Because I need to have it as it was, which I don't
So I need someone with an unpimped nexus 7 to download it, back up a rescue package and upload it here so I can download it.
Make a backup of your current ROM.
Install the factory ROM and root it.
Make a backup of that.
Restore your current ROM from the backup in the first step.
Get a copy of both of 'em off the tablet someplace safe.
Easy-peasy.

The rescue pack is not avaliable at the moment. It will be very simple to fix problems by that way, but the pimpmyrom apk has a button to revert changes but doesnt work if you fail in a bootloop.

Pimp my rom beta rescue package
Hey now,
Go to this link & download the rescue package I tweaked. Make sure you create a Rescue zip using the Pimp My Rom Beta.apk (Thanks to Androguide. You Rock Dude) and name that one Resuce(1).zip. Extract my Rescue.zip and make sure you switch the build.props out (You can add whatever build.prop mod you want to it) by Opening the Rescue(1).zip and dragging the file to the extracted Rescue.zip. Make sure you open the rm.sh and change the scripts that correspond to your init.d folder using notepad. Last thing go into sys/cpu/scaling_freq and change those numbers to your numbers or you can deleted that folder all together just make sure you delete (extract sys/cpu.....) out of the updater script. Rezip it and it's ready to flash. Hope that didn't confuse you. Yeah you right!

guys i made edit to my rom as wallpapers and changed some apps with new other apps(gallery..launcher..etc.) i wanna make backup as.zip or .tar so i can install if happend something to my device or i can share it witg my friend ..how can i do that?
thx ?
Use custom recovery like cwm, twrp etc to backup all the things
I'm pretty sure a lot of you knew this, but if you have the Snapdragon S8/+ and want something similar to TWRP backups, flashfire can take a backup of every single partition on your phone.
If you're about to do some dumb **** and think you're going to mess up your phone, take one of these backups.
If you do mess up your phone, the only way to restore the backup is to Odin stock firmware and root again so you can use Flashfire to restore the backup.
Happy messing up your phone everyone!
Do i just select full back up ?
Also what directory does it save to ?
Sory is my questions are stupid or obvious

I would personally do full (unless I know what parts I'd wish to keep). You choose the directory, there will be a flashfire sub. folder & another one that would be your backup
