i dont fully understand your question but ive heard adding welcome.not to storage card will bypass screen alignment. alternatively this is my calibration data if you can enter it in the registry somehow: 504,519 222,220 221,817 793,812 783,217
problem solved:
Hard reset: Press and hold the Left SOFT KEY and Right SOFT KEY, and at the same time, use the stylus to press the RESET button at the bottom of your device. You will be presented with a menu saying 'press SEND to restore factory default, press END to exit', if you press SEND Your device will be set back to factory default settings.than Press "OK" to boot

How to perform a factory reset?

Hey people, Just started setting up my HTC HD2 when i came to the last page of the setup and pressed "finish" the device locked up and crashed :-(
Then when i put the phone back on none of the settings i had set worked and the setup option was no longer there it just went straight through to the UI.
What do i do to pretend it never happened as if im starting again?
Hard reset:
Hold "volume up + volume down and press soft reset button" (all together)
Soft reset button is under battery cover
With the HD2 switched off, press Volume down + Volume up and then briefly press send end key. The bootloader should appear.
To perform a clear storage.
1. On the Home screen, slide to the Settings tab and then tap Security > Factory reset.
2. Enter “1234” and then tap Yes.
so which method is right? lol
both, one is via GUI (windows screen) the other is manual/mechanical way

Soft reset question

Hi,
I've read on here that you can do a soft reset without taking cover off and pressing the actual reset button, but I can't find it again. I've looked on hints and tips, wiki, and searched. Can anyone help please?
Cheers
You'll be needing the TouchX Reset & Wifi shortcuts then
You can get them off this post...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4947950&postcount=1
It creates 2 shortcuts in your start menu. 1 for resetting, and 1 for toggling wifi. You can then add to your quicklinks, if you so wish.
Hope this helps
You could always switch off + switch on but johncmolyneux suggested works as well, although I used a cab so as when I push the switch off button, I get a new menu with various options, including soft reset.
Forgot which one it is though
Snerkler,
Some good suggestions here. Be aware that these will only work if the device is NOT in the grip of death, as I call it.
If it has died then there's no option but to take the back off and either press the little red button or take the battery out.

The 'out of the box' method, without resorting to additional applications is to press and hold the Power key for 3 seconds.
This opens up a context menu which includes 'Power Off'. This is a full 'power off' state with all background processes stopped. Pressing the power button again restarts the phone as in a soft reset.

So turning the phone off and on again is a soft reset???? If that's the case why are there cabs for soft reset, seems a bit strange to me. Wish I'd known that before when installing some of the cabs and taking the back cover off to press the reset button

I know what you mean about the "grip of death" lol. Been there already.
Turning the phone fully off then on again is the same as a soft reset. A simple on/off isn't.
If the device goes through the splash screens on restarting (as after the power button 'hold' switch off) that is a soft reset.
I use a stand alone program called psShutXP which is available on This Page - download the VGA version. It runs as a small Screen Off/Suspend/Power Off utility.

I'm not sure what you mean by fully off, and simple on/off. Are you referring to power off, and sleep? In which case I was referring to power off, ie hold power button and then select power off

Sorry - could you explain that please? Is there a difference between turning the phone off, and "fully" off?? I assume you're not refering to simply switching off the display when you say a "simple on/off", as that's not off at all.
You've lost me there mate.
There are 3 or 4 suspend states- sorry, but I can't remember what all 4 are
There is 'screen off' which simply turns off the screen but keeps all currently active programs running. This is only available by using a 'Display Off' or 'Screen Off' switch such as the 'Toggle Screen' option in Media Player. WFi and GPS remain active in this state.
The next is 'Suspend' by pressing the power button. This turns off the screen and some functions such as WiFi and GPS and some media players also stop working but the phone remains responsive and timed notifications will still work.
Next is the 'full power off' I mentioned which you get by pressing and holding the power button. This turns off all functions, phone features and stops all notifications working.
That's what I was clumsily trying to say when I mentioned that a 'full power off' has the same effect as a soft reset- as opposed to a 'screen off' or 'suspend'.
[Edit: Having tried this a little more, it may be that the HD2 doesn't differentiate between states 1 and 2 ?. Due to the lack of hardware button configuration, Media Player's Screen Toggle can't be assigned to a button. psShutXP's Display Off button works, but on turning on again, the lock screen starts, which shouldn't happed with a simple display switch. ]

OK, thanks for the explanation

Screen won't turn off

I recently (this evening) installed Clockwork Recovery and some other assorted apps, and all of a sudden I can't turn off my screen with the power button. I do have "No-Lock" installed but I did not change any settings and I don't believe it has anything to do with the functioning of the power button to turn the screen on or off. When I long press the "Phone Options" menu still does come up. Has anybody had this happen? Is there an obvious setting I am missing? Thanks to all.

[BUG?] Screenfreeze on Mi 9T

Hi, I have recently purchased a Mi 9T and everything works fine with the phone, but I have this bug, that I didn't see in any post from this forum.
Every time the screens goes black (sleep), it doesn't recognize any input anymore. The phone still works and I can receive calls, notifications and so. I can turn on the camera, make screen captures, and everything, but only because I can do this with the volume and power buttons.
I tried Flashing the device, but when I get to the recovery screen of TWRP for the first time (where you need to make a swipe) the screens goes black for a second and doesn't let me do the swipe.
Any ideas of what the problem can be? (and the solution if it's possible).
If not just press the power button again ...same things happens to me, once i rebot into recovery it goes black and nothing happens, then i need to press the power button to "unlock" the screen again.
had similar experience: sometime after I lock the device (by hitting power button) and screen goes off, it input my finger on the fingerprint sensors it does not recognize and unlock (not even fingerprint animation actually). Other than this I can still hit the power button so that the screen lights up and then unlock with fingerprint.
But, this is just sometimes, not always.
