Just like in topic. Does your NSTR make a sound while refreshing screen? Its very quite (you have to move nook next to your ear ). Im using ereader for about a month but ive noticed this today. Is it normal or maybe I should be afraid?

ur nook body do sound.... or u do root nook and use usb host mode for run sound on ur nook?
Body of Nook... Screen/electronics makes a very quite (but noticable) sound (like a buzzz) while refreshing screen.
It sounds like millions of tiny little balls playing "Red Rover" in a viscous liquid.
Which is what is actually happening.
(Red Rover = children's game where you say "Red rover, red rover, send ... right over".)
Ufff... So it's normal... What a relief!

Hi guys! I just took my new Tab out for a spin for the first time in direct sunlight. It worked pretty much as expected, totally OK!
But there is this smudgy rainbow-colored, oily-looking thing under the screen. Just like when you press to hard on a display with your finger, you know?
Has anyone else got it? I thought it dissapered but I realised it was the sun that had gone so it's probably still there. I suspect I will have a hard time getting the bestbuy staff to realise what I even mean. I'm just her on vaccation and english isnt my native language. Can you somehow see the effect without the sun? Kinda of cloudy today and I'm leaving on thursday
Should I even bother? Will it get worse? Will it dissappear?
Could that be the liquid crystal layer?
It's in the center of the screen and maybe a cm in diameter, growing and shrinking while you touch (other and that area of) the display. Oily, transluscent. Only visible in direct sunligt.
Last Sunday my wife and I are in the car I went out while she's playing with it.when I came back she's done and I pick it up, I saw this like an oily stuff like what u said.I ask her if she accidentally push it hard she said no.u can see it clear under the sun.I panic and I decided to call bestbuy regarding exchanging my tab. Then my wife took a look on it she hold it using her thumb in the side then suddenly its gone.its like an oil. Just an advice do not bend ur tab side to side ok.

Its probably just the petroleum convertor abstractor leaking a little bit of petroleum from the manifolds. I suggest using Penzoil or Mobile1 on your next tablet fillup.

Lmao that was pretty good. that is all.
Whilst reading books, magazines and newspaper's.... is this a sign we are using our Tablets too much?
1. I keep touching the paper so it doesn't fade away.
2. I swipe pages instead of turning them over.
3. Whilst reading articles I'm constantly thinking about the battery.
4. You are confused there is no copy/paste on the news-print.
5. You find yourself continually looking at the top of the reading article for the search tool.
6. You become frustrated there's no flash support.
7. Why am I searching for 'barcodes' in publication's.
8. You become annoyed there's no YouTube for Page 3 Girls.
9. Voice activation does no good.
10. Tapping on a news article headline doesn't take you to a link.
i keep trying to touch files and swipe the screen on my laptop then realize its not a touch screen
The touch screen does slowly invade the subconscious doesn't it?
Copy and paste is another story though, it just doesn't work consistently on my TF
If I had one good reason to smash the thing, this would be it, the on screen and dock keyboards need new interrupt driven software and the addition of navigation keys IMO.
Yes, I do have the latest firmware
Slightly off topic but touch screen related. I gave away my Desire and my DesireHD.Now i`m left with my SE 910i as a back up phone.Takes a long time to sink into my brain that it`s not a touch phone
To me the worst thing was Graffiti. Back then I learnt to write like that, and started writing in "graffiti" even with pen and paper

Yeah, my gf yelled at me for poking her lenovo because i forgot what I was working with..
It only took me a week with my Transformer before I started trying to poke my laptop's screen. And after two weeks of using the transformer, part of me is very sad that the laptop monitor really isn't a touchscreen
Future of computing? I think so.

I dont have this problem. But i sure would like to have a camera around when one of you comes across a sign that says "do not touch".
I voided my warranty.

Thanks....now I have a defense for touches women's arses
Is that why you have a palm tattooed on your face? Swiping boobs?
I voided my warranty and your mum.
I started trying to change page on a Kindle by a gesture (Kindle doesn't have a touchscreen).
i have just started using my Transformer so I dont have such issues yet...
but occasionally i do try to touch my laptop screen to scroll down...
same here keep touching my desktops LCD Screen and waiting for it to respond....
Good to see I'm not the only one
I keep reaching out to my laptop screen, but just before I touch it I realize it's not a touch screen...but this keeps happening... a lot
I was working on my friend's thinkpad some days ago. I kept inadvertently poke his screen. Personally, I can't stand the touchpad anymore. The touch screen is just so convenient and addicting.
Actually, just now I found myself poking my monitor as I am watching a movie and browsing at the same time.
I tried to poke... nevermind. I have a black eye, though.
I voided my warranty and your mum.
I use a stylus with my phone tried to use it on my mates older phone the other day didn't go so well the screen went all rainbow colors then went back to normal got yelled at lol

I've been swiping pages on books since the early 90's, so it was natural for that. I never have a problem with my laptop due to it running windows- if that's not enough to jar you out of the fantasy of every computer having a touch screen, I don't know what will.
Oddly enough, I do have a problem with multiple keyboards and screens on my desk at any given moment.
I use the advanced controls on the browser, and I find myself trying to use it on my X10 =(

Specifically a popping noise, not coming from the speakers, middle of the tablet on the right side in the back. I noticed that the usb flash drive I use was getting a little warm, so I took it out, a few mins after I did, my tablet made a popping noise near the same area. Freaked me out because thismorning my screen flickered, went fuzzy, and then blacked out for about a minute. This is a refurb, wondering if I should send it back...

Send it back. Sounds like it's shorting out.
I've had something like this and my acer tab is about 4 months old and bought new from bestbuy uk (before thay pulled out of the uk).
Was searching for a new wallpaper with wallbase app when my tab made a fizzie sound and screen fuzzed and blured then screen went off (seem like the old days when you tried higher mhz/refresh rate on a monitor), about a minute later the screen came back on, it made me panic and i still worry about it, have hard reset my tab and have no other problems with it but still have strange nasty one off flickers, would like to see if others have had this strange fizzal/fuzzy/bluring blackout?
I still think its some sort of refresh/mhz rate to the screen.
Hey im just a huge fan of electronics, so recently i got a tf300tg.
But now im bored and i want to make some mods.
SO IF U FU*K UP YOUR TRANSFORMER IT IS YOUR FAULT, NOT MINE.....
Basically ifu want to take it apart first the keyboard dock.
Screws are under all pads-legs not like tf300t (had only 2 screws)
Also it has sqrews UNDER MOUSE BUTTONS..... like wtf...
Please use something thats made of plastic to remove mouse buttons....
That shiny stuff is not meant to be scratched...
And aso those 2 visible sqrews under the dock , DO NOT LOSE THEM ,EVEN BETTER TRY TO TAKE THEM OUT UNSCRATCHED.
For better appearance and im sure u want to put them back in later.....
Start opening from the rear end.... watch this video it shows how.... search from youtube: How to open asus transformer docking station
Inside it looks like some free space for a hdd......
So if i do something with it i will let u know..... right now i just opened it... successfully thank god....
Planning to put some led-s ang later on payday hdd also... bye

Man could you see if there is something wrong with microphone? Because while recording something there is a strange white noise and it become louder while pressing the screen (you can listen to this noise not while recording but when you re-listen your videos or audio). If you connect the charger and start recording something, the noise magically disappear. Could you control if the microphone is connected propely? Thanks in advice

Soooo... i have finished my dock mod...
the purpose was to get more light for midnight webcam chatting...
i have successfully completed my mod... and also discovered that there is more than enough room for 2,5 in. hdd
or for 1 or 2 battery cells
i also made a video showing led-s and how it is turned on and off...
the place for led-s is somewhat hitten and not noticeable at first sight...
but light reflecting in the night hours is enough to show my face to the camera instead of just black eyeholes....
and it does not shine disturbingly bright light into my eyes also...
used 3 bright led-s some tape and a switch from keychain flashlight also some soldering was made but i forgot to take pics.
power source is usb port (found some extra 4 holes that were meant to be usb port holes in the middle of the "motherboard" that is inside the dock
also noticed connecting cables from dock to pad were meant for tf 201
also power save feature .... if i take away the pad... dock cuts the power from usb- ports... discovered when my phone was not charging from usb anymore
so no power drain....
i'll add a hdd mod later.... about 2TB hdd should be enough.....
ANY QUESTIONS .... be my guest....
Late night Web cam chats? lol
Seriously this is way cool, there is so much room in there. Great work OP keep us updated.

No further mods or disassembly will be done before payday...... about 2 weeks or so.... then i will show u full video from start to finish
inserting and connecting-soldering tha 2 TB HDD....... will be bad ass....
also i want to make a camera light for the backside camera....
enjoy yer pint fellas.....

Greetings!
So I received my phone from my carrier last monday after it's second time at the repair shop (first time I had lockscreen problems, headprint was changed. When I got it back the r-tards had forgotten to remove the piece of paper that is over the front camera under the glass, they scratched my phone and shizzle so I sent it in again) - and I am trying to figure out if they put it together in a weird way (once again)...
Near the corner of the speakers (I think it's the frame) I get a squeaking noise whenever I unlock my phone (I use bricked kernel sweep2wake so I put a bit of pressure on that corner). Even though it's not all the time, and it's not a very loud noise, it makes the phone feel cheap (as if it is coming apart) so if nobody else is having this issue I'll turn it in again ...
I really love my Nexus, but oh god I've had so many problems with it
Well u love the nexus brand, and ur forgetting that google gave it to LG this time, so this is expected from an amature company. To sell u boards designed for their flagships and not for nexus.
This phone just have looks and nothing else.

I really think it's a nice phone, it's my carrier that assembled it in a bay way when I RMA'd it

I made a little video to show off the noise, is this just my carrier that put it together poorly (again) or is this an issue?
Stream it here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/uhwpl401bgvkdkm/2013-02-04 17.45.32.mp4
My Nexus 4 had squeaky buttons at first, but I ignored it, and kept using the phone normal as usual. And believe it or not the squeaks are gone. I didn't even attempt to fix it!
It's not my buttons that are making the noise, it's the frame (right about where the screw is) close to the speaker
