Hello!
I was about to unroot and get back to stock with my A500 so I flashed a stock ROM via CWM to get a ota-update. Before i had a custom ICS ROM installed and now I installed a HC stock ROM. The problem is that i forgot to go through the wipe menu in CWM before the flash and now when I start up my tablet I first see the ACER logo as usual, then a android text-logo which the tablet is stuck at. I've waited 20 minutes and is still shows the same thing. The logo has an animation which i still can see. I've tried to restart the tablet and get into CWM again without succes.
What should I do?

I believe you have to have the HC bootloader. Now you have HC with ICS bootloader.

so the story goes like that.
few days ago (before ICS officialy came from asus) i've tried just for fun Paul's ICS port. i really dont see myself as a noob, so please treat my question as it is.
at first i've tried to flash it from cwm without wiping and stuff- got stuck at boot.
so i did i full wipe with "Android revolution super wipe".
and flashed ics port again- now with success.
after couple of days decided to go back to HC Revolver. so just went again to CWM and full wiped again, and flashed revolver 3.11.
then i started to get the bad news. it seems nothing can be flashed anymore from the recovery. when i flash a rom it finishing it too fast and when i reboot it just bootlooping on the splash screen. tried everything, including removing the cwm recovery and installing it again.
the one and only thing that worked is nvflashing a prime rom. but it still didnt fix the recovery problem.
i tried to flash also back HC kernel with no luck.
what did go wrong?!
please help me

You need to flash the stock kernel again, Paul's ICS kernel is still there, and that won't work. CWM does not flash the kernel when flashing a ROM unless the kernel is included with the ROM (like Paul's). Download Roach2010's kernel and CWM flash it, then reboot and see if that fixes it. Then, if you want to go to stock, use revolver parts to download the stock Asus kernel and return to stock.

I have had Flexreaper ICS RF1 v3 installed on my a500 working well for months now. Just the other day I turned it on and it froze at the 'Atomic Numbers' boot screen. I thought great oppotunity to install RF1 extreme v5. Downloaded ROM, booted into touch recovery. Updated touch recovery to latest. Rebooted into recovery. Wiped and Formated all properly according to directions. Installed Flexreaper RF1 v5. Rebooted as far as ACER screen and froze.
Tried to install again and again. Same results.
Any Ideas?
Have you installed the ICS bootloader? You need it installed for this from.
Tablet does not go from APX to Bootloader Mode
Good point. However some other HC compatible ROMS like Flexreaper v3 aren't working either (same issue), stalling at boot.
So I am trying to install the ICS bootloader. No luck. I can get into APX mode and connect to my computer however the flash package doesn't make it to my tablet with any tool.
I have noticed that my tablet does not enter bootloader mode. I guess thats my new problem.
My Iconia has CWM installed. I used it a while ago to install the leaked ICS rom. I tried to install the most recent (official) ICS rom. Now my Iconia will not boot past the Iconia logo. I've loaded CWM and formatted everything and reinstalled the official rom. No go.
I figure at this point I have to use nvflash to install a new recovery image and rom. Could somebody tell me how to do that and what files to get?
Thanks
Before doing anything else have you tried wiping cache and data? Has worked for me when a rom wont boot. Have you still got cwm can you access it? If no cwm you can accomplish this by holding power and volume up then toggle the rotation lock.
Yes, I have access to CWM. I have tried wiping everything. I even successfully installed a new rom. The device still will not boot past the Acer logo.
I booted wit hte method you described. Two messages appeared in quick succession, "Clearing data..." and "Clearing cache". After the cache message, the device just sits there doing nothing at all.
Previously I had the data partition encrypted. Could that be causing trouble?
did you install an ICS bootloader?
I'm not sure. That is why I created this thread. I'm looking to get the recovery and OS image necessary to get this device working again.
As the previous poster noted, have you switched to the ICS bootloader? When I flashed my A500 with an ICS rom it too got stuck in a bootloop. I then discovered that I actually had to flash the ICS bootloader berfore installing the new rom.

You can't install official ROM with CWM. You need Acer recovery! This issue has been answered several times. Use search button!!!
Today I unlocked and rooted my Acer a200 and I hard reseted it after the root and then got stuck at boot. No matter what I did it just get's stuck. I tried installing CM10 Jelly bean, Stock recovery and other stock Honeycomb and ICS, but none worked I still get stuck at boot I am not new to android neither CWM and fastboot and those things, but I am new to this Acer. I guess I have the US Acer a200 I bought it at Bestbuy and I live overseas I bought this on vacation, but I am stuck at boot I tried wiping and then installing every rom, but no succes at all.. I have CWM installed. And oh! I am still on stock a200 kernel. Can anyone help me? Thanks
Hi,
Guys I need your help on this one.
I sold my A500 almost a year ago to a friend of mine. At that time I flashed it with a HC ROM and Recovery 1.3.4.
Last week the new owner of the tabled asked me for help updating the ROM to JB. Since now I use a Samsung Galaxy I completely forgot on the correct procedures to update the Acer A500. I simply downloaded a 4.2.2 Rom and tried to flash it on recovery mode.
After that I'm stuck with an endless loop. The tabled boots, pass the Acer logo, shows the ROM logo screen and than boot again.
Since I can still acess the recovery screen (it still shows 1.3.4 recovery) I tried flashing other ROMs with no sucess. Every room that uses the Aurora installer freezes as soons as Aurora Installer message shows on the screen. So I wasn`t able to flash a new Rom or a new Recovery (since all the Roms and recovery that I have found uses the Autora installer).
I also tried to install an older room (Tried the Lightspeed 2.1 ROM) and although I was able to flash it and reboot from recovery, it stops on the boot screen after that (I waited for 4 hours).
Can you guys help me with this one? Also, do you guys know if I can install a new Recovery using Odin?
Thanks
Anyone?
Maybe you should try flashing stock rom. Download 》rename it to update.zip》install from sd card or use EUU roms.
