Is there is any conformation from sony officials of this update
if yes then please share the link

sony confirmed it (not directly) weeks ago.
Israel carriers are not updating to ics because they will wait to the next ics update, so obviously sony confirmed to them that there will be an update

I hope they fix a lot of bugs on this current ROM. Wait anxiously!

... There has only been 1 ics release so far. And as far as im concern, Sony is doing great with responding to their customers need. People like you are the reasons why Sony might stop caring about their customers soon.

Only just certified, so don't hold you breath. What's the panic anyway, no-one knows what it brings, if anything, and nothing is broken in .62...
Likely to be just 2.3.4 with added languages or similar. No way will it be anything to get excited about... ICS in April/May.
I can waiting. .62 is good
Apparently it will rebrand your device as Sony.

It's a german only release for a legal issue regarding gmail and google mail names
We are constantly releasing minor patches to specific countries due to various reasons and cannot comment on all releases. This software in particular is specific software for German market due to a legal issue with the name gmail vs. google mail. ICS Upgrade

Thought id start this thread to create a bit of build up to the upgrade, im a regular arc user so ive still got another month or so to wait but il feel good if the arc s gets theirs on time, which being the end of march could be any day now. Sony seem to be quiet on this, anyone heard anything?
I'm hoping they release the ICS for arc s by the end of this weekend, the suspense is killing me slowly lol. I check this forum and sony blog post every morning.
As they said late March to early April, that could mean the update would between 15 March and 15 April.
Would love to get an update from SE on the progress for the first phones that are due upgrades.
Clearly feeling a little bit left out now that Samsung are releasing theirs.
Hasn't HTC also updated a device?
Sony is behind - again
Sent from my iPad 2 using Tapatalk
I'm very enthusiastic about ICS too but doesn't it mean that we won't have our devices rooted anymore? I've linked tons of apps via Link2SD and my Arc don't have enough space to hold them all.
I'm worried when we will have to upgrade to ICS, AFAIK a lot of apps out there is not yet compatible with ICS, until the developer will upgrade the app.
But I'm also Excited because lots of optimization and features will be available to us, specially that Adreno 205 Driver will be included(I read it somewhere)

I think otherwise. Almost every app I tried is fully compatible with ICS.
Also, Sony has announced the neo L in China and it launches with ICS on board. It uses the same chipset as the arc (MSM8255). Perhaps we could port it when someone gets and uploads the filesystem dump, that is, if the device comes out sooner than the ICS update.
There's nothing on PTCRB yet and updates usually appear on here well in advance of the update actually being pushed. So it could still be weeks away assuming they haven't had any serious issues they need to fix first. It's been 4 weeks since the beta and not a peep from the Sony devs here on XDA which is a shame.

I don't think it will be a problem. I also have an Asus Transformer TF101, and that got ICS a few weeks back, no application compatibility problems, and it's REALLY quick (it was quick before anyway).

By XDA sure, by sony no. I doubt they will release another major update after this. Look at the X10, got gingerbread update and that was it.

Unlock your bootloader and flash an ICS rom. Better than having the standard crap Sony Ericsson skin ruining the phone.
As an added bonus, all the best games i.e SNES emulators, work
Getting the Play for Android games is a waste of a gamepad........
Ics on r800 doesnt support bt headphones :c
Wysyłane z mojego R800i za pomocą Tapatalk 2
there are rumors the play won't get ics due to some memory issue
no mentions at sony though lets be optimistic
Sony: It's gonna be on Late Feb / Early Apr. Lol nope.
Sony: It will surely be on Late Apr / Early May. Lol wait more.
Sony: It's officially on Late May / Early June. Lol, don't remember that.
Hope Sony won't push the update until the end of 2012.
Hopefully all the games we love are compatible wth that updte.. Bt thts unlikely to hppen..

Yeah. Trust me though, the best ICS rom to flash for the Play is AOKP
Now it has theme support so its possibly the best ICS rom in terms of customization

I know when the ICS is out!
Its the 32nd of May.
/sarcasm/
Please stop with these threads already, these and the "what's the best rom" as well as the "Xperia play 2 patent submitted" type of threads are a waste of time IMHO, when there's one of them, fine, but you don't need ten threads for one announcement.

Agreed. No reason for someone to make another thread to the same topic, if need be just use whatever thread is current. OTherwise just wasting space on the forums and it makes it less likely that someone with a real question or thread is not going to be seen unless someone diggs through all the posts.
Xperia S is not on the list either... This is obviously the list of phones that are receiving updates in the current roll out.

All ICS builds have 4.1.X.#.# and all GB 2.3.4 builds had 4.0.#.X.#.#. I highly doubt they would release a new Gingerbread build with ICS already released for months now. And I believe- as I stated in an old forum post of mine- the next ICS build might be 4.1.B.0.626 after the Neo L received it a few weeks ago. But until we receive anything official it's all speculation.
