[Q] Phone memory showing 0.0B

HI...i have a galaxy 3 I5801.
my phone suddenly restarted n all my apps n data were deleted.
this was a while after i installed flash.
and now it shows as phone memory as 0.0B and i cant install any apps!!
i can do the other basic things like texting,browsing n stuff.
I have tried factory reseting,hard reset,recovery...but nothing has worked.
Please let me know what can i do about this ASAP!!

Did you try to wipe cache data, partitions?
Find your stock rom and try to flash with it before send the phone to the service care

flash any stock rom.. i think it is due to data2sd or app2sd script..:-/

request for Sticky thread about Backup and Restore
Hi
Can you make a sticky thread about a step by step guide to backup and restore the existing phone data and software(and everything else, so that anyone can comeback to present position anytime) before trying anything new.
I am a newbie and recently bricked one of my phones by trying a update(and still searching for proper firmware to restore it). I know that searching may yield some result but if there is a sticky thread, it will be helpful for people like me. I know there are stock roms available but nothing beats getting the good old phone back as it is with a feeling that nothing happened.
PS. I have installed CWM and tried the backup option there.However while backing up data it showed " failed to mount /data partition(backed up boot image and other things, but where I do not know(may be on SD card, but cannot find)). My phone is rooted and on original firmware (working perfectly). Samsung kies has a frequent crashing problem on winXP. So dared not use it.

If the backup was completed you can see a folder named
Clockworkmod.
You can find your nandroid backup inside backup..

It said during backup that could not mount /data. Will it affect in anyway during restoration? Will I get back my contacts, pictures and games? I like to try the jellybin firmware available here but also want to comeback to my present position if I do not like it. Is this backup sufficient for complete restoration or I have to do something else ?

I don't think that the backup will work..
Generally the backup has 4 files
Nandroid.md5
System.rfs.tar
Cache.rfs.tar
And
Data.rfs.tar
By the way if you want the stock roms nandroid backup (without data ie. Factory resetted) I can provide you the links..
Kernel is not included.

Would there be a possibility of having a Jellyblast custiom ROM with Merruk kernel?
I am currently enjoying my Jelllyblast V3. I read that we could overclock the unit. The thing is I have read most posts here but I am having difficulty understanding it. Most instructions are to techinical for me. I am hoping that the next Jellyblast custom ROM will have an option of either having a Kuro or Merruk kernel. But if there is a much simpler way of installing Merruk, I would like to know.

Will it help to restore me to everything like a new one (except the data) purchased fresh from market? Then please provide the link. BTW, I am using CWM Ver 5.0.2.6. Are you sure that the above four files will be produced ? I have taken the back ups twice with same set of files available.The data partition could not be mounted in both the cases.

Well, you are in Questions look here first thread.. so please don't get confused.. its not Questions.. ask here.. and also please read first post of any thread you visit to know about it & read your above post..
I don't know about rom you are talking about.. so I can't help.. but you can do this..
First use "search" option in this forum for similar problems if someone had .. they might have got a solution there.. if not see in the place where you downloaded the file.. there you might find solution..
Still if you couldn't find.. search in Q&A /general section.. this will give you info/answer within 10 mins..
if still not available then ask in OT thread or create a thread for your Q in Q&A section.. this will give you answer usually within 1/2 days..

my phone works fine unless I insert the memory card.then after a few minutes it freezes and reboots without powering off. Then it restarts, freezes and again shuts down.removing the card fixes it but then I can't use my apps songs and videos on my memory card. That card worked fine for almost a year (I didn't test it on some other Android device but it works on non Android devices)
My Recent Activity
a few days ago I decided to deodex my phone using a flashable I found somewhere...it all was working fine except for a few FCs and sometimes it froze but after some time it would get back to normal.then I installed a few apps like undelete and ROM toolbox pro.I changed the boot animation too. So once I was using opera mini web browser and my phone froze and turned off in the same way I mentioned earlier... I tried clearing dalvik cache and the cache partition in recovery mode but to no avail.I also removed a few apps I suspected may have been the cause but that too didn't work.
I hope the experts here help me out with the issue soon.
And btw that 'you are a noob on xda' was genus:beer::beer:

Good that you tried searching.. please check in themes and apps section.. and you may find one.. and in that section try only "clock" in search and you will find appropriate threads..
NOTE: please stop asking questions here.. this thread is not to ask questions mate..

[Q] Partition sd card SGY S5360

Hello guys, I followed the developement of that phone on other forum and one day, someone posted a new rom called JellyBlast V3, I was really excited of that because I really enjoy custom rom for the rapidity and graphic, well, so my problem is:
I have a micro sd hc 16gb and I wanted to partition it, i followed few guides but without succes, my phone memory is still blocked at 20mb and I can't install nothing...I think I do something wrong but I don't know what..someone can help me to fix this problem?
There maybe something usefull of my phone
Build Version : JellyBlast v3.0.4
Kernel : I think is kuro kernel 2.6.35.7
I really hope someone can help me for that. Sorry if I've done something wrong

After partitioning...ur internel memory increases bt doesnt show..
To have a look..open link2sd..
Press menu button nd press storage..
U will see it there..
Plus my advice...
Remove the update of those apps which u dont use such as maps and youtube etc..all the pre installed apps..
**rooting is new for me...and i am noob to root...**

I will do that now, maybe it help a bit.
The error of full phone memory pop out i have partitioned the sd correctly but I don't know why this problem is still here...

I have link2sd preinstalled thanks to this custom rom, now I will try to download some random app, then I will re-post for issues.

So your internal memory's maximum is 20 mb or is it once you've installed the rom the rom takes all the memory leaving you with 20 mb?
If it's the first one, try clearing cache, data, dalcik cache before flashing
If it is the second situation, have you installed any apps? Move all of them to sd card? Link to sd seems to move apps back into internal memory for me too, for some unknown reason.

Try to 'link' not clear dalvik cache in menu button...will free up 30 to 40 mb internal menory....!!"

Umm guys im sorta new to paritioning and i went through guides like carldeancatabays but i couldnt really get it....could u guys like spell the process out and how to use it....coz last time i tried to move the fb app to sd card viz link to sd ( redircted via normal appstosd) and i softbricked sooo plzz help!
Also if u could explain the benefits!

Go into link2sd if u did your setup properly you should see a command called create link when you open a app then simply create a link and you'll see a menu come up tick everything

[Q] Have problem after installation of android

Hi i have problem with android. I installed android 4.1.2 JellyBean. And i have 4 GB SD card with FAT32 and EXT4 partition (EXT partition is around 1 GB)
No1. Full internal memory there is only around 70 MB occupied.
No2. When i restart smartphone it want me to set settings, wifi password and gmail account.
What you recommend fully clean and then install hspl and others again?
If do can you help me i know how to install magdlr then i want help.

You need to give a lot more information. What ROM did you flash? What partiton size did you use? Have you flashed an A2SD script or used Link2SD? The amount of 'internal storage' you have depends on a variety of factors, just saying that you have a JB ROM and an EXT partition won't help too much.
As for the second password, do you mean you have to go through the setup wizard each time? I don't see any reason why you shouldn't enter your GMail account or WiFi password, you're going to need both on the phone anyway.

Partition size for FAT32 is around 2,7 GB and EXT4 around 1 GB.
I dont know what is A2SD.

Yeah, that's really not going to get you any help. I was considering giving you some advice (well, I already gave you some) but now I think not. If you actually tried searching about your problem you'd be able to find tonnes of info on how to 'fix' low internal storage issues. As for your second issue, I've never heard of it before so even if I wanted to help I wouldn't be able to.

that rom has 3 different install methods
and you still have not posted your partition size
so if i was you i would click on that link in Nigeldg signature that says Some people REALLY need to read this!
then come back and try to post something we can help you with

You need to post what type of installation you did,
Nand
Nand with Data on EXt
or NativeSD
You problem I think is that the EXT partition isn't being mounted on boot. probably a bug with the installer package. I don't know.
You should really be asking help from the one who created the rom.

I recommend to install the PACman_leo_v1.2a_div3 (JB 4.1.2) to nand on clk (150MB partition), the card class 6 or 10 for that format, for example (2GB SD and 2GB ext4) initrd_patcher use and will walk like a formula 1

Are you on MAGLDR? I think from what I've read on that thread that some are having issues with getting it to work with NativeSD on MAGLDR. If that's the case, try what it says in this post.
