Hi all,
i have just made a Circle % mod for the Nexus 7, but when i try and flash it i get this error:
E: Error in /sdcard/mybat.zip
(Status 0)
installation aborted
I signed the zip with apktools, and i have included the meta inf ect.
Can someone please help me, as i really want a battery mod.
and if someone can help me getting it working, i can then upload it for other people to use.
thanks in advance
Cheers
Corey
Anyone??
Sorry for my impatience, but I just really want to get this working.
Cheers
Corey

Em also getting the same problem.
Since this is an old post i wanna ask you have you got the solution ?
IF yes what was it ?
The solution is probably this:
Try and install a custom recovery, such as TWRP or CWM
This should/will get rid of your "Status 0" error.

Hi,
I did find a solution yes.
When u got the error, i had been using a meta inf update script
that I had wrote for my Galaxy s2.
I decided to rewrite a new one for the nexus 7, and it worked.
If you need to make your own zip, you can download one of my battery base zips I made from this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1819550
And just add your own contents, and then it should work.
Let me know if it works.
Cheers

Hi,
No that wasn't the problem, as i had been using cwm, and I also tried it with TWRP.
I explained the problem was with some code in the meta inf update script which only worked on the s2 for some reason.

What recovery are you using, if its amon ra then you probably nee to toggle 'signed .zip verification' to disabled
Im using clockworkmod..

Find the ClockwordMod thread in the Developers section. He explains there why some ROMs won't work. It has to do with the way they are written. You could also try AmonRa's and see if it works.

Either its a bad file, you're on CWM 3.0+ and the file isn't edify compatible, or a good file but isn't signed, which fails the signature test, so toggle off signature verification and try it again.

I got this twice lately, flashing different ROMs. Does anyone know what Status 7 means? Thanks!

Something to do with your recovery I think. Do you have a custom recovery? If so try flashing a new recovery and then try again ?
Hi, I use the latest version of TWRP. What do you recommend, CWM?
Edit: No, actually I use the last but one version. Will update and hope for the best.

You must disable "signature verification" if you want to flash ota update on any recovery but stock.
I see you have clockworkmod, so that's why it's failing. It might be in " advanced," Or "install zip from sdcard"
if not look through each menu till you find "toggle signature verification"

No, the error states that the build.prop isn't as expected, I.e. he's done some modifications and due to that the update fails.
-> he needs to flash the full update manually, probably leaving out the /data partition to keep the apps and their data or at least he needs to revert the build.prop modifications.

Will the upgrade work if I put the original build.prop file back in the system directory? If so can someone post a vanilla file so I can compare and then replace to try it?

If you didn't change anything else, it should work, otherwise you will stick at a different point. About the build.prop: Didn't you make a backup? Every time you modify something of the system, you should make a backup before. Unfortunately I don't have the original one, but probably you can extract it from the stock image.

Here's the build.prop from JRO03D https://www.dropbox.com/s/j5d396wnc8fqnc1/build.prop. If restoring that does not work, follow AndDiSa's advice and flash the full update manually except for /data.
Yep that fixed it. Think there's a crc type check done on the upgrade. Changed the res back to get the tablet ui and all is joyous in the world. Thanks for everyone's help.

Try installing from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2160817
Then reboot and see how you go?
