Android App only works right when debugging(Heisenbug?) - Android Software Development

Hey everybody,
I started development on a new app today and stumbled upon a weired bug.
I only get right results when I start my app with debugging enabled. When I have it disabled, I get random numbers in my variables.
Someone thought it could be some kind of "Heisenbug"
If you have some experience in android app development, please head over to my stackoverflow post and help me out.
I spend already 4 hours debugging it and couldn't solve the problem.
Here's the link for more detailed information, thank you!

Root Call blocker testers needed!

Hello guys, im the developer of Root Call Blocker, an advanced call and SMS blocking app for rooted phones.
The app is currently in open beta here at XDA:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1051274
I dont have a Desire and need testers! Please let me know if you are interested in some hard-core testing and logging...
Updated, let me know if your issues are fixed please!
Hi guys, any feedback on the latest version of the app? We are just about to release an update...
Its working very well. Surely a must-have for rooted phones.
Good to know - any feedback? Suggestions?
In any case, outstanding issues have been fixed. Please update to 1.5.5 and let me know if your issues are solved. Its important we get some feedback guys!
Im on 159 and its been working flawlessly for a month or so!
We have just made lots of additions, Update please if you havent already please!
1.6.2 is the latest build!
App has been updated! Let me know if it fixes issues youve been having please!
This is awesome!
Enjoy... and remember, an update is always just around the corner! If you have problems, use "Write to us" in Settings!
Could you guys please test the following behavior for me:
1. How the app behaves when a blocked number attempts to connect during call waiting
2. How a blocked caller is handled when "Dont answer" is set as the reject method and you are currently on the phone and have not enabled blocked call vibrate notifications within the app itself
Dont forget to send logs with descriptions as well
Come on people, i really need some feedback on this!
Nothing to report then?
Nope - no news is good news
Thanks, could you please test the behavior i described above?
Come on, i need feedback!
Hows it going guys? Any issues?
Guys, an update has been rolled out. It contains an important new workaround thast needs to be tested.
It may help those people who have data issues, especially on LTE enabled phones sometimes.
Please help me test this by installing the app, rebooting and waiting for data to return with the screen on. Please wait 3 minutes at least before sending logs via "Write to developer" in the app.
Dont forget to include a description. Thanks!
ill install it tom, will post findings shortly

Have you tried googling it?
Hint hint "how to enable developer options in 4.2"
Also next time post questions in the questions and answers. Better yet SEARCH before you post, that is after all part of the forum rules.

have you tried posting your question in q&a since you arent developing anything? this is a development forum. anyways, go to about tablet, tap the build number 7 times in a row. your developer options will reappear. you could have saved yourself some trouble factory resetting if you just searched.

Hilarious but some people come here for informed help mid panic. I am of the mindset to find the answer myself first and then ask like most but I also know the panic feeling.
Sent from my Nexus 7 usi...oh god! What happened? All I did was root!!
I had the same problem and almost panicked myself. All you have to do is open settings and push "about phone". Then hit the "build version" button 7 times and you will have developer status. I saw it on this site but can't remember where. Good luck and happy hacking!

[Q] Im loosing the plot, so i thought id post this here. im needing help.

Evening to all from the UK, first time in posting and probably so easy to fix but this problem is driving me mad.
I have a nexus 7, also a Galaxy 3 and also a computer.
Problem im getting is if someone sends me a email or facebook updates and other apps, say i will look on my nexus 7, read it then delete it, but when i go to my phone i have to delete it again and then the same on my computer, surly theres a way that once i delete it on one gadget the others should follow.
sorry if this has been answered before hand, ive just joined and this site is huge, so looking forward to a lot of reading.
Many thanks
John.

Just a question?

hi to all, it's my first time to be here! me and a friend of mine have joined a small competition that require for participating -of cours- to develop an android app! also we are a newbies in java developement and it's our first experience in android world, so my question is: is there a java or linux or c++ code that can power on an android device at a specific time? I googled a lot of time and i didn't got an answer. Please any suggestion or help? And sorry foy my bad english.
No definitely not!*
Because, you're app is only running if android has booted, so there is now way for your app.
The build-in Clock-App can't do it, too!
The only think you can do is, to unlock a booted phone.
Regards
-----
*There could maybe a way, for a specific phone, which has the hardware, which is needed and a SDK for developers for that hardware. But I don't know anyone.
Thanks for the replay. You speaked about the build-in clock app can't do it? it's indeed a reality! But why? unlike the android phone, when you set the alarm clock app in a Nokia phone and you shutdown the device.. the app is able to power on and boot the os!! So why it's not possible on android! is it something related to android architectur (layers)? maybe the hardware? can someone give me an explanation please.
Yes, I suppose you'll need specific hardware support. If the phone is really off, there needs to be some kind of timer that is still running, which can turn the phone on, so it can boot again, and then run some app for the alarm or whatnot.
Apparently Blackberry phones support it too, perhaps others as well, but it's not a common feature on Android phones.
Thanks you for the info.

there are many apps available on play store search and get it all working ....
Have a nice day
I dont know how to but its possible in Android because if you got to Settings --> Accessibility --> There is an option to turn on and off the device... So there must be a turn around for the same...
I also have a similar kind of Idea for my next app but dont know how to run my app when the phone is off or how to switch it on...
Maybe in rooted devices...Please let me know if you get anything similar.
Thanks

[Q] Problem with Activity/Broadcast. Unsure what this is exactly?

Hi all,
I'm posting this here as it seems this is affecting more than one app although not all that are related. Let me explain...
About a week or so ago, the app eCID stopped announcing texts received. Not sure why it took me so long to notice but anyway, now that I have, this is really bugging me! It appears not just eCID but also Tasker are affected as far as I can tell.
Basically, when I receive a text, neither eCID or Tasker can act on the fact that a text has been received. GoSMS still pops up, Total Launcher shows the counter on top of the GoSMS app and I get the default tone and vibrate.
I've tried freezing loads of apps, uninstalling and reinstalling apps, tried using Broadcasts Monitor, LogCat and sent the log from eCID to the developer and still I'm struggling with this.
I've posted on Tasker G+ page asking for help there also. I just wonder in the land of XDA where there is such knowledge and understanding, can someone perhaps help me with this.
As my sig shows, this is a stock rooted Note 4 SM-N910F 4.4.4.
Thanks for reading :good:
