[Q] Autofocus not working fine

When I try to make pictures from a long distance they are pretty sharp but short distance is a mess. Is this normal? Can I fix it?

Which rom are you using? In my case, using CM7.2 the autofocus was really fine, for long or short distance. In case you're using some CM rom, try the manual focus mode, and set the focus to an object in short distance, just to check if is the problem is with the autofocus mode or the camera/lens.

I am using Mokee OS. Its based on CM 7.2 and i tried Macro focus option. Well its a little better now, but far away from perfect. When i try to scan barcodes its a challange to get the wright distance.

Sounds like a software problem. I would try another ROM if this feature is really important for you, like an official CM.

720p record on defy +

hi im gonna buy a defy + and i need to know if defy + with CM9 rom or CM7.2 supports 720p video!
and the other is ... what's the best rom of CM9? quarx , epsylon , jordan?

defy/defy+ doesn't support 720p recording except on MS2GINGER . there will be stable ICS ROM likely in a month,or you can try the nightlies.

Yes, MS2Ginger allows 720p recording but it's useless because of low framerate ~15fps.
Best balance between high enough resolution (848X480) and decent framerate (24fps) is in WIUI ROM by Wajk.

Well I've been a long time MIUI user so didn't knew that!
But anyway the point is, framerate is more important than resolution for a decent video experience.

You can get 720p only on Moto ROMS like the following:
Walter79's MS2GINGER
Prasanna modified blur ROM
I was on base 1321-asiaretail and both these ROMs worked well.
As far as the usability of 720p of these ROMs I am not so sure because I dont use it and have not compared it with my digicam.

GB Camera

I liked the Acronium 8.2 GB ROM. Only problem i find in the ROM is Camera is not as good as ICS Stock Camera. Can anyone tell me to improve its quality same as ICS Camera?? Camera is one of the main feature I need it.

There is moded camera for GB on xda. You can try it

Butter ROM for Defy

Hi,
Which is the smoothest(not the fastest) ROM for your Defy(+)?
Now I'm on the CM10-20120828-NIGHTLY-mb526.zip(1.3GHz), thanks Quarx, great ROM, but it's not so smooth as I expected.
Sometimes lags a lot.

GREEN LENS or RED LENS?

I would say CM7 (with a replacement launcher, because ADW isn't so smooth) or Ms2Ginger. I didn't try miui since a long time, but it used to be smooth.
@bds bamrah: if he used CM10 for MB526, then his phone is apparently Red lens.

try whiterabbit 1.6 is fast as hell and the interface is really nice

I'm looking to install CM 10 but I have a green lens but I use my camera somewhat often so will that still work?

Read the various guides. It will work. Make sure you only flash MB525 Defy ROMS, not MB526 or you may lose your camera.

Camera works great on my MB525 Green Lens running quarx cm10 nightly 20120912. Has worked for me since the first nightly.
