XDA Developers Boot Animation for ROMs - Galaxy Tab 7.7 General

I am developing a Custom Boot Animation for Galaxy Tab 7.7 (680 in Asian countries) just for the ROMs which are made by XDA Developers. Sorry, It will take 2 days more, I am buying a new software for editing it... Will upload an Alpha Version tomorrow...

Thank you and good luck

Great idea! Thanks for your effort!

This is wonderful news, I just hope more members and dev's get this unit so that we get more roms going and aftermarket madness
Its a shame to see such a nice tablet run on HC and the problem is that Samsung dont seem to give any news for the release.
Good work and a big thank you to all dev's who are doing something for the 7.7, you guys rock!

+1 thanks all dev!

Is there a SGS2/TouchWiz stock theme for MIUI?
I like TouchWiz but I'd like some of MIUI's additional features.

You could just run MIUI and grab the TW4.5 launcher, that would give you the feeling of TW with MIUI insides.
whats so special about miui? why would i want to flash this instead of an official stock rom? cheers for any replies.

There's not much info on it. Last update to that post was more than a month ago, and the original post is the same as here on xda, which is... very old. Seems a bit unorganized.
From when miuiandroid.com is official? i wont call official until it's on miui.com
And what does it means? No so many info about official 1.10.21... Bluetooth Audio is working?

ClockWorkMod, a custom recovery
Am I running into any problems with having Ubuntu installed on eMMC?
Ok... you can't know it now, but would it be possible to flash stock asus firmware now?
And ill ask this offtopic question: is there any office software that has support for footnotes?
I will start studying medicine and it would be great to use Android only. Till now I think I need Ubuntu for a satisfying office.
CWM means Clockworkmod, a recovery used to flashing zip archives containing files such as roms ecc.

This lol
I remembered when I first got my tab (in short, I traded a laptop, Xbox 360, and games used for a brand new SGT). First thing I did was rooted it via some app. Then I proceeded to install busybox for some reason, then thought "meh I feel like going back to stock" so I just uninstalled busybox (ignoring whatever message it said about not uninstalling it).
Tab didn't reboot, then I panicked and tried flashing something with Odin (not sure what it was, but I ended up trying to fill all the boxes in Odin with some files and then flashing). It failed
Eventually, I then just gave up trying to keep stock and went with Overcome
So I'm pretty lucky to still have my tab lol...
Nowadays, I find it easy to try out different ROM's (I always just restock according to Overcome's GB guide, then proceed to flash a custom ROM and Kernel)
I'd recommend spending some time on Froyo stock for a bit, then eventually trying to update to either stock Gingerbread, or another stable Gingerbread ROM (such as Overcome or Hyperdroid). Then do a bit of research and then try to go to ICS.
Just be careful on what your flashing, always double-check things, and check out people's feedback
Edit:

I believe the roger's tab uses the GT-P1000 kernel but I'm not sure...do a quick search or ask the guys here.
Oh and btw, HumberOS build is quite outdated compared to the releases from Slim's build which can be found here. This ROM .zip already comes with kernel so it should work just fine on your tab I guess? And don't forget to flash gapps after ROM, but I guess that's pretty obvious judging from the other devices you messed with lol

I also bricked my Tab a few times when I started flashing ROMs on it not too bad tho since it's pretty much impossible to hardbrick the tab afaik, I never did and I flashed some pretty dumb stuff on it lol just keep a GB Stock ROM in your pc to flash with Odin/Heimdall and reflash it whenever you softbrick your tab that's what I used to do that or Overcome ROM.

Welcome!
Just a quick note on flashing the tab. As you already noticed, you should get on Gingerbread bootloaders first. The rest is up to you, all current ROMs for our Tab can be flashed on top of them. Seeing you got over the softbrick with Overcome, you should be home free already.
PS: also make sure your tab is charged at more than 10% before you start flashing or you might not be able to get into recovery or download mode. It may look like a softbrick, but you just need to let it charge...
Peace and happy flashing!

CM9 has more customization ability than AOKP I believe, and also the devs are still busy fixing up their CM9 roms so please be patient.
Also, it would be appreciated if you do not request the devs to do something unrelated to their current development because it just makes them irritated. They came to XDA to share their work, not fulfill the wishes of others.
Lastly, CM9 is quite fast and relatively stable for daily use .
Sent from my E15i using Tapatalk 2
i don't think Rahat34's gonna continue his work as has been confirmed by Rahat34 himself. so our only hope is to ask someone skilled enough to continue his work or compile it ourselves in the case of which a guide to doing so would be plenty useful . or we could wait for the devs over at the htc wildfire/wildfire s/samsung galaxy mini/htc legend area to finish their aokp roms and then we can port theirs hopefully with their permissions.
i dont force any one to do this port.
i just have suggestion and share with you.
because rahat34 make the rom work well , just if any body have knowledge , can update it .
if i make wrong topic and post ,im sorry for that .
sorry for bad eng.

I wonder if this dual booting idea could be used on the 7.7.
Would be great to use stock(ish) and CM10 dual boot

Because those things wrong reduce with time and are certainly better than Jelly Bean from Samsung.
Isn't that the point of dual boot; have the base Samsung 404 and test JB on a dual boot...

I suppose you are referring to stock ICS...
I'm using CM10 since first build and on many points is way better than stock.
The only feature I'm missing from stock is the HDMI dongle , so I would like to boot into stock ROM when I need to connect the tablet to my HDTV...

This method is really interesting, all android dual-boot methods I had seen before required specific kernel modifications.
I'll definitely give this a try on 7.7 when I got some time, will keep you up to date.

The only rom on which you have a risk of brick is stock ICS, so what you're saying is just non-sense.
Btw you're the one trolling about cm10-based roms in the first place.
