I've just got my X10 today. Unlike other 3 phones, the X10 doesn't have a '3' logo on the phone.
Unfortunately, I don't have any other network simcard. I wonder if anyone here is using 3 network with X10? Is it locked to 3 only?
yes its locked to 3UK, you can get it unlocked at many places online for about £20, some take a few days to send you the code, some take a few hours to 24hours.

I see. If I unlocked the phone, does that mean that I would be able to use other networks' simcards as well as 3 simcards.
But if I have an unlocked mobile phone from other networks, like O2 or Vodafone, I wouldn't be able to use 3 simcards with them.
Is this correct?
If a phones unlocked you can stick any SIM card in it you want.
I have an unlocked X10 and i've used Orange, O2, and Vodafone SIM's in it with no problems.

Yes. I know that. But please read my post carefully.
I meant for an unlocked phone you can use Orange, O2, Vodaphone, etc.
But you can't use 3.

I think this is correct.
Alright. I've been searching the FAQs and forums and would like someone(s) to set me straight on the following:
1. The Dell Steak is currently being sold in the UK direct from Dell _unlocked_ and also via O2 on or off contract. The _unlocked_ version is not just sim free but can be used on any GSM network that the UK version supports (T-Mobile UK, e.g.). True or False? If true, out-of-the-box (OOB), rooted and special ROM, or SmartSim?
2. If this is true what is this O2 exclusive deal with Dell and which phones are they 'blacklisting' if someone tries to use a SmartSim or similar?
3. If T-Mobile in the UK and US use the same frequencies, would an unlocked Streak from the UK work on T-Mobile in the US with a US sim?
4. If AT&T is the exclusive carrier in the US when it is released, then does anyone really expect Dell to sell an unlocked version? Aren't we really planning on seeing just a contract/no contract price for the same version?
Sorry if that's a lot for a single post, but it all seems related and didn't make sense to split up.
The phones that 02 sell are LOCKED and will not be unlocked by them in the near Future. It will work with a Rebel Sim on any network in the UK so i am told.
The ones from Dell are UNLOCKED and can run on any Sim in the UK
Now i have not read of any one from the US getting a Unlocked streak from the UK and using it it in the US
They have just started selling them in France and Germany locked, not sure about unlocked
I have trawled through the Internet and have not come across a UK one working in the USA
Direct from Dell Streaks are SIM free and unlocked out of the box, mine works fine on T-Mobile UK.
O2's exclusive deal was for a limited period and expired at the beginning of July I believe.
T-Mobile UK and US operate on different bands, specifically the US requires the 1700 band for downstream data.
I believe Dell US had a pre-order page on their website which suggests they will be available unlocked from launch there. Probably because they will only work on AT&T's network for 3G its probably not worth them going to the trouble of an exclusive deal.

Thanks
Thanks for the clarification. Hopefully the tags will help others find the same answers.

Hi,im live in Italy, I have a problem with a motorola Atrix T-Mobile UK unlocked from one day it doesn't connect him to the cellular net, it tells me no service but if I put the sim in other jail cell it works, I don't know what has happened, it has the original rom 2.2.2, for the rest it works but it doesn't make me use the telephone.
Is it subsidy unlocked? (Also known as "SIM unlocked")
ATRIX 4G T-Mobile UK
Yes it is unlocked for all SIM.
I have been doing a bit of research over the last few days and I have read from a few people that the Rogers Galaxy Note 3 will work with a Fido sim card without having to unlock the phone. Is this true? Has anyone here on the forums tried?
I am getting my Note 3 in 3 weeks and would love to know because I am with Fido and don't really want to pay 50$ to unlock it. I also don't trust any online website that unlocks phones.
All Rogers phones work fine with a Fido sim unless the sim is very old (before Rogers bought Fido)

Has anyone here successfully managed to unlock the ones from EE?
I mean those that come as EE network upgrades - can they really be unlocked and become 'SIM-Free' to be used outside UK?
And I m talking before the 6 month period that EE says its the minimum usage after which unlocking the phone is possible...I m talking a brand new unit that came sealed, to be able to unlock it on first use. Can it be done?
Cheers
Currently, and from what I have read, the G901F is available only in UK (EE, O2, others?) and Germany (T-Mobile, other?)
EE ones are a bugger to unlock - anyone has any success story unlocking one of those EE units?
What about those from T-Mobile (Germany) - any of those around that can be unlocked?
By 'unlocked', I mean totally SIM free that can be used anywhere worldwide...
