Gummy build on goo.im - Kindle Fire General

There is a gummy otter build on the goo manager app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.s0up.goomanager its maintained by kejar16 and Hashcode helped with the device setup and kernel. If you like customization, check it out. I have nothing to do with this build, I just got permission from kejar to mention it. Enjoy!

Its a nice build. I was unable to change my volume and the home button did not work though.

I wonder if this is a different build from one I d/l on May 9th? The Goo Manager file I just saw has a build date of 4/25/12, the one I d/l on May 9th was called v1.2.
I thought the rom had some cool features but see my post from 5/9 below about a couple of key things for me that were missing and kejar never responded. Since the GM file has a date of 4/25, I would think that these functions are still missing???
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25881309&postcount=27
EDIT: nvm, just found a slew of near nightly releases of Gummy. Maybe will try again to see if these issues were addressed. Can someone who has tried the latest 6/4 release confirm if UMS works and if you can boot to recovery with FFF 1.4a?

I'm running the 05/28 nightly and have been doing so since errr 05/28. I have been really impressed with it (apart from the boot animation lol). The main thing I have not been impressed with on these ics roms is the rather poor battery life. I've tried aokp, gede and another of the cm9 roms and this is definitely best for me to terms of battery. I also had problems with the back light staying on with some of the others but not this. It is worth a try in my opinion

It runs well for me also. I use the volume control app to adjust my volume. The home button works for me. The latest build went weird on me. It worked fine until it froze and wouldn't boot. I just wiped cache and dalvik and reflashed and, it seems to work fine now.

Im installing aokp build 38 right now, I haven't tried it in a while, if I'm still not impressed, I will go back to gummy and test USB mass storage for you. I believe he uses hashcodes device tree, so I think it should work.

Tried official aokp 37, but I had some issues with video player always in portrait mode and very big menu button, even overlap back and home one.
I'm going to try new test build now.

A walkaround for this problem is add menu button as a forth button in navigation bar, find this setting in ROM control. But it's a little annoying.

What is working or not working in this? I use Jt's CM9 on another website, I tried it out for AOKP for Evo 4G and it was nice, but lacking in certain departments that I honestly require for a daily driver. Is there a changelog or?

The only issue still looming is the headphone jack issue, same work around applies. The current build has recovery issues, the Devs are fixing it for the next build. Been running it for a day and a half coming off of JT's build and is just as stable IMHO. I love TeaM Kangs ROM mods. The changelog is on the linked page.

u can flash it using cwm recovery but after u reboot ur recovery gets borked and u cant get into it all until u flash the recovery through heimdal again...actually i couldnt reboot at all on this rom but other than those issues i love it its awesome just as good as jts except it has slightly more custumization options ill prolly be switching back and forth each time one of them puts up a new build cuz they are both awesome

No issues rebooting normally here, and you can hard boot out of recovery(recovery will start but then freeze). Loading cwm through oden or heimdal does work.

For those familiar with JT's build over on rootz the issues are the same(plus the recovery issue), headphone jack, front cam doesn't render properly but the back cam works with Angel Camera from market flawlessly. As stated earlier the builds run very similar but AOKP has built in customization options exclusive to their builds.

I've downloaded a couple of these, modified the updater script to actually install with CWM, tried every "recommended" kernel I can find, wiped this, wiped that, didn't wipe this, didn't wipe that (edit:forgot to add "read what seemed like a million posts about every one of these downloads") and it always ends up the same...it boots, I see the Verizon 3G connection, I can connect to wifi but I absolutely cannot get past the setup wizard because tapping the droid causes "Unfortunately, the setup wizard has stopped" and there's no getting around it. So there it sits until I heimdall 2.3.5 back onto it so it does something useful. If anyone has something concrete I can do to get past this, please let me know.
Edit: Got it! For future reference (myself included!) Install CWM, then install the AOKP system, reboot, wait for it to come up and when it brings up the setup wizard, do:
adb remount
adb shell
cd /system/app
mv SetupWizard.apk OldSetupWizard.apk
exit
Bingo, setup wizard is gone.
I'm a pretty good flasher ..for the life of me, the vzw version won't get me past the Samsung bootup logo. I've wiped..etc.. I'm flashing using cwm 5.0.2.7

New CM9 Nightly Builds for TF101

Hello people,
I was looking through the nightly builds on download.cyanogenmod.com
I saw a fresh build for TF101 dated for 2/27.
Check it out. I will flash it and see how it is.
Someone also needs to create an Official CM9 Nightly page in Dev section.
So who wants to be the Guinea pig? I'm already running that KANG that was posted up earlier this weekend. I may try it after I charge up.
yea...guinea pig here....goes through boot animation and then system ui and trebuchet (the launcher) fc...i would say stay away until some official announcement is made
Yeah. It doesn't even boot up probably. :-(... going back to stock

I'm surprised that this news seems to be not generating much buzz here. Not knocking any of the other devs, because most of them do amazing work, but CM is the bee's knees. When those nightlies get semi-mature, I'll be running them and never look back. They've never done me wrong before. Any device I've ever had that was supported, was the best ROM available for my needs. YMMV, of course.
I think when its own thread is created youll see the buzz, cm rocks lol

New official CM9 nightly on get.cm. It boots!!! Gonna test it and report back in a bit.
EDIT1: Wifi works and was able to log into my Google account. Currently restoring my Titanium Backup and will test a bit more after that. Also, camera makes the tablet reboot on first launch, but works after that. Odd. More info to come.
EDIT2: Face unlock is there, but doesn't recognize my face, so I can't test it out. It couldn't recognize my face on my Nexus S 4G either. Maybe my face is just derped up. Anyway, there is nothing that I could tell that is broken. Even the MicroSD mounted with no issue. I don't have a keyboard dock to test it out, otherwise I would. Games and videos both work fine.

Non-Experimental PA with Preview 8 Camera
I've been using this ROM as my daily driver, and it appears stable enough to have the EXPERIMENTAL tag removed. It still has some bugs that relate to the camera itself, but the only BSOD that I have had has been on the initial flashing of the ROM. It has worked stably after that. The only bugs relate to specific camera apps from the Playstore. Some work, some don't. Some crash the camera, most don't. Wifi was initially a problem, but it's fixed with Preview 8 to the point that I haven't had any problems. I think that subject to the usual caveats about using any unofficial ROM, that you can be fairly confident in flashing and using this one.

Read the OP for the stable ParanoidAndroid ROM w/o the camera. It's actually a "feature" which is really useful when you make changes to scripts, add stuff into init.d, etc. and just want to reboot without going through lights out and moboot. Just download any of the suggested software power menu apps on Playstore, and the problem is solved.
This just killed my backup touchpad, hah. Was using the AOKP&CM9 Remix by SGA prior to this and was totally fine with it. Wanted to test this out and nope. At first it wouldn't boot into WebOS, then decided to boot into Android only for it to shut down during camera testing and never turn on again.

Don't blame you, but I am still using this as my daily driver because: a) I can set up individual dpi for each of my apps, including the launcher, and b) the camera works almost perfectly, especially if you use UCAM in place of the standard camera app.

While the last thing you did before a crash is the most likely place to look, I doubt that this ROM "killed your backup touchpad". When you installed the PA ROM, did you select "CyanogenMod" at the moboot startup, or did you try to boot it through AOKP? Keep in mind that _SGA_ has a script that modifies /boot and the default moboot image during flash. PA doesn't. From your description of the problem, there's insufficient information to determine exactly what you did, the steps you took, and what caused the crash, but the fact that you were able to boot up to the point that you were testing the camera suggests that the ROM installed fine.

I like this from, but I am missing left side buttons at lower bar. can you help?
Rom download link won't download.
It says the "The file exceeds the maximum size that we scan. Download anyway", but when I click on "Download Anyway" the page just cycles and it doesn't download.
I've seen that page before on Google Drive downloads, but it usually allows a download when I encounter it.
EDIT: Tried it again later, now it works.
How to Shut Down or Restart
Am I missing on how to shut the touchpad down?
When I press the power button it just goes into the starting "paranoid android" animation and comes back on...
EDIT: N/m on second thought... just nevermind.

Weird, I've never encountered that issue. I assume you did a complete clean install of the Paranoid rom? Maybe get cat log running and log the event if it happens, I hear that helps devs track down the issue. Are any specific apps running when these reboots occur?
been running this ROM for around 24 hours noticed around 4 or 5 random resets and am still having the issue with instagram and youtube controls being put in the background. Otherwise the build is quite reliable and very snappy, Thanks for the effort!
The reboot for me only occurs during screen unlock. I have remove the patern unclock and since then did not see any reboot. Will let you know tomorrow the result
Update: I got another reboot this morning without any lock active. Will try another fresh install to see

[ROM] [4.2] CarbonROM Alpha [7-6-13]

Hey guys! I am now developing for Carbon, and I'm working hard on 4.3! In the mean time, please take a look here for a 4.2 build. Whats not working:
Bluetooth (I know it was fixed, I don't have my carbon source any more, so I can't fix it)
There is a intermittent screen issue where it becomes uber sensitive for some reason, no idea why..
And of course, camera..
But, anyway.. Go download here! http://downloads.codefi.re/patrickc...ON-JB-UNOFFICIAL-20130703-2049-tenderloin.zip and make sure to grab the 4.2 GAPPS!
I am actively working on 4.3 and hope to have nightlies soon.

Reseved for future use.

Thank you! 4.2 you say? My my , someone will be getting a nice donation if I see 4.2 on my TP. Keep up the good work.
Till then, I already know this will be my new DD
Guys,
I am working on camera now. If all goes as planned, I should have a new release with camera up within a few hours!
And yes, 4.2 There is already a port that was started, but there are a LOT of things not working... So I, along with my team, will be contributing to that project and help to get a few things working!

Quick update on camera, run into a few snags. Won't be able to post tonight. I'll have to talk with the rest of my team tomorrow on the camera issues we're running into as they're over my head (at least they are at 2AM lol) Will report back as soon as I can on camera.

Re: [ROM][Android 4.1][WORKING SOUND]SickleROM Alpha 1[1-29-2012]
does this rom fix the problems on the jcscullins rom with the videos on the web browser, in which you to zoom in to watch the video properly?

In Mt experiences, we have better battery life over jcsullins' build. There aren't too many more changes, yet, other then that. This is alpha 1,so it is still fairly similar to CM10

I think he it's referring to flash in a browser's window and how it had to be full screen to work properly....

Haven't had time to check the battery life but it does not reconnect to WiFi when changing location which I think was an early problem with jcsullins ,also one of my apps" Ttorrent won't install/ run due toa supposed lack of space but I was easily able to install 3 other apps without a problem so I can't figure that one.
I hope this info helps.

Did you upgrade from CM7/CM9 and use the ACMEInstaller3? That is a requirement. Without that your device will report that it has run out of space when you know it hasn't
If you did use ACMEInstaller 3, then I would like to go over things with you and try to fix the problem...

Yes I installed acmeInstaller 3 some time ago along with moboot 0.38 and the latest CMW and then TWRP. I was running oats and just wiped cache and davlik before flashing this rom .
Are you able to install Ttorrent ? If so I will play around a bit .

It seems to install perfectly fine. I would try a user data wipe and then try again, that might be the issue.
