the standard call recording programs works perfectly without in any way tamper with the firmware (no ROOT, no new Kernel, no CWM, no new libaudio ecc.).
I try Callrecorder from skvalex, Standard Android API, uplink + downlink and the results are perfect.

Thanks for a such good news. I'll add this phone to list of supported devices.
Following this excellent news, I searched & installed "Personal Call & Voice Recorder".
Works very well & has lots of intuitive options.
I had to adjust the audio source before I could record the other party.
Changed it to Voice_Call instead of Mic.
Since then, recorded calls are perfect & stored very nicely with callers' names.
Also has an option to hide call recordings from music lists.
will skvalex call recorder work with the USA version of gs3?

love the call recorder software -- but i have a question:
the US version of the GS3 will be using a Qualcomm snapdragon s4 chipset.
Skvalex -- given that your call recorder software has historically worked well with qualcomm chipsets (i.e. HTC phones), what do you think?

Works excellent for the Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300), It is the 30 day demo version but it works. Two way recording with good volume on both sides.
I use to use this on the vanilla rom but have flashed and rooted etc and now it doesnt record at all last time i tryed?Im now on omega rom and ill have to try it again.I use to have it on my old desire and it worked flawlessly.

Finally, found a proper solution to recording calls on my S3. Up until now no issues faced, only been 1 hour after install. Is able to record all calls without any issues on the default install settings.
Tried it on my Galaxy S3 in India and it works without any glitches or errors.

i9300 preference settings that made CallRecorder work on CM10 24/11 nightly for 2 phones are:
Record calls from: Standard Android API
and
Standard Android API Prefernces>Audio Source: Default
Hope this works for others users out there
BTW any tips on how to boost the incoming volume to match that of the mic on the recording side using ASLRMixer would be much appreciated!

Ok install ALSA from skvalex and use ALSA to record calls, works flawless now with CM10.1.
Latest CallRecorder from him now also selects ALSA by default if you select SGS3.

I have a ptt app (tikl) that require phone # to be programmed. but on cm 6.1 it states that the number is unavailable. is there a way i could program that info manually
I did Menu>Settings>Call Settings scroll all the way downZ>Additional Settings>My Phone Number. I put my number in. Then uninstalled and reinstalled TiKL for good measure lol and it popped up with a "Is ###-###-#### your number?" (my number in place of the #'s of course) and I was able to get it working.

thankyou very much worked like a charm just did not uninstall
Since RC2 (i skipped RC1 because the wifi calling issue) many video streams stopped working.....i.e. skyfire (or any other browser) is unable to play any of the 'secrets of the dead on pbs', such as http://video.pbs.org/video/1631639851/ i can hear the audio, but no video is shown...just black.....stock had no problem with these....
i have installed, uninstalled and reinstalled every combination of flash 10.1 (both hulu fixed version and reg) both direct from market and adb, etc...
i am hoping there is a simple solution to avoid wipe, etc....Everything seems great with my rc2, but this flash issue...
i have not had issues with the flash but i did wipe my phone before installing any cm6

Of course I wiped prior to installing RC2....perhaps half of video's that did play do not now...
Main issue I've got with RC2 is that Vignette isn't working right with it. The pictures come out fine, but its when you're viewing the camera trying to take a picture that's the issue - the screen is all cropped up to half the screen size.
Also, there's no option to enable the the camera shutter sound.

Email the Vignette developers about the view problem and they'll send you a test build that fixes it. I'm using this Vignette build on CM RC2 and the viewfinder is perfectly center and undistorted.

would someone with a G2 test if RC2 will properly play http://video.pbs.org/video/1631639851/ ...No browser (even skyfire 3.0) can show me the video (although skyfire seems to allows the audio through).....thanks
Aight guys i found the issue for Vignette! To resolve the issue with how the view is cropped while taking a picture, please do this:
Settings - then enable "show full viewfinder" and voila! Issue resolved!

That wasn't available on the previous build, which is why it was such a problem. Glad the update fixes this.
That's how I fixed my viewfinder as well. ^^
I posted this on siyah thread but i'm also posting it here because i think it'll help more people!
Update V2!I tweaked a bit more the settings for listening to speaker music and for listening on headphones!
Try them and if it doesn't work out for you the old ones will still be here to revert back...

As for now,speaker eq is removed in syiah kernel 1.5rc1...which means the scripts will NOT WORK ANYMORE....
The only thing possible is to enable speaker tuning in sTweaks and use poweramp or mixzing preferably and to try this eq!

Just tuned my phone's audio and now it's melody to my ears!
I just wanted to share my setting with you so i can help someone!
I've attached the files below..
Run them with script manager (download from market,it's free!) and check the option run as root.
Also to make you life easier make widgets on your homescreen(s) so you can change audio profiles on the fly! ^^
You don't have to mess with sTweaks if you want to edit them,just open them with any file editor(prefferably the built in on script manager) and set your own values!
eq headphones is for...headphones...
eq normal speaker is for everyday use.
eq speaker is for listening to music!

Two more things!
1)I'm on cm9!Don't know how it will sound on other roms,try them yourself it wont kill your phone!I also don't take any responsibility for whatever happens...
2)I don't use any other eq for headphones or for speaker!This is the only thing i use!
For new guys that don't know how to do it,just a bit more detailed right here
1)Put the files on your sdcard
2)Download smanager from play store
3)Open smanager enable browse as root
4)Find the files,select the one you want and enable the run as root option and also add them to your favorites(it will be needed later!)
5)After that press run!And voila!
As for the edit part,insted of run press edit on the right..
As for the widget part just add a smanager widget and it will ask you which of your favorite widgets you want to add!
There..all finished!
You don't have to change anything in sTweaks,it's pretty straightforward.
Just run it and it'll do it's job..
It doesnt interfere with anything,you can use sTweaks normally like before..
One last thing!
Read my first post again if you dont get something and the last two bold things especially about if you have any issues(eg. distortion)
Remember,you can edit the scripts it's quite easy...

You need to tick root (su) option before running it, as stated in op.
See that small pirate android button, press it so it's green, then press run. If you want to save it to favorites (for adding homescreen widgets), tick su and fav (star) and then save, now you can add it to homescreen.
I tried these before.. and its awesome... no distortion at all... i would recommend these to anyone ...

This uses siyah's built in hardware equalizer mate in contrast with software dsp manager
and when it comes to equalizers hardware > software!
Some benefits are less cpu overhead and higher quality sound!
But you CAN use both if you like!

While playing some music, run the script with root permissions. If you hear a small pause, it worked.

Yes it def paused it and shut down the music player. The reason I ask is that when I go into STweaks it still shows my speaker amplifier volume as 61 however doesn't the script change that?
Hi....i want to try this but how do i get it to my SD card? I know it's a stupid question. Do i have to copy and paste the script? When i right click the file, there is no option to send to my SD card. Do i feel dumb lol

well i need someone help, i am now on omega rom and v11.1 and i just started to hate how my music sounds while playing it over bluetooth.
I have dsp manager installed.
Also I tried all other custom roms thinking things would be different maybe due to a kernel or modem or whatever but i am disappointed,
Now with this tweak will it have any effect while playing music over bluetooth or would it be without any effect, as in STweaks there are no bluetooth settings like in DSP manager

I have tried a few roms and always install Viper4android for better sound.
But it never works first time with google music player so i install android music player and it will work in that, but if i switch off my music and try again later, Viper will not work in android music and will switch over to working with google music player?
This is always happening, it's not a big deal, if it's not working in one player it always works on the other player.
Is there any way to fix this?

Install v4a as a system app. (Move the apk to system/apps) and disable MusicFx.

Viper consumes 5.3 MB of my RAM whether in background or with Playerpro running (I only use it for headphones), so even with your low RAM I'd be surprised if Viper is at fault.
Do you use any other audio enhancements or tweaks?

use titanium backup, convert it to system apps. The reason you cannot move the apps was you forgot to mount the system, data to r/w.

I use pixi music player. Not good even i use no enhancements. Actually my device become slow when i enable viper and when the lights goes out my mobile gets hanged and no solution rather than removing battery to switch off the phone..
I guess enhancement is equaliser yea??

No,, I figued it about three months ago. It was due to low processor and somehow the low ram was also responsible for that...Use of Antutu CPU master so;ved my problem..

It is supported, this app feed is utter bs otherwise you wouldn't be able to watch HDR videos on YT.

I am getting the error on the Play Store version so i am trying alternatives.
Moreover i installed the DRM info app and it showed some interesting results
It shows my widevine level is L1 but netflix says it's L3
And the drm info also shows my S10+ doesn't support wide colour gamut and HDR

Are you perhaps rooted? If so, try liboemcrypto.so disabler module.

The widevine level wouldn't have been L1 if my phone were rooted.

My phone is rooted and I'm on L1 though. According to the screenshot you provided you are stuck on L3. As I said earlier, the output from the DRM Info app is broken. You should trust what's Netflix outputting. I would recommend clean flash if that's a valid option to you. I'm afraid there is no other solution I can suggest. You should be able to install Netflix from the Play Store after you format your phone (give it a few minutes, maybe an hour (at first you might get "not supported" error, that's why you should wait) and do not restore backup yet).

U can try this, it worked for me. Uninstall the Netflix app wait for a while and then download it from the Samsung Galaxy Store. That should work.

Go to settings -> Display and switch the colour profile from vivid to natural. Now test it, it should definitely work ?

Still weird, I'm on exynos s10+ and display is on vivid. No problems with hdr.

I have redmi k20. 10 days ago an update come for my device. Just after updating, my phone lags . I do a hard reset and after that whenever i use any app, it shows 1. system ui is not working 2. Security is not working 3. Camera is not working and after that i tried custom miui roms to get rid of this. after that everything is solved in miui 12.1.4 but the mic, speaker is still not working. i tried all suggested methods. It works for a day and again i am using it without speaker and mic. bluetooth earphone is also not working.
Kindly someone help me.

Indian MIUI had some sort of bug related to audio. You can try to flash custom ROM with proper firmware, like china or global
Same problem happened with me too. I tried more than 30 ROMs. None worked. I even tried changing the hardware (audio ic And some more ic) didn't worked too. I am hopeless now. It has become like a toy now. If you get any way to fix it. Please update me.
Only ROMs or different firmwares also?
P.s.
I have searched MIUI forums and someone figured out it's related to google assistant - you have to root and disable google assistant and google search

Hi. im facing the same problem as well after updating. no sound being emitted (videos and calls) and videos are not playing. Also, netflix can't be played. Is there any way to solve this issue? tried rebooting and all. I am not much of tech geek. so can someone pls explain it in lay terms PLS HELP THANKS
