Is it possible for me to set the default save location for the camera to the internal memory instead of the external SD card?
I have tried the settings in camera and can't seem to find anything about it.
Thanks a million,
Niall

Hi!
I have an external MicroSD Card and I am using it for TomTom and other applications. So the card is working great.
But I tried to change the settings of the cam to store the pictures to the external flash instead to the internal (small) one. I can change the setting but it does not work. Next time I check the settings the default storage is again the interal flash.
Any ideas?

Johannes
Same thing happened to me. My Vario II would not remember the setting. I fixed it by selecting the memory icon from the camera screen (the small picture of the storage card at you will see when the camera is activated). It seems to remember this setting rather than the setting in the Settings menu. Strange!
Hi,
thank you for that information. You are right, with this hint it is working...

Johannes
Anyone else having a problem getting camera images to be saved onto the SD card. When i start the camera application it asks me if i want to use my SD as the storage location. I agree. it is a 2gb SD. I take pictures as I would with the main mem as the storage loc. When I go to look in the folder I see no pictures! I checked the foder value in the registry and it is correct.....
ideas?

When in the camera application and you go through the tools menu to see where it's storing the pictures - does it confirm that Storage Card is being used.
There are some things to note:
You cannot have "network folder" enabled and store to the storage card. If it is enabled you must disable it and then use the menu in the camera to select storage card.
Sometimes the camera does not auto create the My documents>My pictures directory on the storage card. If not you can create it.

hi there guys
got an hermes 300 here... this is the problem:
when i got it i didnt had the storage card, the microSD card i got few days ago, a 2Gb Kingston... the card is well functioning and no problems...
before the card, everything was saved to main memory of ppc, aswell as MMS, camera pictures etc etc etc... now when i have storage card its same, dunno why? in camera settings i can switch only between main memory and network, no storage card shown... MMS is same, every copy is saved to main memory and it fulls it... nothing is saved to storage card... how to automatically switch all storage to storage card?
thx guys
Well where the apps store things is not automatic. In other words you need to go into an applications settings OR make changes to the Registry to set for example saving SMS or IE temp files from main to storage card.
Now the exact changes you need to make are already posted in this forum so searches should produce results. (if there is a particular setting you cannot find then ask again in this thread)
Now, a slightly different issue is where the camera stores photos:
Uunfortunately the camera is only capable of saving to one of two locations at any one time so:
If the view network folder is NOT enabled you will be offered:
"Main" or Storage card" and once set it will remember your choice and not ask again.
BUT with Network folder enabled and a storage card inserted you will:
be asked if you want to use "StorageCard" every time you start Camera, but in camera tools you will only be offered "Main" or "Network" even if you chose the card. It will not set to storage card even if you said you wanted this when camera started.
So, if you want to use main memory with a storage card inserted and don't want the silly question about using storage card each time, then you must disable the network folder. (Use Resco or Total Commander to do this - forget now if regular File Explorer does it)
Equally if you want to save to storage card you will also need "network" folder disabled otherwise it will save to Main memory even when you say yes to Storage Card on start up of the camera application.
The default setting for the Network folder is disabled, so if you are having problems it is likely to have been enabled by using the likes of Resco or Total Commander.
Cheers

Did a search under the HD2 forums and got nothing. I don't have an SD card yet, and I currently cannot take any pictures because it is set to save to the SD card. Am I totally overlooking something, or can you not change the default path that the camera saves to? I'm using the newest Clean Desire build and have tried the default camera app as well as Camera 360. Thanks in advance for the help.
Only really able to access a 'primary' storage location - either the internal 2GB storage or an SD card. The MIUI apps do not support multiple storage locations, so although you can access the secondary location at /mnt/emmc manually only photos stored there will be detected, not music, and there is no way to select it as storage for photos/videos taken using the MIUI camera app.
What does this mean? I cant access my SD Card? Or only photos goes to my internal memory? or i choose a storage and all files go there? (apps goes too?)
Thank you!!
only stockwell is allowed to answer this or can we also try??
Sorry it was late at night and I was struggling with the explanation, lol.
You choose either internal or external (external is set to the primary by default) and that's where the music player will scan for music, and where the camera will store photos. You can still access the secondary memory at /mnt/emmc.
Apps will still be stored on the phone like normal in /data.
If you've used MIUI before then nothing has changed, I just wanted to make it clear about how the storage works, though I guess I didn't do a very good job.
Hahaha spirosbond you're allowed too! Stockwell thank you for your answer! Btw , on landscape mode with gemini it doesnt show me any green line! The port is very good and still can't find any bugs in it all work great except the Gemini decoder on portrait mode.
Again, thanks very much!
