Hello All,
I was running CM7 encore 7.2 stable version and just went to cm-9-encore-20120508-0700-unofficial.zip on my nook color. Everything went fine, dDid not have any lock screen/ password before but now it is asking for one. I have tried 6 unsuccessful attempts and it gave a warning that after next 4 attempts all user data will be wiped off. Not sure how to get in without losing my apps /data
Thanks in advance
Deep
Do you have any certificates loaded (eg, for 802.1x)? That forces a PIN or password, which will be the same password as the secure storage one.
I ended up deleting the data and caches and installing and had all my apps installed manually. Most of the data is there. the nightly freezes frequently though.
Thanks a lot,

Hi,
I installed a recent nightly and everything is fine, however, when restoring my TWRP backup (CM10.2), my encryption password is no longer recognised and system won't boot.
The password is accepted by TWRP and also by restoring the OMNI password, but when I restore the CM10.2 image, the password is not accepted.
Has anything major changed in dm-crypt?
Thanks.
Yes, 4.4 changed the encryption algorithm to use scrypt. It was converted when you upgraded, so you won't be able to switch between without removing the encryption

Thanks, I had to remove encryption, restore and encrypt it again.
Looks like I have to wait a while until all features are added into omnirom (quiet hours, battery percentage (!) etc).
I've installed CM7.2 and then flashed the 20110828 CM7.2 gapps. When I try to setup my Google account, it always tells me the password and user name don't match. I'm definitely using the right user/password though.
I've tried this with CM7.2 and MiRage. I've tried installing the ROM first, booting, setting up WiFi, making sure the date/time are right, then going back to CWM and flashing gapps... I've tried flash both at the same time... I'm clearing system, data, cache, dalvik, when I start over.
At a loss here... had this working a while back, upgraded to CM10, now trying to go back. I swear I'd recall dealing with this 2 years ago when I first installed CM7, but can't remember a fix. Any help is appreciated!
Hi folks,
I am currently run CM12 12-20150204 nightly, everything seems to work fine I just have an issue with the lock screen.
I enabled patterm lock an that works ok and it will let me switch between pattern, pin or password lock.
But it wont let me switch to None or Swipe.
Both None and Swipe options are greyed out with "Disabled by administrator, encryption policy, or credential storage"
Could some one please advise me of a fix or point me to a link.
I did read some where to edit the build.prop but the line to be edited wasn't in my build.prop
Regards
Torr
Try adding the line manually. But make a backup before that. Just in case
Hi thanks,
Been a bit busy yesterday , do think I could find that thread again to edit the build.prop
So no fix yet , just have to live with it for now I guess.
Using TWRP 2.8.4.0 I tried advanced wiping of System , davlikcache and cache then re-installing 07/02 nighly but the pattern lock screen still persisted.
What finally worked , I deleted locksettings.db, locksettings.db-shm and locksettings.db-wal from the root data/system folder.
when I rebooted the security lockscreen is now back to swipe :good:
Only issue if i go into "choose a lock screen" None and Swipe are still greyed out , so if I select pattern , PIN or password , I cant go back to None or Swipe.
Hope this is of some help, thanks everyone who took the time to read my query.
If theres a better solution please reply.
Regards
Torr
The only other solution I see is to either install another version of CM12, or go with a completely different rom altogether
The lock screen data seems to be stored in the data partition, so unless I fully wiped that I'm not sure a different version of CM12 would of fixed my problem. I did have 05/02 nightly with the issue an it was still present when I went to 07/02 nightly.
I take it that you usually don't do a wipe before flashing an update to the rom you're using?
Wiping data, cache and dalvik cache is recommended to prevent bugs. Even if it's just an update to your current rom.
You are correct , I don't delete data, But I always delete cache and dalvik cache .
If I have issues I delete system as well.
If the previous doesn't sort my issues, as a last resort I delete data as well as the above or I restore to a previous working state.

Well, I guess that might have caused your issue. Try doing a clean flash next time you update or change roms.
One Plus Two (chinese version), oxygen os 2.0.2, twrp recovery & supersu.
If I try to encrypt the phone storage (settings -> security), accepting all the warning, the android robot appears a few seconds, then the phone reboots itself, but the device is not encrypted.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
I've tried also to do it in safe mode, but the same result, reboots and the device is not encrypted
I wiped the device and started from scratch and now it works
I think that it was my mistake because I was trying to encrypt it using PIN protection instead password... so maybe I didn't need to wipe it but...
Same problem on OneA2001

Can anybody provide more details on this issue? Im having the exact same problem; Phone is 100% charged, Click encrypt and the phone briefly reboots but doesnt encrypt. Ive tried both PIN and Password as options but neither seems to work....
If you are using twrp I don't think it works. They don't support encryption on the OPT yet.

Twrp cannot read your internal storage, but you can sideload otas, zips,...
Try a full wipe and encrypt it before starting to install apps... (it worked for me...)
if you encrypt while in OxyOS 2 you can keep the encryption and move forward with OxyOS 3 and onto other custom ROMs.

hi to all this problem i have is only on the note 4 not any of my devices stock rom also and rooted
these last few days it does not ask me for a password when buying apps id did a few days ago but now it just accepts it so it skipped the password part all settings is on to ask every single time but it doesn't
i rebooted
i rested the play store and cleared data and cache i think a accidentally press the remember me for this devise and now i cant get it off even tried changing my password that helped last time but not now any ideas
Hi, if nothing worked or helped, you could reflash the stock ROM of your device, but this will delete all you app data! (Internal storage won't get deleted.)
