A preview of the phone replacement app that I have been working on for 2+ years.
FAQ (Questions posted on my site)
1. Does it support 240x240
Nope. Most 240x240 have a keyboard and most importantly, there isn't much space left for such an interface. That's why candy bars are rectangular, not square.
2. What are the requirements?
NautilusVX runs on WM2003SE and WM5. Given all the fading/alphatransparency (even on WM2003SE!!), memory consumption works to a hefty 18mb of RAM. There will be a lite version available without all the frills.
3. Will you be able to make a version that looks exactly like the iPhone?
Nope. Even the iPhone in itself is not perfect. NautilusVX strives to combine what the author thinks is the most practical from all phones while maintaining a good level of style.
4. Will NautilusVX be able to place and receive calls?
Yes. Absolutely, definitely.

all skins, graphics, ringtones, smstones are customizable,
but layout is not.

it runs on my asus p535 and o2 mini so far.
more videos and torrents of actual video files will be released shortly

tell me what you wanna see... maybe that will convince you it's real.

Let me only see how to edit a contact and how to put a call without stylus, and I will use my Touch for (almost) any test you like !!!

Hmm.. just to understand, is *editing* a contact important?
Or do you just need to create?
I was thinking of putting off editing for now, but if you can give me a good reason why you need to edit your contacts so often, I will reprioritize..

Editing is important coz not every time people are free to fully fillup the contact so it is required.

Ok, fair enough...
But how about this, when you are trying to fully fillup the contact, then you are probably free.
And I guess you should be free enough to take out the stylus..
This is the reason why editing a contact was originally put off for a later date.
Creating a contact is a different story though.. especially when you are getting a number from a girl hehe

Recommended Apps on the Market

So I got g1 last night and I love it, downloaded a few apps from market so I figured I would share recommendations for apps I have so far. First tmobile hot spot locater is a must. Also got myspace which is cool but not really needed. Wikimobile is awesome, a must have and any cut program allows you to place shortcuts on homescreen on just about anything on your phone, including battery. Which programs has everyone else found useful, recommend?

Yes sir it is a great app a must have mikey my man! Starting to think I don't need internet sharing g1 internet is blazing fast!

Anycut: ***** Great little app that makes anythign info a desktop shortcut. Very handy for battery info and network settings
Bonzai Blast**** Amazing and addicting game. Only proble is that it sucks your battery life
WikiMobile**** Does a great job of mobile implementation of Wikipedia. Great for looking up facts on certain things. Try looking up the G1

Would you recommend it over shopsavvy? Updated my first post as well, by the time I'm done my first post will take up the first page lol.
As far as the file manager its a good start but can't open most of the files which sucks.

I do recommend Compare everywhere over shop savy. Compare averywhere has more products...

Sweet....thanks man I just got it....some people complain about the apps,but they are doing pretty well uploading stuff,consideing the device was relased a week ago.

Cool thanks gonna switch em out right now!

I didn't like the solitare interface. It was a forced landscape, and the card sizing is funky...not the cards themselves, but the symbols/numbers. They should've taken a cue from WinMo and made the hearts, diamonds, clubs, spades oversized so that they're more visible.

Offical SKY + App now in market place

Just noticed now that Sky have finally released their Sky + app into the marketplace.
Only thing missing from the Iphone one is the planner view but everything else looks spot on.
It's under the free section so hopefully this is now released, means the Sky sports one is coming soon

Pocket Legends!

Hi Guys,
Just thought i'd start a thread about this game, it's just been released in Beta format for Android - its originally an iphone MMO RPG game. You create a character and go off on quests with buddies - similar to WoW but a lot more basic...
Anyway its a freebie and a great little game so worth a go - its 28mb download size though so may wanna grab it while on a wireless connection.
It has great 3D graphics and runs really smooth!
Maybe see some of you guys in game - im Atolo a warrior

This game is so much fun. I've been playing it all weekend since I read this topic. Leoevo level 13 archer. The only problem is now all my friends without smartphone think I'm this ridiculous nerd now. Any fix? Lol

guys im having sometimes 70second(70'000 ping) lags (190-290 avg ping) every 10 minutes with my wifi connection ... and sofar no lags on my hsdpa (290-390 avg ping) hows it going for you ? im thinking its rom related or game world ? im sure id see some feedback if it happened for every one !
im using mdj 1.6 revoluton sense

problem fixed by changing to CM6.1 build ... now touchscreen freezes are back ... fml
EDIT 2 :
changed back to yet another Sense build , now no wifi dc and no touchscreen freeze , guess i hit the sweet spot

This Game is brilliant, got to level 17 and now looking at buying Platinum so i can keep playing.

Fine game indeed

Another good free game from Market is Pocket Empires. You build up cities, tech levels, fight monsters and opposing players, and build wealth. It's another MMORPG, has alot of cool features like alliances, stock market to trade goods/troops, huge map, thousands of other players, world/alliance/market chats, plus you don't have to play it constantly. You can put it down and come back to it on your own time. If you guys get tired of Pocket Legends, and want to try another game for awhile, check it out
