Recognized Contributor Nomination/Application - XPERIA X8 General

Hi everyone,
The same board are circulating thru the entire forum in search for the potential and deserving people to be recognized for there great help and contributions they made inside the community.
<>
As of now there are only two of us here (me and lucastan96 has the tag "Recognized Contributor" and obviously you know the reason why we have that special recognition. I can see that there are so many of us here are potentials and deserving as well to have that tag with the benefits to access special boards, meet new friends, entitled to have premium host and ads free accounts.
So for all of you guys wants to have that tag I am challenging and encouraging everyone to follow the path that we took.
Before we can nominate you to be one of us. Let us discuss here first who are deserving people to be nominated
Here are some question to answer.
1. Why are you deserving to have the tag?
2. Tell us something about your contributions and help. (with links on the contribution).
Note: The nomination will start here before we brought it up to RC Nomination Board. Lets us discuss here first if really the person is deserving for the Recognition

wow, nice thread.
I Think maybe b.jay or eagleyetom could be a recognised contributor. I dont know how many guides they have, but eagleyetom's thread on how to create a cm7 rom guide thing helped me

Yes they might be nominated as I can see some FSM with RC tag as well..

I'm not as helpful as deedii or lucastan96

I'm not sure how I come across throughout the X8 community but I do have an extensive amount of knowledge About the phone .
Here are some of my threads:
CM7 WiFi Fix -
A quick and simple fix for X8 users (possibly all CM7 users) to restore their WiFi after having tried all the troubleshooting guides.

Really simple guide for new ANDROID users on how to boot into the multiple recoveries we have.

Youre actually one in my list for nomination IrishStuff09
We will see the feed back from our dear members
@tom I beg to disagree

That's really nice to hear, deedii.
Thank you!

Wow! Deedii, somehow I knew this thread was gonna open soon. And it did.

Yes your welcome im encouraging you to continue helping in the community.
I envy some community with so many RC members. I would love to see X8 community as well with lots of helpful people around, in case the time we also have to leave our legacy of helping hands will still continue
any other nomination/applicant?

I would nominate IrishStuff and Rohin to be RCs.

Im sorry, but you'd be wasting your time by trying to make me a recognized contributor...I can't become one because I have 1 warning and 1 infraction...so I will be turned down either way...I'm touched that there are those who would recommend me ...that's reward enough...and I recommend Irishstuff09, Wilbso, Spevky and Chris95X8 as recognized contributors

EDIT: /oh nvm/

Thank you developers

I am creating a thread because I don't know how I else can show my gratitude.
But I just want to thank all the developers that give us these ROMs. Its amazing how much work and effort you put into development just for us! A simple thank you is no way near enough.
I don't understand why some people (fortunately, just a few) complains over bugs, WLODs etc. - considered the many hours being put into it and given it away, we should be thankful even if the phone can't be turned on.
At the moment I am running Wolfbreak's ROM v. 054 without any issues at all! The battery lifetime is just mad!! 88% after +10 hours. For me, that's way better than SE 2.1 stock!
Again - Thank you
Yes very good job! Congratulation to jerapela wolfbreak zdzihu and all other who give us a perfect xperia x10!

Just an idea: by throwing some bucks their way!
I totally understand that times are hard and there are not plenty of money
to spare, but I bet each one of us can provide a dollar or two.
Awesome.. i'm sure the dev's appreciate it.
Yes XDA has given many new wings..

In my case - with Wolfbreaks amazing work, I've saved many 100$ (2000-3000-4000 Danish Kroners) by extending the life og my X10, instead of buying a new phone - so throwing a couple of dollars his way, is the least I can do, so I will definitely do that.
I believe that might be the case for many of those using ROMs by zdzihu, trip, jerpelea etc.
XDA provides the 'thanks' button feature for this. I'm sure no developers are gong to read these threads as a new one gets started daily. All this really does is clutter the forums with threads that help nobody. I know the XDA app doesn't have the thanks button (it should!) but if you want to thank them bad enough to start a thread how about opening the browser and thanking them officially instead, that way its actually reflected in their profiles here.

Of course I could "just" use the "thanks" button - but I felt that starting a thread and writing a few words of my gratitude was the right thing for me - regardless of the devs reading it!
I don't believe that starting a thread and say thank you is a wrong thing to do

X8 development - there is none

Sorry I do understand the devs are working hard but progress is slow
Okay, no offence...... But clearly you can't read, have you not seen the many threads to bypass the locked bootloaders. These threads have hard working devs attempting to make custom rons even with the difficulties at hand. I understand that progression is slow due to the lack of.devs but we are truly blessed to have devs like racht, jerpelea, doixnah, povanovn, artoseven (sorry if i missed anyone out, you devs are all included). The effort these devs have put in to make this phone a little better is amazing and i definately believe they deserve a round of applause. Not only are there workaround custom roms but there are modules which are made to help OC and add more features to our phone than Sony would have provided us. Furthermore devs are slowly finishing tweaks on cracking the x8 bootloader. These devs and everyone who has ever provided something to improve this phone deserve a round of applause and i think you should apologise for your gurtful comment, cos at the end of the day the devs are helping us

@Administrator. I humbly request this thread be deleted or moved to the General section since it has nothing to do with development.
up :===> 100% agree
I think he means the lack of progress lately, which is somewhat true. I haven't seen ratch update his ROM in a while, and the 'SD card is safe to remove' still exists, and it's been around since the creation of custom ROMs.
Please note I'm not agreeing with the OP, just putting this out there.

If you look around all devs are focussing on kernel building and loading and behind the scenes activity, instead of posting half baked stuff they are posting tested and stable roms
Look at minicm its almost perfect, only one main bug and tethering feature is not available.
Don't worry and have patience.
And if some mod can close or move this pointless thread it would be great.

Totally agree with you, i hated my Xperia Play when it got the boot for ICS, Dev's have changed it some what. Thanks to all.

No, but seriously, the number of people saying thanks or clicking the button here on the play forums is very very dismal.
I have an IncS & frequent that forum a LOT more than here cos the play is my wife's phone.
I post quite less but read through most of the threads in the dev section.
You guys have some really awesome developers & contributors and they have absolute zilch to show for it.
i think the devs thanks meter here should be quadrupled at least looking at the efforts & the time spent.
Plus there are loads of helpful members who actually help with the right advice.
the thanks button is there for a reason boys & girls, use it! it's free!
am sure you all feel happy to see your posts getting thanked, why not those who actually work for it?
in the IncS forums the number of devs are less & the number of 'super devs' are even more lesser.
it's like even if they sneeze there are like 20 thanks...
not putting anyone down anywhere but boy am sure the big boys here deserve a lot more thanks (and donations if you please )
anyhow thank you all - devs, ppl who contribute & help others and basically the play forum...
it looks like a happy family to me
keep it rocking guys

Totally agree with everybody here, big thanks to all the developers that have made our plays worth owning, it's obvious to see among the comments in some of the play threads that some people clearly have no idea the amount of work that goes into all the peeerty things that we get for FREE and the developers make for virtually nothing!!! I hope the donations cover the redbull required but sadly I doubt it :-( BIG THANKS TO ALL THE PLAY DEVS AND CONTRIBUTORS

Haha so you got the flash fever as well Custom android stuff is really interesting/fun to do, and it's also fun to make stuff yourself
I think we "the i9001 xda scene" have delivered like 95% of the total custom i9001 stuff available on the world. there are some other forums who also have roms, but XDA is just the best! the best source for learning for everyone.
Without this forum the i9001 would be crap!

don't compare the desire (ex htc flagship device) to the i9001 (pretty much nothing , just one little improved attempt mid range ex flagship) , makes no sense - it's like comparing nexus devices to zte's. we have almost fullcm9 , full cm7 is on the way , incredibly good gb roms , actually good kernels and a good start for cm10 . appreciate what you have and the people who made it happen - that on their on free time and for no money . compare this to galaxy w / r for the right justice .

Xperia SP / Whatsapp Group

Hello !
Other Xperia phones (Z/Z1 .....) have a Whatsapp group that they can get answers and discuss about smt.
I think that we should create a Whatsapp group so we can get answers instantly.
I created the group. Write your phone num's if you want, i'll add them.
Seeking clarification : Is it dev related or just a general forrum ??
I don't think intimidating devs to participate in normal chats and provide answers like ETAs is a good idea.
PS : I don't know how the other groups like those of Z/Z1 discuss and what info they share to be precise
We have a chat group dedicated to the Xperia SP. Ive just created it and some of my guys will be joining to answer queries. We'll also be putting sneak peaks at developments there too.

It is funny how I get a few reports sometimes about often very random messages,
but most of the time it's not a problem, even fun or people who need help.
But if there's something I really dislike, it's people putting words in my mouth so to speak,
hence here write fictional things that would very well look as if I really wrote that on one of our dev chats.
Firstable, that's not how I would have reacted or answered.
Secondly, things we talk about and new things that are being worked on stay on that dev chat and don't get to be missused somewhere else,
not that it happened yet but just to make things clear for a foreseeable future event.
Finally, on a more general and also personal matter, although opening one other chat accessible to everybody world-wide could seem like a good idea, it would
- 1. Be illogical in face of the public & shared support over XDA, which everyone else with similar problems can have access to
- 2. Create an even more impossible amount of chats & individual issues to handle daily, which in most of our cases is incompatible with the work to be done,
I personally already use most of my free time and would need double to get everything done, I would not / could not be part of such an additional chat.
- 3. I'm ok with groups of communications, maybe on Telegram or FB or whichever you prefer, but do not request us to be there by all means.
So.. I hope everyone gets what I'm trying to express here, the reasons we / I can not cope with (nor survive) such amount of things to handle,
and that in a general understanding the various communities accept the fact we are not armies of drones, sadly only a few passionate devs and contributors.

Oh man you guys seriously like to blow things out of proportion hahaha. Let me clear some few things up and add on to what @AdrianDC has said
We are a bunch of contributors and developers working in the background in ensuring the Xperia SP community get's ROMs and feature sets when available. We are not paid (except for me who donates to some of the lads here) to do work and we invest time hoping to make the days of others to be better knowing that their device is still far more worth than its upfront monetary value
Me, Adrian, Pranav, Boylush, Titan and loads of other devs with the exception of Infected and some stock sony devs are constantly chatting in private in our telegram groups. We've bonded to the point where we're really good friends and it might not seem to be at XDA but it most certainly is at our Telegram Groups
That April Fools joke was a joke. The main reason why its a joke and why creating a group is a joke is because the amount of spam and questions that flow in are too much for only a bunch of volunteers to handle (like what was mentioned by adrian). The closest thing we have to a social networking site for the Xperia SP will be the XSP Facebook Group that I was a part of. The reason why i quit that group is because it was really difficult to answer the same questions again and again even when there was a pinned guide and at some point, a wiki which i hosted to provide a plethora of answers
and as what Adrian has mentioned again, PLEASE don't put words into the mouths of developers, contributors and standard members alike. It creates confusion and etc. When I say it is a joke, it is a joke and if it didn't seem like one, keep it to yourself and don't confuse others by making conspiracy theories. Yes, it is my fault for not putting the jk at the end sooner but that does not give you the right to put words into the mouths of others without knowing the relationship between the 2 parties.
Hope you all understand and don't repeat the mistakes shown here. Cheers
Beside the overreacting comments, I would like you to thank you all again for the amazing work with the XSP.
But remember, it was a "Imaginary dialogue" Never meant to speak in your name, or putting words out of your mouth, or anyone in that matter. I admire your work. NEXT TIME, lets all make a good interpretation of words, shall we?
Thank you.
Ps. Was a silly jk too Obergruppenführer
the joke by fuury was only a joke ...the joke by the users who created the dialogue was only a joke ....the replies by adrian and furry were reasonable replies ....believe me they are talking very nice so don't get them wrong or get mad as i feel some did
so.....how about no more replies here ...can we do that please ? thanks for all the comments and for participating in this show
let's stop it here before it turns to (ding ding ding welcooooome to WWE main show tonight ...BOOOOARRRRRRRR) ....OP please contact any MOD and close this thread
have a nice day all :fingers-crossed: :good:
