Wifi issue after Mango 8107 - Quantum General

Wondering if anybody experiencing Wifi signal issue after upgrading to mango 8107?
My wifi connection becomes very slow and unstable. It sees far less wifi networks than my Android phone on the same spot.
I am using the Telstra ROM.
Let me know if anybody knows any registry tweaks about wifi signals.
Thanks.

I'm having the same problem.
My phone can detect and connect but is extremely slow or does not connections at all.

slow wifi

The slow wifi connection problems still happens to me, both on cm7.0.0 and 7.0.2 .
I have tried my device on network with different security settings (open/tkip/aes), also tried in different network area (home, office, college campus, cafe) the performance are similar: slow wifi connection, periodically hangs or drops off.
I have searched in both xda and other sites, unfortunately, no solution found...
Can anyone post some fix for this or let the dev know about this?
Thanks

[Q] Bad WiFi connection. Any solution?

Hello everyone,
yesterday my new POV Mobii tegra arived. Everything works fine, except WiFi. Mostly i cannot connect to any WiFi network. If I get a connection, its very slow and often disconnects. I found other threads where people facing the same problem, but I didn't found a solution.
With my HTC Desire and other WiFi devices i do not have any range problems.
I tested different ROMs (corvus5, modaco r8, stock, buzz07 kernel) with various builds of the WiFi Driver (AR6k).
Has anyone a suggestion what I could do to get a better WiFi connection? Could this be a hardware defect?
Thank you!
Markus
I have this problem too. I have experimenting with different wireless routers. My operator provide me with a Thomson TG784 that has a weak signal. Now am using a Edimax BR-6504n. It is a bit better. But I am thinking of getting a Netgear WN2000RPT
Repeater. If anyone have a Netgear WN2000RPT please let me know if it is any good.
It would be interesting to know what people are using. So feel free to post the name of your wireless routers here!
If you have WiFi connection issues, it is worth checking that you have Bluetooth turned off. WiFi and Bluetooth seem to share the internal aerial and there are wquite a few posts about the two interfering with each other.
today i made more tests on signal quality. if my mobii says "50%", my router says 0% signal quality. if i'm on the same room as my router is, my mobii says 100% and my router says 13-18% signal quality. what the hell?!
I am having some connection issues aswell. It seems to drop connection but when I switch aeroplane mode off then on it seems to wake up the wireless and connect again. Really annoying, wondering if to return it back to the store.
Is there any fix? running 4.3 and no updates yet.
ps. my router is a Billion 7800n

[Q] Anyone notice the Focus with Mango favoring 3G over WIFI?

I have terrible 3G signal at home and my office. Since updating to the official ATT release of Mango (From the RTM release), I noticed that the phone will not use the WIFI at times until I turn off the data.
Anyone else notice this?
mine always uses wifi unless it's not connected to a wifi network.
wp7 does seem to shut off the wifi connection when its asleep though and then reconnects when you turn on the screen....

YES...I have this very problem. At times, my Focus has trouble connecting to wifi, and at times when it is connected it actually uses 3G/3G+ and then the connection
stalls.
In my case the 3G isn't bad, and neither is the wifi...if i turn of either Cellular data or WIFI then the other will work just fine for data. It is as though the phone has trouble switching between the two.
Finally, I have talked to a couple HTC Radar owners with the same problem in another forum. Besides having Mango in common, we all think it might be related to using Internet Sharing (which I 'hacked' onto my Focus). Do you have the Internet SHaring hack on your Focus?
With my Focus (with Mango update) did not have problem.
With Focus S, experiencing disconnects on WiFi.
My Focus prefers wifi over 3G.
More clarity on my experience:
It does not favor 3G over WIFI. It does check the 3G signal before WIFI and when in a bad coverage area that has "some" connectivity it seems to time-out prior to using the WIFI.
Any advice would be welcome.

ICS WiFi Issue: Possible Fix?

I updated my UK Galaxy Note on Vodafone, yesterday. Immediately encountered a WiFi issue. The connection to my wireless router kept disconnecting then connecting, but sometimes didn't actually even connect. I changed the WiFi frequency band setting (Settings>Wi-Fi>Advanced>Wi-Fi frequency band) from "Auto" to "2.4 GHz only" and this seems to have fixed it. It seems like common sense, but I thought I'd post it anyway as people are having issues with their WiFi on ICS.

I had a similar problem. I have a cisco linsys router.
Anyway I flashed the latest modem LR1 using PC odin (modem.bin) and things seem better so far.....

Changing Wi-Fi frequency band) from "Auto" to "2.4 GHz only" didn't fix it for me. Strangest thing is i have no problem with wifi at work while it doesn't work at home wifi. Notebooks get connected to internet at home with no problems when my Note connects wifi but only connects to internet for few secs after first time it gets connected. Then it loses connection to internet even though it still shows up wifi is connected. Any clue on that ?
I've noticed I've been having momentary WiFi disconnections ever since I upgraded to ICS.
I'm using MyPhoneExplorer to transfer files wirelessly to the device (not via USB), and ever since ICS it has became an unreliable way to transfer files. If I transfer a big file most chances are that the WiFi connection will drop during the transfer, causing it to fail.
The connection is restored immediately but then I have to restart the transfer process as it halts when the connection fails.
I have excellent signal level (physically located close to the Access Point), I tried flashing the latest modem firmware (XXLR1) - twice, I've set "2.4GHz only" in the WiFi advanced settings, all to no avail: I still get these connection drops.
Has anybody got any information about this problem? Been experiencing similar problems?
Thanks!

Wifi issues on Airport Extreme 750AC

The only issue I've had with the phone since receiving it on Friday is network issues using wifi over and Airport Extreme 750AC, that we have at work.
I upgraded to the 6p from a 2014 Moto X, which had no issues at all with the wifi at work. Also no one else at the office has complained about this kind of issue either, with a mixture of Android and iOS devices.
The phone connects to the wifi quickly, with very strong signal strength. But something is interrupting the connection after 10-15seconds, causing full loss of transmission. After another 10-15 seconds of no connectivity, it will come back strong for another 10-15 seconds. At home, wifi signal strength and speed has never been better, using a Cisco e4200.
Has anyone else experienced this with their 6P?
EDIT - This still occurs if I tell Android to connect to 2.4ghz, or 5ghz only, and not automatic. Both 2.4 and 5ghz networks use the same SSID.
EDIT2 - Issue resolved. Was not due to anything on the device, but an issue with the network DHCP instead.
I've brought a Nexus 7 to work running Android 6.0 as well, and it has no issues with the wifi. Posting just in case someone else runs into the same issue.
