Hi guys
I was thinking if there is a bluetooth app that can have a option to change user agent as wp7,iphone etc as we have in browser,we cn easily transfer files between different os phones.
Currently wp7 cn only transfer files with wp7
If we had a bluetooth app with user agent,we cn easily transfer files.

Hello,
Do any of you know of an app that can make video calls between android and a pc? All I really wanted was to see the images from the pc, no need to send any from my desire.
I've been searching for this but can't find anything. There's only Apps like Fring but only works between mobiles.
Thanks

You could just use a VNC client?

Hi,
Thanks for your quick reply, but that's not really what I need. The pc is not mine. I just need to see some live streaming of my friends through their pc web cam in my desire.
I don't understand why, being android a Google OS, gtalk with video not supported. Makes no sense.

I'm coming to Android and the Samsung Galaxy S Model GT-I9000M from using WM6.5 on an HTC HD2. So far, I like the Samsung Galaxy S better, but I miss one thing - I was able to download files directly from my Windows Home Server (WHS) to my HTC HD2 running WM6.5 using Windows IE browser over either 3G or WiFi.
I have tried the Google, Dolphin, and Opera browsers on the Galaxy S. However, I just cannot download files from my WHS. The Galaxy S connects using the browsers to my WHS just fine. I can browse through the contents of my WHS, but when I go to download a file, it tries for a long time but doesn't download anything. Android shows it's trying to download but it just tries and tries and says something like "trying to connect with server".
Being able to remotely download files is fantastic while traveling. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to make this work? I know there are service like Drop Box. They are not what I want. WHS is designed to allow one access to their files from anywhere using just a web browser. So far Android does not seem to be able to handle this. It's my one big complaint. Actually, I have one other, the Samsung Galaxy S camera sucks.
Try skyfire 3.0. I use that to download most stuff from there which i cant download from stock browser

Thanks, but skyfire does not work either. I'm going to have to post this question on an android forum.
Why not dropbox? Dropbox can be accessed via their website from any browser too..
Drop Box is a partial solution. However accessing my WHS gives me access to alk my files. It has a two terrabyte capacity. Dopbix is a partial solution. I can also access my work files via one of the remote desktop apps. However, it's slower and harder to control a full fledged server with a phone than it is to control a WHS. The WHS is a very slick storage device.

Ok, for anyone who is interested in this topic, my Samsung Galaxy S could not download files from my Windows Home Server using any of the browsers I could find. So I went out and got an HTC Glacier (MyTouch 4G). I can access the files on my WHS now using my Glacier and the latest Opera Mini from the marketplace. I can now do every business function that I could on my WM6.5 HD2 and much more. The speeds of T-Mobile's 4G are really incredible. I am one happy customer. I just wished the screen were bigger in the Glacier.

Hmm. Whs uses smb/cifs shares? In that case you need a kernel with cifs enabled im guessing

Resurecting an old thread but the only way that I have been able to access and download WHS files on my anderoid is by setting up WebDavfor WHS on the server and then using WebDAV Navigator Lite
I'm trying to send apk files over Bluetooth to my wife's G2 but it hasn't worked. Any advice?

Transfer
I use the app bluetooth file transfer, it is available on the market. I used it last night to transfer files and it worked flawlessly.

I keep getting an error that says that I some service doesn't work with the phone and that I can only upload. When I upload, it doesn't work. Perhaps the G2 doesn't support Bluetooth file transfers. Is that possible?
Do you need it installed on both devices?

Yes you have to install the app on both devices. I am not familiar with the G2 as I use it with D1 and the A500. From what I remember reading a while back the android BT is lacking on some of the stack that allows for file transfers. This app fixes it.

Oh okay, good. I'll give that a try. Thanks!

Just to let you know I am able to transfer files from the a500 to my Samsung galaxy and vice versa using the stock bluetooth on both devices. On the a500 I used file manager hd and selected share via bluetooth. Once they both connect the files transfer without any problems.
I think default android bluetooth filetransfer only allows certain types of files, like .jpg's and some other media.
Not 100% sure though, but I never managed to send files like apk's.
Bluetooth File Transfer worked perfectly and is actually a pretty cool app! Thanks!
Dropbox works too. I use it across my phone, tablet, and computer.

I use the bluetooth add-on for astro, no problems getting stuff to or from my DZ, which is the same hardware as the g2.
Does Gingerbread 2.3.4 on the nexus have a data log at all? If yes, where is it? And if not, which is a good one to download?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Try aLogCat from the market. It lets you see the application and event logs if that's what you're after
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Thank you mindwalkr. Can you please confirm that there is no native data logger. I find it amazing.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium App
I'm not an expert in Android yet but I think there's no native (as in bundled with the phone) software to see the logs. However with the Google SDK and using ADB via USB you can see them. This aLogCat and other similar software allows you to see the logs from the phone itself which makes it obvious that the logs are there, but you can't see them with a stock Gingerbread. Maybe with a file explorer you can get access to them as well but again you have to download a file explorer from the market so yeah... no native way to check the logs without having the phone connected to a PC.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong
Dose Samsung have anything built it so we can transfer files from pc to phone via wifi?
Looking at airdroid but u need to use a web address (or ip) to login, on the sony z1 it was all built it so u could add the sd/internal storage on your pc (come up like a hard drive on your lappy)
