I noticed that there is a new firmware out for my tablet. I have upgraded to it. will this improve anything? i seem to have the issue as well where my tablet will randomly restart. it even will sit at the asus loading screen, not doing anything.
There is a bit more information on the update in this thread:

I recieved this phone yesterday so plugged in to pc and was offered 2 updates.
The first went fine but the second crashed with an error showing in Zune.
Managed to get it to reboot and it now shows 7.0.7392.0 but is very unstable, it will reboot itself after a while and it doesn't matter what program I am using, all seem to make it crash.
It will get stuck at the "Samsung Omina 7" screen unless I take the battery out for 5 mins
I also can have problems turning the device off, sometimes it will just come back on and refuse to be turned off !
I am thinking its either overheating or corrupted software ?
Any ideas as what I could try before it goes back ?
Flash stock ROM, the update went wrong appearantly.
Try to recover in Zune maybe first
I was able to recover/roll back to previous firmware with Zune but it didn't fix the problems.
Replacement on its way for Friday
Thanks for your replies
It's your problem, not phone 's,friend.what I puzzle, why donot update to mongo beta?it runs stable and you will have a better experience.and how to flash stock rom or roll back to 7004,you should have a look at tutorial threads.
I now realise that the update failed due to the phone
crashing during the process.
I have updated the new phone and her sisters without a hitch this time
Don't want to play with Roms etc as I have had enough that on my
Galaxy S !
it seems like my problem .. I can't use my phone couse it's usually shut down by itself..
it's a hardware issue .. return it back and get a new one before you leave the place like I did ..
Hello everyone,
I have an opportunity to get a transformer for pretty cheap. Issue is seller says that often the tablet freezes or reboots while in sleep mode. He is running stock ics, no root. You think it is just software and rooting it and loading a custom rom would fix the issue or is it hardware related?
Thanks for your help.
Mike
Both these problems are known to be present in the asus rom. If its really cheap go for it root and flash [ROM][ICS] Codename Android v1.5.0 it stopped my tablet freezing and boot looping at night.
Snatch it up. Some users fixed it with a factory data reset. If not, ASUS should have a new firmware to help with most reboots within a week or two (according to their UK facebook page)
Hi everyone,
I've got a Acer A500 (Acer_A500_1.139.04_COM_GEN_1) on 3.0.1 and I can't seem to upgrade from it in anyway.
I've tried using the automatic download via the tablet, and it always gets stuck then cancels. I've tried this at least 15 times already, and have given up on that idea.
The second option I did was downloading the 1.139.04>Ice Cream update and updating via the PWR+Volume Down button but when it loads it just takes me straight away to the Android man with the "!".
I have no idea what else to do, It's starting to get me really frustrated. Any suggestions out there?
Hi!
So i've recently had some issues with my Samsung galaxy s8+
With the introduction of the new Pie Beta update i thought it would be cool to try it out!
I had to downgrade my firmware and so i did via ODIN.
This failed initially duo to a bad cable, i quickly replaced with OEM one.
Alright! We are able to boot into the OS, i stuck my SD card in the phone and updated its firmware succesfully.
HOWEVER; My phone would reboot once in a while out of nowhere and i figured i was on a Beta that might cause issues
started removing all of my apps in hopes it would help. Unfortunately in either safe mode OR clean factory wipe.. I was still running into reboots.
Alright ok, eventho no one on the forum complained about reboots.. I'll take my loss and i'll just flash back to stock..
However; it seems like the phone just freezes up now in everything!
Freezes up in Download mode; Freezes up during boot of new OS
i was able to reflash via ODIN by the way it just wont let me load into the OS. I've tried different ROMS
I can't wrap my head around it!
Should i just take my loss and buy a pixel 3 ? i was hoping to extend my contract with the new Samsung Galaxy S10+ but i can't do without a phone for a month.
Thank you in advance!
UPDATE:
I've succesfully been able to load into the OS at the moment. Let's see how long this lasts!
Aaand about 6 Minutes later i get a reboot
Yeaaah, it's dead.. After rebooting more and more frequent
It doesn't turn on anymore.

Hi! I have an issue with a 64gb Nexus 6p (running stock android 8.1, latest patch, unlocked bootloader)
The phone consistiently runs extremely slow (taking 5 minutes to boot) and animations heavily lag, to the point where they are displayed over the top of the phone (I can unlock my phone using my passcode while the phone is still displaying its boot animation, for example, as it has booted but the animation has not stopped)
Also, occasionally half of the screen flashes white, back to normal, white twice, then the entire screen goes black, at which point it then returns to normal. This stopped when I flashed Lineage, however I have since restored the phone to stock and it has come back.
So far, I have tried to:
reflash updates
install a seperate kernel
install different ROMs
but nothing has worked
Would anyone be able to help?
It seems to most likely be a board issue, but I am still holding out hope that it could be related to software.
Try flashing its original stock firmware no updates. Load nothing else. If it's still doing it, it's hardware.
Some rootkits can survive a factory reset but not a firmware reflash; pre Pies OS's are vulnerable.

I already have tried that, several times.
Guess it's a hardware issue, then - regardless, thank you very much for the help.
I wonder what specific part of the hardware could cause this issue. I remember reading a user on this forum at one point have a similar issue, however he unrooted his 6p and the issue went away.
