I'm looking forward to your findings.
Hopefully it will work in different situations, only had the chance of testing and debugging it on my tablet.
will this work on my PB Liberty Tab (G100W) running HC 3.0.1?
my android version is 3.0.1
and build Number is PB_G100_1.013.02_EMEA_GENS
great share!

yes, with this you can install recoveries, root your tablet, and even return to stock through the update.zip method for eg. selling your tablet !

If this a500 version works fine for everybody, i intend to make a a501 version of it. I advice not to use it on A501 because on ics it seems that the a501 has different bootloaders.
I want actually to install ICS Custom/stock rom with ICS bootloader,
Could you tell me the steps to follow,
Once I install ICS bootloader while I am on HC stock, then I cant boot, so should I flash a ICS rom from CWM immedietly after installing ICS bootloader? or I have to install ICS stock Rom first then ICS bootloader??

1) best to put the ota update zip on the root of your sdcard
2) boot your tablet with vol min pressed until you see recovery image loading
3) then you will end up or in the actual recovery you installed or it will begin flashing the ota ics
4) when you are on ics and you have enabled usb debugging, you can then flash the matching kernel for the ota you had installed (eg version 1.031)
(without the correct kernel on ics, certain recoveries wont work)
5) after reboot, flash recovery and bootloader again
6) remove the sdcard from your tablet, remove the update.zip and put for example flexreaper or any other cwm rom on it. put sdcard back in your tablet.
7) reboot your tablet into the recovery and flash your custom rom you put on your sdcard in the previous step, and your good to go.
you should have done the update.zip method in the first place, or go to ics through the official update system.
Many thanks for the Guide,
I will try as guided...
for Packard bell, official ICS updates are not rolled out yet...
only one doubt in the item 1 you mentioned is internal SD or external SD??
thanks again
Ok I tested it , my conclusions:
-Tablet info section= 10/10
Very easy getting your cpuid and SBK , one click , nice.
-Back to stock= 8/10
I get it but I do hope the new users get how it works so maybe more info with link to full packets thread and link to decrypter thread .
-HC= 9/10
In browse , I would remove the custom bootloader , for HC you only got the A501 and A500 bootloader , for some it would seem that they can flash a custom HC bootloader like on ICS. (My opinion , thinking on newbies)
-ICS=10/10
Everyhting what you need is there.
-Kernel and root = 7/10
Tricky stuff here , maybe better to provide the full stock kernels also (no sys rw hack)
Also I would make clear that only installing the root doesn't give you system/rw acces without installing the hacked kernels.
And make clear that these are not tweaked or OC kernels.
(you are free to add kernels from my thread and if you need a combination just pm me)
-extra stuff =10/10
Overall 9/10 , I flashed a few recovery's and bootloaders using the pre build in packages and using browse and picking my own stuff , really nice and easy !
Maybe a idea for later and do the same as my m8 blackthun3der and allow prebuild packages (.a500apx).
For the A501 , if you download the flash tool from my guide you will find the bootloaders for the A501 in there , if you can't find them let me know !
edit
One question , did you use the correct bootloader to go into apx because for ICS V6 it is a different one then to use when you install HC bootloader. (reason)
Download my tool package from the guide and look for
dlmodeblhc.bin = for a500 getting into apx when installing HC bootloader
dlmodeblhc501.bin = for A501 getting into apx when installing HC bootloader
dlmodeblics.bin = for a500 getting into apx when installing V6
dlmodeblics501.bin = for a501 getting into apx when installing V6
and then you got the HC bootloaders
hcbootloadera500.bin
hcbootloadera501.bin
And ICS bootloaders
ics_boot_unlk_V6_500.bin
ics_boot_unlk_V6_501.bin
Works perfect for me! Thanks! Makes things a lot easier

i meant external sd
I just went back to full stock hc 3.01 on my g100w, stock bootloader and stock recovery, through the update zip method. (one ive downloaded from vache's romlist), i enabled usb debugging on that system and imediatly flashed ics bootloader 3.14.6 + thor recovery v1.72 from the "ics" tab on my program.
Rebooted the tablet afterwords and i could not boot into honeycomb like you say. Then i removed the external SD card from the tablet and put ota ics version 1.031 on it, put it back in the tablet and rebooted the tablet with vol min pressed.
Thors recovery came up, and i did :
1) "choose zip from SD card"
2) in the next menu i choose "update.zip"
3) in the next menu i choose "yes install update.zip"
4) it starts flashing the official ota ics
5) after flashing go to "wipe menu" and do : "wipe data" , "wipe cache" and "wipe dalvik"
6) after that go to "power menu" and reboot your tablet
7) go through the initial android setup (choose wife, choose language etc)
8) enable usb debugging in your android settings (its in the "options for devellopers" section, just above "about tablet"
9) fire up afterota v1.00
10) go to the "kernels and root" tab
11) if you installed ota ics v1.031 then install the corresponding patched kernel, in case of v1.033 choose the other one etc. and start flashing the kernel.
12) if kernel flash is done, shutdown and reboot your tablet into android
13) once you see the android lockscreen press "reconnect tablet" on Afterota (on "tablet info" tab)
14) go to the "kernels and root" tab in After ota and press the "copy" button to copy the cwm root package to the internal sdcard of your tablet. If its done your tablet will automaticly reboot. If you see the android lockscreen proceed to the next step
15) press reconnect tablet in Afterota, if connected proceed to next step
16) go to the "ics" tab in Afterota and flash your recovery of choice again, the only difference between "install a500" and "install g100w" buttons is the bootloader logo, so its not a desaster if you think you've hit the wrong button. If see pass on the screen of your tablet proceed to next step.
17) shutdown and powerup your tablet holding the vol min button pressed to get to the recovery, go to "install from zip file", "choose zip from internal storage", choose "cwm_hc_ics_root.zip", choose "yes install ..", go back, "power menu", "reboot" and let the tablet boot until you see android lockscreen.
18) now in Afterota, reconnect tablet, go to the "extras" tab, and "remove recovery killer script"
Tadaaaaaaa : fully rooted ics + custom bootload + recovery

You have some really good tips here, i'll try to import them into the program in the next release. Thank you very much for reviewing the program !
Many thanks again mate,
You have already typed a lot for me, sorry to bother again,
OTA HC 3.0.1 was rooted before you flash ICS bootloader from your program??
If I need only a working ICS rom on my Tab, not rooted no CWM, can I stop at the instruction no.6
A500 / A501 bootloaders have tiny difference (aside from the bootlogo, which I changed back to "green Acer"). I shall probably make V7 universal.
However, can you update the tool packages not to flash V3 - it doesn't allow custom BL updates via. CWM (full support for that is in V5 via both CWM and fastboot).
Hi all, getting ready to experiment on my Galaxy Note I7000. Don't want to make a mistake. Trying to make sure i am doing the right steps. I want to install Kingdroid rom. My Note is rooted as it has the superuser app. It is still on stock android 2.3.6 and kernal is 2.6.35.7-N7000XXKKA-CL726566root
can i just download the zip files and install or do i need to do full wipe first?
since you are on GB its completely safe to do the three wipes in recovery ( also recommended for clean stable hasslefree boot.)
If you are planning to install Kingdroid v 7 or later you must read the opening post and the last few pages and decide from before what you will be choosing in the Aroma (especially the themes and kernel, mods etc), prateek has made a guide somewhere in the thread, or the phone wont boot, so flash away.....
all the best !

this is about post ver. 2.0 Merruk kernel install pertaining to #4833
http://webchat.freenode.net/ and type: /join #galaxy_y to meet THE verY guYs on IRC text chat...
link list:
tagged Merruk main threads !!
#4833 Okt 7th release post , 2012 latest Developer Edition de luxe Version Build #206
#4820 Okt 7th instructions for #4833 and ext4-fs-converter ... pack attached
#3944 Sept. 24th MT-2.5 ver. Kernel, Developer Edition 4 build #164 ; #3944 instructions mostly apply for #4833 too
#4992 mai77 report & instructions on #4833
#4820 states: "If it is the first time you install merruk kernel, flash a working Merruk kernel like Pre-final 2.0 via Odin." (confirmed working!)
Okt 7th 2012, Developer Edition Deluxe Ver. Build 206 is an "all-in-one-file" release ! (kernel-ext4 converter, binary reset are integrated). The filename is still "Ext4_Converter-signed.zip" in #4833 even though it contains the kernel too, together with converter asf..
Additionally, you need an older kernel from #3944 (#3944 is MT-2.5 and confirmed working by mai77, like Ver. MT-2.0 "pre-final" kernel) to gain proper CWM as a prerequisite; this particular older kernel does not need ext4-fs but uses rfs instead ; flash as the PDA part in ODIN; only later do install #4833
files you need:
Elite version modules copy into /system/lib/modules on internal storage (optional download) : http://www.mediafire.com/?0qd2non3v...srl78g48u4y4d,ur7z8oy414u9aw9,5tdae1jatw2qfo1

#3944 prior kernel MT-2.5 build #164 http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1349152&d=1348439120 (required!) pda.merruk.tar for ODIN
#4833 latest Developer Edition Deluxe Version kernel build #206 : http://www.mediafire.com/?c5nl1cf4cye6px4 Ext4_Converter-signed.zip
Doky's stock ROM (may not strictly be needed), see dev. section
##############################################################################
related note: I also tagged attached SGYbiCWM (click for release post) = KernelUpdate.zip and mai77-2.zip
KernelUpdate does not work under MT2.0 or whitexp1.0+ but mai77-2 does. the path /system/bin/dd was altered in the latter kernels. SGYbiCWM flashes a boot.img to SGY
HOW TO INTSTALL MT-2.5 latest , which is build #206 as of Oktober 2012
make sure you have the following 3 files:
1-EliteKernelModules.zip = module installer for CWM
Ext4_Converter-signed.zip = build #206 kernel installer & ext4-filesystem-converter, for CWM
pda.merruk.tar = build #164 kernel with integrated CWM, for to flash with ODIN
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. install MT-2.5 build #164 with ODIN: flash pda.merruk.tar
2. in CWM: create a backup (for use in step 6. THIS IS NOT OPTIONAL !)
3. install elite modules using zip in CWM
4. in CWM menu, choose to create "error report"
5. install latest kernel (use the "all in one"-file) build #206
6. CWM menu "restore advanced": restore system, data, cache but not kernel, from your backup data in step 2.
7. S7 = Step 7 = verify: look up "build #206" string in menu: settings --> about phone --> kernel version
8. optionally root your SGY
THIS WAY I SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED Kernel: MT-2.5 #206 "de luxe"
after 1. you may get FC and non rooted SGY for some odd reason (happened over here, carry on regardless ! )
so you better UNmark "reboot" in ODIN and go straight into CWM by holding UP+HOME+POWER combo, without even fully rebooting into AndroidOS.
Also, this saves time.
after 3. one gets stuck in boot logo, if step 6. is not being carried out, but CWM was still accessible. modules in place.
Only if you restore your backup in step 6. from step 2. you will be able to boot fully !
do step 5. and step 6. in one go ! do not reboot after step 5. !
in step 5. be prepared to be given instructions ("restart now!") which you may not want to follow. Instead of restarting, you should restore first, else you get stuck.
in step 5. the installer says Ver. 2.0 when it is Ver. 2.5, just a cosmetical thing.
optionally read this in case of trouble: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32530811&postcount=4991
###########################################################################################################
there is, however, a much simpler way to do it,
which is without ODIN. Also this is a fast way to rescue your system when it is screwed up. so keep these files on your SD card.
assuming that you are on stock ROM follow these steps:
1. install MT-2.0 build #103 with KernelUpdate-zip in CWM
2. in CWM: create a backup (for use in step 6. THIS IS NOT OPTIONAL, cuz of partition delete in step 5. )
3. install elite modules using .zip-file in CWM
4. in CWM menu, choose to create "error report" (optional)
5. install latest kernel (use the "all in one"-file) build #206, then choose: advanced / reboot recovery
6. CWM menu "restore advanced": restore system, data, cache but not kernel, from your backup data in step 2. (NOT OPTIONAL!)
7. S7 = Step 7 = verify: look up "build #206" string in menu: settings --> about phone --> kernel version (optional)
8. optionally root your SGY
I tested it, it works like a charm !!
for this method you need these files:
boot.img out of Kernel-MT-2.0 .zip file (in post #1 in main Merruk thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1053569&d=1336694938 )
KernelUpdate.zip
madteam-CWM.zip (trusted old temporary CWM)
Kernel-MT2.5 #205 install & converter pack, see above
Elite-module-installer (like above)
###################################################################################
if you installed a "new" SGY system from scratch ( i.e. "factory data reset") or better, you may want to install 3 "essentials" in this proper order:
 1. root the SGY with SuperUser.apk including latest binary with an UPDATE.ZIP inside "Android system recovery" // NOT ALWAYS NECESSARY UNDER MERRUK KERRNEL; MT2.5 comes pre-rooted (I suppose) !
 2. run & install StEricsons's BUSYBOX offline-installer .apk (don't use the installer by JRummy16, because JRummy16's one is an ONline installer)
 3. install Link2SD.apk, which needs both of the above as a prerequisite. Remember to prepare your SDcard with a secondary ext2-partition beforehand !
caveat emptor: to be perfectly honest: Link2SD was tested on stock ROM only by me. I cannot say for sure whether you have the same storage savings under MT2.5, but I will find out later.
report of build #206 tested app & software
* droidwall works 100%
* backup / restore in CWM works
* cpu tuner 100% working, all govs OK
* possibly unrelated: using MyPhoneExplorer 1.8.4 portable, refreshing the complete file list hung = won't finish ever, yet MPE rocks in #206
* possibly unrelated: KIES 2.0 kinda doesnt like the Y anymore under this kernel, but wtf is KIES 2.0 ... lol
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

a little bit complicated for a begginer but sure itll ve fine when i follow steps ryt ?

I have flashed stock DXLF before I install Hyperion, but still i got the same problem. I got this same problem twice.

NICE Guide Sir. thank you for this. Joined IRC>:good::good:
hey thanks mai I got mine working. but mybe you should make the instruction cleaner. I put a lot of annotations when following your guides.
well atleast my kernel is showing [email protected]'s-Team #206
Just 1 question, when restoring you just need to select ONLY system, data and cache right. somewhat makes me think otherwise.
p/s: I think my governors is missing here...just only had 5 governor only.
got it workin in my brothers phone thanks a lot.

What do you mean IRC channel? Sorry for nooby question.
I dont have ext4 or any external storage. Should it work if i flash the ext4_converter? I dont have any stuff in sdcard like swap, ext3, ext4 blah blah blah. What will i do?
using deodex stock rom, flashed the a2sd darktremor after the kernel. quite fast...but keep rebooting by itself after certain period.
btw, I think it is better to post a step and explanation here rather than the IRC channel. Useful for future reference rather than have to keep asking the same question time after time.
it may even be possible to install #206 without ODIN.
install Ver. 2.0 kernel without ODIN, backup, install #206 kernel, restore
somebody might want to test that.
in a #206 system with ext4-fs, I used KernelUpdate to install the Ver.2.0 kernel --> stuck !
put back #206 kernel --> stuck !
so now I ran the #206 installer again. Once you converted to MT-2.5 #206, stock kernel won't work any longer either cuz of ext4 filesystem. lol.

clarify which is which. I want to try with creeds 3.5 ROM but didnt know which is when to flash the custom ROM.

How to upgrade from Gingerbread WF07 to a Jelly Bean ROM on the SHW M110S
Basic Considerations that will help you to restore your current ROM
First make a Backup of your current ROM, such that you can return to it, IF the Jelly Bean ROM is not what you expected it to be. How?
a) When Using a tegrak Kernel on the M110S , you can get this done on the bootup screen , by entering it and making a system and also a dbdata/data backup of your phone, which can be restored by using the terak kernel again IF WF07 ROM is what suits you best.
Your backup will be placed in the Tegrak Folder in the Internal SD card...so save this to your PC or external SD card for safe keeping.
b) When using a Speedmod kernel, you need to enter recovery first to make a nandroid backup of your system and data
Your Backup will be placed in the ClockWorkMod Folder of your SD card. Which can be restored by using the speedMod kernel again IF WF07 ROM is what you desire.
None of these Kernels can be used for Jelly Bean ROM, and you need to use a Version 5 CWM (ClockWorkMOD) recovery, to flash the Jelly Bean or ICS ROM direct from your SD card...as such the first thing you need to do is change the Recovery on your M110S to a version 5 ClockWorkMOD.
Second Backup your efs folder, why? read this. How? read this
What you should know about this Jelly Bean ROM on the M110S
a) It may take from 3 to five minutes for the ROM you flashed to stabilze, so try to be patient or you will have a non responsive phone in your hands, even when the ROM is stable.
b) When ever certain functions do not seem to work initially...like unable to connect to your WIFI, network etc just reboot phone.
c) Poor response may be due to settings or permissions that need to be fixed, which can be done on your settings menu or in the advanced menu of your recovery ...so you must have ample knowledge of the numerous features the Jelly Bean settings menu has.
The Jelly Bean ROM's for Korean Galaxy S (SHW M110S) that have little to NO issues at the moment are
Common Issue in Jelly Bean being having NO Ringtone only vibration
Typhoonoid aokp verion 2.1.2 or here
Typhoonoid paranoid version 1.1
CM 10 All Fixed
Provisionmod All Fixed
JBean 4.2 under construction here only for testers to verify bugs
Reminder, What you do with your Phone is your own responsibility, so do it at your own risk. Always ensure your Battery is fully Charged prior to flashing any phone
This is the basic procedure for Jelly Bean upgrade
1) Download the CWM Recovery.tar ( Attached below), the ROM's come in .zip format ( it can be as many as you wish, for you to test them out, one after the other) and Place them in a Folder (create and name it as you wish) on your SD Card Also Download the Gapps.zip (Google apps) File that need to be flashed after flashing the ROM. ( So it will always be two packages to flash, in order to get your phone functioning)
Download:-
a) CWM Version 5.0 Recovery attached below
b) Rom of your choosing from here or here or here Zip file includes ROM & Kernel (do not unzip)
c) Gapps Here (do not unzip)
d) Ringtone Fix here (Tested not working on M110S)
e) New 4.1.2 Kernel use Odin to flash when using older ROM
2) Flash the version 5 and up CWM recovery on your Phone, How?
Put your phone into download mode, Fireup Odin3 on your PC, connect to Odin3 with USB cable, select CWM Ver.5.0 recovery.tar under PDA and Flash it. Ensure you do not reboot the phone by "UNTICK" reboot in Odin3 such that it will not power ON after Flashing, in case it does power ON, just pull out Battery , press power button for 30 seconds and insert battery again
3) After flashing recovery with Odin, You can enter " Recovery Mode" by press VolumedownKey+PowerKey+HomeKey. You do this every-time you want to switch to a JellyBean or iCS ROM or to utilize the many features this recovery has, like Backup/restore/fix permissions and mostly to do the full wipes (NEEDED to be done every time you want to SWITCH ROMS) etc
4) Once in CWM Recovery you do the Full wipes (use your volume keys to move up or down in the recovery menu to select and the power key to execute that command).
The undermentioned wipes need to be done and will constitute a FULL Wipe of your Phone but your SD card will not be fully formatted as such your Images and other non system files will remain as is.
a) Wipe data / Factory reset
b) Wipe cache
c) Enter advanced and wipe dalvic Cache
Once the full wipes are done,
5) You now choose the ROM you placed in your SD card by selecting "Install zip from sdcard" which will lead you to "choose zip from sdcard", which will take you to all the folders you have on your SD Card..scroll down to where you placed the downloaded files and select it
Once selected the ROM will be Flashed on to your phone, so wait till it says "install completed" Now you do the same selection process again (Step 5) to select the Gapps file and wait till it says "Install completed"
6) That's it, Now select "Reboot system Now".
Now the ROM has been installed on your phone, so let it boot up and you can repeat this procedure to switch again and again till you have the best ROM of your choosing.
Solutions to solve problems, if any
In the event that it fails to boot-up or you placed a wrong ROM that caused a boot loop or any other problem, just look in My Android Solutions , IF you cannot enter Recovery mode to flash another ROM.
or
You can also use Odin3 to Flash a Gingerbread ROM in Download mode and use your First backup ( made by Tegrak or speedMod) to return your phone to its original state.
Ringtone Codec from this post unfortunately it seems to fail in fixing the Ringtone issue but no harm done in installing this codec

This is the fix for Audio/Sound on any Jelly Bean ROM on any device.
JB needs this file "/system/etc/media_codecs.xml"
This file is missing, but simply copying the file there using Root Explorer or any file explorer with root access works. This does not require a permissions change. The file is not there originally so you won't be overwriting anything. I did this fix on my Atrix 4G and it worked perfectly. It is universal and will work on any Jelly Bean ROM on any device with this issue.
Here is a link to the file:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1207669&d=1342668760
Steps:
- Extract "media_codecs.xml"
- Copy it to /system/etc/
- Make sure to mount system as R/W (read/write) before pasting the file
- Reboot
- Sound Fixed!

Final Advice
IF you like the ROM you had just installed and after doing all the tweaks and adjustments you would like to try another ROM, just get back into your CWM recovery , scroll down to "backup and restore" and back it up. Such that you can restore it, if your next selection is below expectations. or you wish to tweak it further at some other time. You can have many ROM's backed up and restored whenever you like...just remember on what date you backed it up.
You , YES! you are an " Android ".

Typhoonoid by ODIN? Tegrek after Typhoonoid?
oh my god, your post is amazing. thank you thank you!
Question:
your post suggests using CWM Version 5.0 to do the ROM flashing. can i use just ODIN to flash Typhoonoid? or do i have to use CWM?
also, i believe that Tegrek kernel only supports stock ROM on the M110S, which is gingerbread. after flashing Typhoonoid, is it possible to flash Tegrek kernel again? can Tegrek lagfix be applied to Typhoonoid?

Nope, you MUST use the Version 5 CWM recovery to flash ICS or Jellybean ROM's and Nope you cannot use tegrak anymore, and lag fix (sort of ) can be done with seeder app already included in the ROM

Not too sure, the others can achieve swap support, but give it a try, it pretty easy to change ROMS and test out, which can do what lidroid screen shots may be on their website here http://bbs.lidroid.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=110092&highlight=lidroid+wc13

NO. its ver 4.1, meaning Jelly Bean, CM 7.2 is gingerbread/ICS combo, try looking in the links given in OP, you need to go into their parent directory and it will clearly state CM 7.2. CM 9 would be ICS , CM 10 would be Jelly Bean.
unfortunately I Have not tested them , so unable to tell you the bugs in each of them.
Oops i am sorry posted wrong link.
I know that that cm 10 is jb and 9 ics

like i said earlier , have little knowledge about its current development or bugs, as far as I know, they stopped short of fixing bugs when CM 10 came into the picture. So best you test it out.
visit PIT STOP for 7.2 version 3 plus guide (click on original post to see screenshots and latest info) and 7.2 perfect version download from here
It means there are no bugs in 7.2cm sms fixed.zip
And there is swap support.

Just one thing I have to flash cm7finalkernel.tar and gapps also.
There are 2 kernel tar files cm7.2oc.tar something like that help.
So there is no kernel in the zip.
Or these kernel have special features.
Thanks.

you use the one that is included in the ROM package. and can be updated with new version of that kernel later, you cannot use gingerbread kernels like (tegrak or speedmod)
[Preroot deodexed]N7100XXDMG1_N7100ODDDMG1_INU_Prerooted_deodexed
I have recieved too many request for deodexed prerooted for latest MG1 on thread as well PM, so i have consider it.
I have spare 1.5 hour right now and hopefully should be fine within time.
Once it will be ready will upload to my prerooted thread
Again this won't be for every ROM, as uploading 1Gb file is difficult for me with my unlimited net with cable. Using 3G is quiet costly here.
Anyway it will be same
No wipe,No flash counter raise + Prerooted ROM + Deodexed + Zipaligned
Thank you all
Ok it's done and will update soon after testing.
