Any of you guys know if ICS Stunner fix the color banding or black crush issues?
I'm fairly new to the G-Note (previous SII owner) , and really annoyed by the colour rendering issues on this device.
Thanks.

As I'm sure you know, not all SAMOLEDs are created equal, most SIIs I've seen are dark and with a blue tint to them, but mine was very good actually ,OK so it was a bit over saturated (easily fixable via movie mode) , but it had no black crush issue , and all images displayed properly.
The note's display is fine but it's like having a grey filter over it, cause the gamma is just wrong, and anything with several shades of grey is non watchable and a mess.
Truth is ,I love the note and would never go back to normal phones again, but I just wish this little inconvenience could be solved.
P.s: I couldn't help but notice that you didn't answer my question , did ICS solve the black crush issue (that's what it's called right?)

In MIDNOTE and AlBa all the Samsung stuff, inluding Smemo, working properly.
In aosp not.
Stuners 4.5 now. But there are some incompatibilities for me:
- STK (sim toll kit) still didn't work
- Contact list search not really good
Anything else is ok!
I installed aosp, cm9 imilka, ics stunner but at moment I have a good feel with alba.

My experience with Aurora is not at all bad. It is fast and mostly stable, but you will certainly find it slower than cm7 or stock for example. But there are no major bugs, only small annoyances from time to time. The only reason I'm not using it is low volume while playing music or videos with headphones. That's why I use a 32 kernel based ROM (in my case, Ezet cm 7.2). ROMs based in .32 kernel don't have any of the issues that the very poor work Huawei did with .35 kernel...

My experience with the rom has been nothing but a joy and fjsferreira is right - there are a few bugs but they are very minor. However some other users are having problems with the wifi.
I think best would be for yourself to try it, and if it doesn't work the way you want it to you can always revert back to what you're using now.

Enjoy
I've noticed a small battery decrease as well from switching from GB. I had to underclock Darkforest to get the same amount.
Still great tho. Just a little slow.
I've only tried regular beta and Darkforest, but I did try 3 different kernels. I found the Darkforest kernel had better battery life than the ICS doomkernel, but worse than advanced stock (when they haven't been tweaked)
The difference in battery life for me between ICS and gingerbread is immense. And as you can see in the Darkforest thread, I had severe graphic errors, lockups.. I thought maybe my hardware was screwed but;
Went to jokawild with doomkernel 11 and all the glitches went away. And my battery life is 2x longer at LEAST. Hour and a half of use took me down to 60%. On ICS the same amount of time killed the battery completely. And I haven't even finished tweaking this gingerbread yet..
Also, ICS was laggy. Constant slight lag, occasional large spikes. Gingerbread when configured right is really fast. If you mostly want ICS for the way it looks and not features, get an ICS theme and stick with gingerbread. The new features, especially changes to system menus and browser, and gapps were great, but simply not worth it IMO.
As time goes on and things speed up, I'm sure it'll become more worthwhile, but not right now

Definitely Sony's ROM and kernel.

There is another ROM than Darkforest??
If there is a topic about this, ban me, but show me.
If not, only show me.
I've tried ROCKET ROM and it's ok, but I wonder if there is another faster ROM somewhere...
I don't care if is based on GB or ICS and I don't care if your suggestions don't offer all the facilities of the phone, I just want the fastest ROM possible for Note.
I like Midnote ICS.
I'm on Kingdroid Deluxe v 7.0 and it is really quick. I like all the customizations too. It is based off Gingerbread
I'm on AlBa ROM and I hafta see, it does certainly feel and seem faster than GB on CheckROM, even though ICS ROMs are limited to 1.2GHz due to kernel.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Try Imilka CM9-v01 , thats perfect ICS or Cassie's XtraLiteRom Version X LC1 for Gingerbread base rom.
It's hard to say which is the absolute fastest but try Imilka's CM9 or ICS Stunner. Both are super quick. Personally I feel CM9 is quicker of the two, it's lighter as well. Stunner has A LOT of tweaks though! Best ICS ROMs IMO!
ICS roms are the fastest and CM9 and ICS Stunner are the best. Stunner is a slightly quicker I think but CM9 is better overall.
I've tried both CM9 and Stunner extensively, and have found stunner to be the smoothest =). Just remember to use flash fix, and enjoy euphoria!
YMMV though because many people seem to be reporting issues with 4.5, but I'm having zero issues. Love it.
Gb its checkrom. For me its been the fastest. V5.
Gb is cassys xtralite rom
Ics is neobudds stunner
Done ha ha
CM9 for sure..n if u believe in benchmarks then here are the screenshot

Haha this is exactly what I was go III Ng to ask open.
Fast in benchmark or UI smoothness or App/game running speed?
Anyway I love checkrom been using all of the version since checkrom, never let down once. Too bad my ICS gas gone hot, gotta jump ship.
Tried ics stunner and teamrocket. Both are MUCH faster and smoother in every single area. Overall ics just have the slick feel that no any GB can deliver, not even close!!
didn't do benchmark though, my opinion solely based on user experience, not benchmarking .
I really love ics stunner ,very fast and stable but u lose Samsung apps and full function spen.

See their website, they have the Gapps download linked on there as well. Just flashed the ROM & Gapps, everything seems pretty nice. It is quite fast, but I'd like to give it some time before anything. I like the weather widget (my favorite looking one, same as on Captivating) as well as the launcher. It's a pretty smooth UI too, in case choppiness bugs anyone.
Any easy way to change the DPI?

It's not so much low interest, it's more of the following:
- New thread, been less than 24hrs and a lot of us work .
- As you can see, there are quite a few ROMs for our cappy's, and some people don't want to try out newer ones until they read reports from other users
Give it a few days, I know there's a few other people who will try it out besides me . So far, no complaints. I would love for you to include a DPI manager with the ROM, but using textdroider DPI from the market works just fine.
Oh and inverted gapps would be cool, as well as a "dark" theme much like SlimBean.
But overall experience so far: 10/10, running flawlessly right now at 182 DPI as the only change.
RE: gamerzrom 4.2.2
If anyone is wondering, the Gapps must be flashed (yes I know it says in OP ) to introduce full functionality to the capacitive buttons and lock screen. I run without the Google apps when I can, mostly using this phone as media/game/alarm-clock device. My first boot and subsequent reboots without the Gapps package were buggy. Running fine since the Gapps flash. I used ROM Toolbox to change the DPI through build.prop. Will report back with more results soon as I can.
Super fast rom thank you so much...is there any way to increase loudspeaker volume? My cappy gives best sound on stock gb 2.3.5
2- is there a possibility to have pause and resume function in video recording like in stock gb 2.3.5?

this is a good rom and one of the few which are lagless and delivers a good experience :good:
all the games work fine and 720p videos also play without lag.
so overall it is a good rom.

Mokee open source project ( yeah its Chinese..... Might wanna Google it so you can translate it.... )
www.mfunz.com/
OK guys, one of the devs over in the atrix2 forum (my phone) not only ported this, but made it official, and its a great ROM, I have some bugs to work out, but I've built this from source and its running good for me, so before I make it a project I'd like a couple testers....
I am running it on philz recovery, and its running cyans kernel, so blackhawk should work....
Bugs:
cyanogen boot animation.... Working on that...
Keyboard: its for Chinese people... Your going to have to get one from the play store or use a root exploring file manager to place the apk in Tue links below in your /system/app/ Folder and change the permissions to rw-r--r--, then reboot.... Working on adding the aosp keyboard to the source...

I'm definitely tempted - but pretty happy with my Carbon setup. Besides I share my Tab with the wife. "You changed everything.. again??!" I can hear it already.
Suggestion :might get more views on the actual 7" forum.

you mean in statusbar? Its the Batterie indicator in circle style (default in CM10.1)
Divide et Empera
after 3 hours of use, two words : GREAT ROM !
everything: Wifi, camera, Halo work fine, it's the smoothest ROM that has Halo till now, it's as smooth as SlimBean and CM10.1, and waaaaaay faster than PAC and PA (in my opinion)
i think you should move it to development section, it really belongs there
5 STARS

it's because this is posted in the General forums, it's not visited by users who want to try ROMs, you should post it in Devs section to see its awesomeness, i really mean it, my 2nd day with this ROM and not even a single problem
great work by MFunz and great port mister

Yeah, I wanted just a few testers before I released it in the dev section, but I guess I underestimated the lack of exposure... Anyhoooo....
I'm building from updated sources as I type, and I'm going to release it in the dev section today... Also... Fixed boot animation and got keyboards straightened out
