Sure lasts a long time as an MP3 player / alarm! - Droid Incredible General

My Inc, which served me faithfully for over two years, recently handed down its crown to the Galaxy Nexus. Not wanting to get rid of it, however, I've been using my Inc as an mp3 player and alarm clock.
When you're only using a tiny fraction of the features, the battery sure does last a long time!

Haha that's awesome! Glad to see you're still getting use out of this phone.

exactly what mine will become when i upgrade. i dont think i have the heart to sell it.

Use mine for data (pandora) and Sentinel 3. With pandora to bluetooth in truck or headphones it will last over 10 hours. Playing Sentinel 3, within an hour it's *****ing at me about charge.

I have been thinking of doing the same thing, are you running any custom roms or is it stock?
sent from my incredible

It's running the 2/26 nightly of CM7 and the 2/26 build of IncrediKernel (I have it set to 128 min, 768 max). Just happens that those were the latest versions to be released prior to my getting the GNex. Haven't bothered flashing anything to the Inc since then. Maybe I'll update it at some point, maybe not, but since it's not my daily driver any more, there's obviously less incentive for me to constantly upgrade it.

Tried cyanogen7 anyone else?

I tried it out but it was a bit bare for my liking. Guess its in betaBeta stage now. So im sticking with MiKfroyo for now. I am a great fan of cyanogen i'll wait.
It is in alpha stage so you cant expect too much
I tried it today for a couple of hours. Browsing seemed to be slightly faster (maybe it was my imagination). Everything else seemed to be the same as CM 6.1.1 as far as I could tell, but I didn't play with it for that long. Couldn't get SWYPE to work on it.
I flashed back to Fresh ROM, but will probably go CM permanently if they can get the cameras to work properly and support 4G.....hopefully with the final release of CM 7.....?
I tried out baby wipes once instead of toilet paper.

Running lithid 12/24/10 13:07 build. Love the speed, really really want CMParts and all the other tweaks, like the notification power widgets.
One bug I've noticed since I set my DPI to 162 is that whenever I select something in a list on the screen, I see a blue bar in the middle:

Even crazier battery usage graphs

I'm on the pre-rooted EH06 leak still, and I bought a wall battery charger and 3 cheap aftermarket batteries, a small part came off the bottom on the stock battery so I have been on nothing but the cheap batteries and since this has started recently I've only noticed it happening with 2 of the 3 batteries. But it's every time with the 2 that do this, every day I have one of those in it does it. What I'm wondering is should I just buy a few samsung brand stock batteries or just odin EH17? (or in other words, is it cheap chinese battery related or rom related?)
This one is what it's been doing lately, sometimes it's at 60% (approx) and when I boot it back up it still says 60%, but then a couple minutes later it beeps low battery then gives me the shutdown sounds at which point my blood pressure skyrockets.

And this is the part that came off my stock battery, I had stopped using it out of paranoia but as a test I've started using it again to see if it does it with the stocker:
Yup, I've seen the same on many iterations for the various GB rom's. Pretty annoying. Went back to EC05 last night because of it.
never had the problem on any build... i always use the stock battery that came with my phone.

Uptime

Ive noticed that of my smartphones Optimus 2x, Nexus One, ZTE Blade, Xperia X1. No matter what rom or software ive been using the N1 is the most stable.
Currently running CM7 Nightly 10112011 I rebooted only to update. As for last 6months.
38d 9h uptime
My GF is also running CM7 nightly on her HTC Desire uptime 69days.
69 DAYS.
**** -.- wrong subforum
PLEASE DELETE
change rom every week
Only time I reboot my N1 is when wifi tethering screws up, which seems to happen almost always around 40 days for me.. I've had 3-4 40 day uptimes, one just under 52, at 40 right now.

However long it takes for the next Nightly to be released. *Crackflasher.
Amazingly, having flashed almost every Nightly since the CM7 inception, i haven't had to wipe data even once!
I do a lot of dev stuff, so my phone is rarely up more than 48 hours.

Nexus 7 deepsleeping while charging?

As the title says I'm a little confused about the way how nexus 7 acts when charging. I have never even noticed this thing before but it seems that my nexus 7 is sleeping while it charges. I have tried many combinations like stock ROM+stock kernel , cm11+cm kernel, cm11+ franco and cm11+M-kernel. Every time I check cpu spy I see that device has been almost all time deepsleeping. I'm using the stock charger.
Here's example screenshot (sort period yes, but there you can see it):

I've read many forums and I have experiences with other devices that deepsleep shouldn't be there during charging due charging process. Device works otherwise fine and it charges normally but I'm just wondering if something is wrong on the hardware side. Some information and experiences with other nexus 7 devices would be highly appreciated! I know this is almost meaningless thing, but I'm just curious to know if this is some kind of feature of nexus 7 or if I just have sleepy unit
Thank you!

Abnormal Android OS and Android System Battery consumption?

Hello guys, I've been using a 6P for about 3 weeks now, coming from a Nexus 4 with CM13.
I've been getting somewhat between 3,5h to 4,5h of SoT, but everytime I check the Battery graph, the Android System and Android OS consumption seems pretty high. On my old Nexus 4, these two never got over 6%, and I didn't found many reports of those 2 proccesses taking that much bettery.
I don't really know what it can be, and I feel that I should be getting a better battery life if I didn't have this problem.
Running Stock and Unrooted on 7.1.1. Anyone got this problem before?

That SOT sounds about right for this phone, unfortunately. Especially if you are on stock and don't use a custom kernel with battery easy profile.
There are thousands of report of people complaining that they are in the top list but that doesn't matter, what counts is your overall drain. Which is very dependent on the apps you use, your baseband station, and your usage. 4.5h is a good average for this phone.
