UPDATE: 7.1 "stable" is OK but personally I prefer nightlies.
They are not stable! In fact RC1 boot loops! Please flash the latest nightly and google apps going forward!
Nightlies available here:
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=nightly&device=speedy
Change log and link to nightlies here as well:

Gapps here:

1) Copy zips to sd card
2) Backup with ti backup
3) Flash latest clockwork recovery through rom manager
4) Reboot into clockwork recover and run backup from clockwork recovery (aka nandroid)
5) mount usb storage in clockwork recovery and copy ti backups and clockwork recovery backup to your computer. Also copy any other important files on the sdcard (Especially pictures in the DCIM folder).
6) Copy nightly and gapps zips file to phone's sdcard
7) Wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache (under advanced), wipe battery stats
8) Install zips from sd card in this order:
a) CM_Speedyxxx.zip
b) googleapps 828-signed.zip
c) newtalk.zip
9) Reboot phone and wait 10 minutes phone should be in cm7 and working.
10) verify you can open market.
11) If you have problems try starting back at step 7 in clockwork and wipe data/factory reset
Questions/problems should be posted here:

These builds may be marked as Rc1 and stable but they are way old and NOT stable.
Before you ask, as of right now the nightlies are the most stable version of CM7 being release right now.
bump.
Please sticky this.
I agree with these not being stable, and the nightlies are far more stable. But you might want to revise the bootlooping on RC1 statement. It can be stopped from bootlooping by flash it, full wipe while its flashed, flashing gaps, and then it will work fine. I haven't tried another kernel after doing that though.

Eh, I use mikshift anyway, but when It came out, it was the only rom I had on my sd card, and I needed to make a phone call, so I was forced to make it work. That method saved my life, or at least made it so I could get a ride home, other than that, I wouldn't use it.
In fact, the only reason I would consider the "stables" would be so that I can not have to pay so that I can get updates (with the only paid roms for the shift being the nightlies, I think there is no reason to buy full rom manager)
You don't have to pay for the nightlies, don't know if you are aware of the mirror for the nightlies, but no pay there. Only have to pay if you want to download thru rom manager. Just thought i'd point thay out

Just to confirm, it's preferable to flash the nightly rather than CyanogenMod 7 for the HTC Evo Shift 4G :: V7.1.0 (9 Oct 2011) just posted?

Yes, I'd still rather flash a nightly.
I'm 100% sure 7.1.0 Oct 9 2011 has bugs. Maybe not the bootloop 7.1 RC1 had but nightlies usually have newer features and more bugfixes than any milestone release.

You're 100% sure CM7.1 has bugs? Have you used 7.1?
I'm using update-cm-7.1.0-Speedy-signed.zip, released 10/9, without issue. OC'd to 1.5 gHz, using ScaryKernel 3.

This thread was needed when our last RC was months old but it's now outdated and no longer needed. It should be unsticked. CM7.1 is rock solid.

You remember that bug when you opened the keyboard and pressed e and it opened email? The one that was only fixable on a reboot?
I have not flashed it. Why would I? How is it different than a nightly? It's a nightly build that's labeled "stable".

If you haven't flashed it then you should avoid advising others not to flash it. And I have had that weird KB issue before but not in the last month or more, so I wouldn't assume a bug that you once had is still present in a ROM that you haven't flashed yet. And if it's no different than a nightly build, what's the point of telling people not to flash it but to instead flash a nightly? People should flash CM7.1 if they want to have official support. Bug reports on nightlies are laughed at.
Again, this PSA is outdated and unneeded now.

Works for me
The only bugs that I've noticed are with Music Folder Player Free and a one time bug with the camera.
Music Folder Player Free - With the screen on songs play fine until I go to scroll through a folder/list of songs or if the screen is rotated. It starts to stutter and skip while I'm interacting within the program. With the screen off music will randomly stutter and skip and get worse as the song plays. Stock Android music player doesn't have this issue.
Camera - I tried to take a picture today and my phone seemed to lockup; none of the capacitive buttons would work and a menu pop-up didn't go away. When I pulled my phone back out of my pocket the screen was completely garbled and grainy. Had to pull the battery, but afterward everything was fine again.

You could always try a nightly?
Why is the latest 7.1.0 stable for Speedy not posted on Cyanogen Mirror Network? I grabbed it elsewhere not long after it came out, but seems weird that it still does not show up there.
I'm not responsible in any way if your phone disappears in a cloud of smoke and turns into an iPhone, or if something else catastrophic happens.

Changelog
Dec19
- Fixed default CPU max clock to 806Mhz. I'm extremely sorry about that bug
- some bluetooth changes from dzo's config.
Description
Should work with official 2.3 betas for U8800, maybe also geno's ICS. Don't know if it works with this compilation config on U8800Pro.
This is based on 2.6.35 kernel source for U8800Pro from huaweidevice.com with the following changes:
- dzo's fixes for u8800 (https://github.com/dzo/kernel_huawei/commits/2.6.35)
- The phone's mic is forced when headphones/etc are plugged in. So for example if you connect the phone to your car stereo via the headphone-jack, and make a phone call, you can hear the other person from the car's speakers and the phone's mic works as the mic. Stock Huawei kernels disable the phone's mic when anything is plugged into the headphone-jack.
I created two different versions for now, one with the force mic on, one with it off. If people want to test this otherwise, and not use the mic force mod.
Installation
1. Take a backup first somehow. This changes the boot.img. I recommed doing a full backup of your phone with the "dd" method (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1374511). This is always a good idea before trying anything after-market. This mod only changes the kernel, so shouldn't mess up the phone more than just the boot.img. To quickly go back to the default kernel you can backup in CWM recovery before flashing this, then advanced restore / boot to go back to the old kernel.
2. Flash (install zip) from geno's recovery 5.0.2.7. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1343276)
3. Looks like 2.3 beta1 v2 atleast has some problems with dalvik cache, so just incase you can wipe cache and dalvik-cache after flashing to avoid problems. If you experience any strange behaviour, try wiping both caches first.
Details (advanced stuff)
It's possible to turn it on/off as before with "echo /.../headset_mic_swith 0/1", but not sure if that requires root or not. Also it can be controlled with stockwell's x5 settings, haven't tested that yet outside of cm7 and miui.
The speakerphone mode (with phone's own mic & speaker) seems to have echo. It might be a side-effect of using the u8800pro kernel sources, but when I briefly tested even with the official beta1 v2 u8800 kernel there was some echo. I couldn't fix it like I did before, now the dev. id that had echo before works with line-out without echo, but it has echo with speakerphone mode etc.. And the dev. id that worked in 2.2 doesn't work anymore. Requires more study. My current version doesn't change anything in the speakerphone mode.
Also looks like Huawei added some "notify client of change" etc in there, it might be possible to force the mic by trying the other stuff I tried before in the old thread. (Force the value of ...h2w_state or an app that forces it).
Looks like when you add the OC frequencies and don't define min/max in .config, the max available is used by governor as max. freq. Good to know, I won't make the same mistake again now that I know.

You mean after the 2.3 upgrade? if you downgrade to 2.2 franco.kernel has my mic mod, cm7 kernel has my mic mod, and miui too I think?
Anyway it might be possible to use geno's u8800pro cm7 2.6.3.5 kernel sources and tweak it to work after the 2.3 upgrade. But don't have time for that ATM
I mean a. 35 kernel for this Roms because the gingerbread of huwei only gives problems to my phone

Well, at the moment the easiest way is to downgrade to 2.2.
But I've been thinking and I think the following should work if someone wants to try:
- diff original huawei u8800pro 2.6.35 source with geno's source on his github (that's the one his cm7 u8800pro uses I think).
- See if there are any changes specific to cm7.
- Add those changes to this kernel (or dzo's)
.. or you could just try to flash geno's cm7 u8800pro and then this kernel, but I think the cm7 kernel has some cm7 specific stuff, not sure.
so after try your kernel and geno i can say that i still have problems with huwei rom. my screem is crazuy and i cant use the phone, i need to lock it and after to unlock to have the touch working during some min.
Thanks for the effort iam still waitting for a .35 kernel that i can use in miui and cm7

yes yes, i install everything 2 times to be shure. my phone reacts bad with this rom, your kernel can be good but i cant use because of the rom

Yup, there's still quite a few problems with the Huawei beta. I guess downgrading is the only way to go ATM for you. I did it once successfully, but it has its risks. Anyway there's more downgrading info in the beta1 v2 thread (as you already know probably, but if someone else reads this).
downgrading to miui again is easy, i have never had problems. i only have problems to have a stable 2.3 rom from huawei.
they are sharing a miui version of geno
hmm, almost 100 downloads but no comments, except vlc_marcos. I think that's a good sign? Or are ppl afraid to flash it fearing it will turn the phone into an iPhone, I'm 99% sure that won't happen
Thanks, trying.

Yeah, by default the phone disables the phone's own mic when anything is plugged in the headphone-jack. So this enables you to use phone's mic when you plug something into the headphone-jack. I think the most common use is if you connect the phone to your car stereo via the headphone-jack, you can hear the other person from the car's speakers and the phone's own mic works as the mic. -> The perfect speakerphone/handsfree solution

Nope, should work straight if you're running 2.3 beta 1 X. On my phone running beta1 v2 it works. Strange, it might be your phone has some different hardware than mine or something, U8800s are funny that way It might work by changing the config used to compile.
Others post here too if it works or not.

Geno has created ROM with 2.3GB official i mean he has removed some unwanted stuffs from Unicom ver and have uploaded can refer here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20413960&postcount=580
and he has already created a kernel this is just for information......
Ok, as you all know Scritch007 has compiled CM10 for our old X10, Considering how ICS was running on our device achieving a fast & reliable JB was sort of a dream but the dream has become true thanks to Scritch007 & CMX10 team as he's named it himself
So I opened this thread in order to keep the development thread clean & save the dev & others who want to actually contribute to the project the headache of having to go through non-development posts, You can use this thread for any noob/kinda noob/not so noob questions, issues or problems you have with installation or even the rom itself before confirming it as an official bug, "thanks" comments if you ever feel the "Thanks" button is not enough, any mod or extra features & add-on s that you request (because Scritch007 has clearly stated that he wants to deliver a pure & clean CM10 & he won't add these kinds of stuff) or anything else you'd like to say on the subject which is unrelated to development
Original thread in development section
Changelog, Links & other stuff you need to know
Installation Guide:
- First be aware that you need to be rooted & also on unlocked bootloader
- Download the latest version of the rom(cm10-v10.zip) & the latest kernel(kernel-CM10-v22.ftf) from HERE & copy the rom to your sd card (If you need Gapps grab it(gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip) from HERE & copy it to your sd card too)
(The standard procedure for installing this is like any other rom: 1- Flashing the latest kernel using Flashtools 2- Powering on the device & booting into CWM recovery 3- Performing a full wipe (wipe data/factory rest, wipe cache partition & advanced > wipe dalvik cache) and 4- installing the rom & then the gapps; but as reported by many users you may have problems with the standard procedure specially If you's coming from other roms & kernels & this is your first time installing this, The problem may be facing a black screen & not being able to enter recovery & such, So I recommend you follow the instructions below which will surely work)
- Do NOT Flash the 4.1 kernel at first, Download & flash any other kernel that has a working CWM recovery using FLASHTOOLS (For example Scritch007's CM9 kernel or FeraVolt's ICS kernel), If you already have a kernel with working CWM recovery you can skip this step (Also it seems I should mention that by CWM recovery I mean ClockworkMod recovery not xRecovery, This rom can only be installed using ClockworkMod recovery)
- Boot into CWM recovery(by pressing the back key repeatedly when you see kernel logo & notification led) and Perform a full wipe (wipe data/factory rest, wipe cache partition & advanced > wipe dalvik cache)
- Install the rom(cm10-v10.zip) & if you need Gapps(gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip) install it too, after that do NOT reboot, while still in CWM recovery, just power off the device (If your CWM recovery doesn't have a power off option, take your battery off, wait for 10 seconds & put it back again)
Attention: If you faced the Status 7 error (getprop error / assert fail) when trying to install the rom in CWM, HERE is one solution, The other solution is editing your current build.prop (system/build.prop) to make at least one of the conditions you see in the error message true
- Flash the 4.1 kernel(kernel-CM10-v22.ftf) using Flashtools
- Power on the device & let the fun begin!!
Bugs & Issues:
- Camcorder captures low quality videos
- Turning GPS on & off will result in losing Deep Sleep and therefore battery drain until next reboot
- Tethering turns off when phone goes into deep sleep
- Video playback in gallery
Attention: If you want to report a bug/issue, THIS is the proper & helpful way to do it
Fixes & Add-ons:
- Fix for when Status bar freezes & doesn't update: Reboot into CWM recovery, Fix permissions and Wipe dalvik cache
- Fix for no data connection: It's been reported by users that a simple reboot will solve it
- Working Timescape For This Rom
- [APK] Seeder 2.0.0 entropy generator to provide significant lag reduction
- Xperia Z lockscreen for CM10
- SONY Xperia Z Walkman Clear Audio+, Movies Album & BE 2
- [MOD][APP]AwesomeBEATS™ v.5
- Xloud, Bravia 2 and Clear Bass for CM10 v 6.0 (I don't know if it will work for later versions of the rom or not, so kindly test & report here in this thread)
- Experimental tweaks & tips posted by a member (please test & report the results)
- On-screen button for Beta V3
- [MOD/THEME][CM10]All in 1 Transparent
- For root access issues (which apparently appears when flashing Ferakernel) THIS might help

This is really a dream I think. No other developer ever has given this stable rom in such a good time. Scritch really has made the most awesomest rom for our X10. This deserves a mention to the portal. Please vote for his thread !!
This Rom certainly rocks!!
On my third day now I can tell you that battery life is great & the Rom feels wicket Scritch has to be a magician.
Until now the only bugs I've found are:
no sound over headphones
(playing music over power amp),
sometimes no vibrate
(incoming messages or alarm),
cm recovery flickering &
titanium backup can't delete system files
(you can delete them with a root
explorer).
All these bugs have been mentioned in main thread.
I guess my next donation goes to You Scritch
Here is a video review of pre-alpha (thanks to efgeni)

I have made this ROM in a way that Viper comes per-installed (yes, the drivers too.) so you don't need to reboot to install driver. If you are having this problem, maybe you installed a third party audio enhancement that overrides viper?? like clear audio with Walkman player??(I had this same problem because of this.). Try to do a clean wipe, on first boot go to settings->sound and you'll see viper there(no icon). Just open it and you'll see that the drivers are per-installed and no need to reboot.

So guys, any Issues with Viper4Android on your devices are user oriented. As you can see attached, I'm just from doing a clean wipe. Viper drives are integrated and no need to reboot. Driver version shows properly and audio processing changes fom No to Yes when you turn on master power. Please make sure that you DO NOT install any other audio effects! They may or might not play well with Viper. Please do a clean wipe before re-installing this Rom or subsequent updates. If your viper isn't working, maybe you did something wrong, but it works perfectly out of the box.

I'm sorry but I have used the searching system.
However, I think in the thread the solution of the skype's noise was not been mentioned.

Is there anyone who can help me?
I did flash the rom again today.
with complete wipe( three wipes)
then I flashed the rom, gapps and the kernel.
the skype problem is still here.
I was using beanstalk rom before.
Should I flash the official rom first?
then flash the custom one?

It's a bug in the rom. Nothing you can do about it.

Because it was not mentioned as a known issue and I think some of the user do not have this problem
