[Q] i9505 UK Vodafone, how can I root? I've searched xda and other sites.

Hey,
I got a guide to root my old galaxy s 2 here and it was easy to spot in the forum but I'm having trouble finding a guide to root my i9505 UK Vodafone model. I've looked here and found two guides but people seem to have problems with them. I looked at galaxys4root.com as well but the guide seems to be only for US carriers, and someone tried it on their UK phone and didn't get root access using TWRP method.
I promise you I'm not a lazy bastard just wanting somebody to do legwork for me, I have read for hours and can't find a method I am sure will work.

Thank you.
Thanks to GermainZ for help in the IRC channel, he linked me to this and it worked: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2252248

And it begins.......

Please don't ask ETA. Have to get it squared away, updated and tested before I feel comfortable releasing it to the public. Since we have no verifiable way of restoring yet.

Root methods are out of my realm. So I can't help there. I don't even know if root is achieved if boot loader can be unlocked on that firmware
USB OTG works. But for some reason /sdcard doesn't.
