Do you have flashtool?
Under flashtool there's drivers folder.
There should be one executable file.
When running this there's tick box for fastboot drivers.
You can use official sony one.
If you are on vista 64bits or 7 bits, use the inf file i put there
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22361703&postcount=269 instead of sony one

Hi, I need some help with this one. I have in my hands a possible prototype of U8800 before it was launched. My goal is to make it usable as phone. Maybe flash a custom or stock rom.
modem: msm7630_surf
Firmware: 2.1-update1
Baseband: Unknown
Kernel: 2.6.29-perf
Build: msm7630_surf-eng 2.1-update1...
Obstacles.
1.Wifi and bluetooth does not work
2. Theres no app manager/File manager
3. USB Debug nothing happens. ADB can't detect it.
I can access the device using mass storage also when under download mode.
The ADB driver has to be installed manually. Have you got it installed?
you mean using the SDK manager? I have already installed Google USB driver package revision 4.
As per Device Manager, no driver found for Qualcomm HSUSB Device. I downloaded the U8800 drivers from this guide but still cant detect the correct drivers
Hello anyone?
it seems that it is c8800 , not u8800

if your hanset has the 7630 it means c8800,and look for some chinese bbs, that may solve your problem

just for the sake of discussion, BBS = Bulletin Board System..
[Guys msm7630 is not c8800 it's u8800. The msm7630 just supports more connectivity technologies. The c8800 has msm7227 (adreno 200 and armv6 core)]
You need to install the adb drivers for the u8800 if you want adb connectivity, the ones that come with the sdk are only for the google nexus development phones.
Your phone is probably one of the early swedish models with older software (and possibly older hardware).
Try putting an official huawei update zip to the root of the sd card and reboot the phone.

anywhoo.. I also tried pointing the drivers to the u8800 one from ultimate-guide-to-the-huawei-u8800 but still no luck. I tried that rooting by replacing the boot.img but doesnt boot up.. even the recovery.img doesnt give me clockwork.

where can I get this huawei update.zip ?
btw I have tried replacing all 4 of my boot files.. Ended up with a bootloop in huwei logo. never got to recovery, not android logo.. I placed the old files back.
Tried installing Hi Suite cant detect anything.. all u8800 drivers i've found doesnt get detected when updating drivers even if i browse to those files.
I'm willing to try any thing here since this phone is as good as bricked.. no connectivity whatsoever, no file manager to install apks.. I am willing to try a bunch of boot files till I get whatever will boot.. HELP!!
My first move would be to fix the USB connectivity
Since you use windows, could you post the Device ID from device manager so that I could compare it with mine (to verify you try the right drivers)?
@m444266:
Don't bother installing drivers for the "Qualcomm HUSB Device". It's not the adb interface. If you have the Hi Suite installed you will also have the adb drivers.
Official huawei update to fix your phone:
http://www.mediafire.com/?5a76mtwrk49m376
STEPS:
Extract the zip archive and go inside the folders until you see a folder named "dload". Copy that folder to the root of your sd card , reboot the phone and wait. The update process will now start. Make sure the phone is plugged in so the battery doesn't run out while updating.

Thanks.. will try this out
advancements
some advancements. I think I was able to update the firmware since I see a battery charging animation (the blue one) that I've never seen before. Problem now is that it's stuck in a boot loop, it also automatically goes to recovery to wipe data and cache but still loops.. I've tried manually clearing the data, cache and dalvik cache but still loops.. any ideas?
I will try to change the boot.img and recovery.img, the same being used for rooting and to have CWM recovery.. hope this goes well.
EDIT:
CWM recovery works.. but still on boot loops. will try to flash a ROM using cwm.
Unfortunate note..I read that u8800 has a 4Gb internal disk space, however when I'm in download mode, it seems that the phone memory of my device is only 44Mb.. this might cause some complications.
NOTE: It turns out to be a problem with Windows 8. Thanks for your help!
Hi there!
I've been trying to follow this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1595013&page=9#88
and even this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1889325
However, the firmware.zip file is not extracting (archive error). At first the *.sbf.gz was also causing trouble, but i managed to redownload it and it worked. But no matter how many times I download the firmware.zip file, it can never extract it
Would it be possible for someone to present two links that are definitely working?
Thanks in advance
EDIT: Basically I cannot unzip the firmware.zip file to extract the firmware.sbf - I would really appreciate it if someone could point me to or upload a working firmware.zip and firmware.z01
Did you try to download those files from this thread? You could try to extract it with some additional software like 7-zip.

Yeah I had tried them. But I have found the sbf file via dropbox.
Now the problem I have is RSD Lite isn't recognising my device in bootloader moder.
Yes I have moto drovers installed.
Yes I'm running it as admin.
What should I do?
EDIT: Windows plays a noise when the device is plugged in as bootloader mode. However rsdlite still isn't seeing anything, and the window doesn't give many options either :\
Check for yellow question mark in Windows device manager while your phone connected. If so, reinstall drivers.
Re: [Help] Rooting BL7 MB256
First, .sbf.gz need to be unzip with 7zip or winrar into .sbf! Did you forgot to unzip them?
Both of rooted rom's part need to be .sbf before flashing.
Second, did your phone's bootloader say "batte low cannot program"? If so charge your phone till full and try again.
If not it could be driver problem.

I'm not aware of this yellow question mark, I've reinstalled the drivers 4 times now. Could you possibly explain where this question mark may appear? I've checked the program called "Device Manager", but I guess I'm not seeing it

Both sbf files are extracted.
My phone is fully charged, boot loader mode says "transfer mode: USB"
EDIT: I changed computers, and have successfully rooted my defy+! The difference between the two computers:
1st one
Laptop
Windows 8
All USB ports are 3.0
2nd one
Desktop
Windows XP VIrtualisation
USB 2.0 I believe
Re: [Help] Rooting BL7 MB256
Glad to hear, so it must be driver on Windows 8 problem.
Heard about win8 failed to flash with RSDlite too.

Hey,
Has anyone succes in unbricking a Meizu device with the mediatek sp flash tool?
I personally have a bricked MX5 (thanks to the A**hole who made the MX5 BT unlock topic)
nope... still cannot bypass the secure base-band chip problems... the only available method is to program the boot to load the original source code and to creat a
1 - android-info.txt
2- android-product.txt
specific for mx5.. im still experimenting this though.. so far no progress yet..
If we can get this working, hard bricked devices can get recovered with fastboot I think?
Is there a way I can help you?

yes, hardbrick can be recovered if only we can bypass the secure baseband chip.. im still learning the code to creat those 2 files that i mentioned earlier.. so far no good.. still need time to identify which code that can match the baseband chip pass code. i convert update.zip to aboot.img with android file.txt that i creat. but still the code are not match. there is 1 way to reset the baseband chip, but need usb tongled and removed emmc card to reset all.. thats hell of a way to do becoz its include hardware modifications. and also need few device that only availble in chinesse , not mention the language though.. for now lets hope for master yus to bring the miracles to us..
I've found another flash tool, it seems to be provided by meizu themselves with a chinese manual called: MultiUpgrade 4.8.5 bundled with MultiUpgrade 4.8.5

need help,
did anyone can help me to solve my problem with flashtool?i try to flash my homtom ht 20 pro using flashtool, but my flashtool can not download or detect my phone i try to instal media tek usb vcom but stil can not work, cos my win 10 said that driver not digitaly signed,so anyone have solution for my problem, it will greatfull if you give me a link to download another driver so i can start flash my homtom ht 20 pro, thanks
You can install unsigned drivers in windows by shift clicking while reseting windows. You will be prompted later on on various options of reboot. One of them is going to be to not enforce signed drivers. If you have any trouble finding this option, look it up "reboot not enforcce signed drivers". You will find what you need.
Hi, everyone I tried to flash a new recovery on X00T but before I did this I Wiped all the data except internal storage. I Flashed the new recovery (completely forget about there being no OS) I rebooted to recovery and ignored the no OS message as the device rebooted I came on a black screen even the fast boot mode screen was black. I had no idea what to do so I tried to install the old TWRP from power shell/Adl so I could have a recovery and then install Custom rom again from recovery.
But there when I try to flash a file with command
-> Fastboot flash Recovery ....(..= file name)
It is shown completed on pc but on android even after rebooting I can't get anything except the black screen. This is what I get when I enter the following commands
-> fastboot devices
My devices number is shown
but if I type.
-> adl devices
My device is not shown.
But when I press the recovery buttons on device adl devices Is able to recognise device as a recovery screen device.
And the extra bonus on this is when I try to flash rom or fimware from adl. It says unable to read zip file.
So can anyone tell me if there is a way to fix this unable to read zip file problem. (I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers from device manager & tried installing 64 bit files also)
Is there a command to flash rom from recovery. Or any way to fix this black screen
Thanks to everyone for reading any advice would be really helpful at this time.

I am not sure if posting external links (except hosting sites) is permitted. A simple google search or search within XDA will give you the results. In case you face difficulty, PM me.
Try to use this adb
If it still doesn't get detected, maybe use usb hub.
I wrote a thread guiding people on how to install stuff and my experience (issues) that is similar to yours. Not sure if my thread will help ya though

If anyone else face this issue I followed this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/as...uide-revert-to-stock-rom-lock-t3798420/page46
It worked on my phone it is on again. Will have to root again but learned my lesson will never try new twrp when there is no os installed.
thanks you Tianhe and Vysair for your advice for solving the issue.
