i think they need to do an HD version for tablets, i also see ASUS Prime Transformer owners complaining about this issue
Perhaps you should contact Rovio for this instead.

BUT not compatible pffft to the 7.7, i guess another e-mail is necessary
I noticed color banding to be a general problem in games on the Tab 7.7. See my thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22976648&highlight=color+banding#post22976648
Have you noticed NO color banding in a game so far?
[Edit]
Installed Angry Birds HD (from apk). The same issue - there is color banding.

I read in an article that the two versions have no difference except for the opening screen?
Edit: there is a difference. Less banding on the hd version. Also things like score screen are scaled better.

The color banding in the two versions is absolutely the same. The only benefit for me is the ads removed, which for the tablet is not as big a problem as for the phones due to the larger screen anyway. I don't care about the enlarged splashscreen/interface elements. I am adding larger screenshots.
No color banding on the Galaxy Nexus with Andriod 4.0.3 and nothing on the Ipad2 either.
The colour banding comes from 16-bit colour being used for most things instead of 32. This is a system-wide function. Not everything is let to run at 32 bit.

Is there any way of overriding this?
I wish I knew... Sorry. At least it's a software thing, not hardware, so -eventually- someone will find a fix for it. That said, this issue has been present in Samsung devices of most kinds ever since the SGS2 was launched, and I have yet to find a solution so far.
Just remember, any of the colour banding issue you encounter come as a result of 16-bit colour, and is therefor a software issue, not hardware.

http://phandroid.com/2011/10/04/leak-is-this-the-nexus-prime/
I know you’ve seen that thread title before. We’ve posed the question for at least two different renders now but later found those to be fake. So here it is again – is this the Nexus Prime As you can tell, it has a 720p HD display (it’s more like 1180×720, but who’s keeping score?) and has software buttons on the bottom, an optional feature in Ice Cream Sandwich for OEMs who don’t want to include hardware navigation buttons on their devices. DPI also sits at a cool 320 and unfortunately sources are hearing this may be a 4.3 inch device.
The Nexus Prime is rumored to be the first Ice Cream Sandwich device and will reportedly have a 4.5 inch – 5 inch display with the resolution mentioned above as well as a dual-core processor (we’re betting on the TI OMAP4 variety but wouldn’t be surprised – or mad – to see Exynos inside). We are awfully close to Samsung and Google’s October 11th event in San Diego so hopefully more of these leaks trickle out leading up to that. [GSMArena]

4.3" seems to be a typo that people are slowly correcting (first person to post this was GSMArena, they had it at 4.3" in the article, but 4.6" in the title, and it has since changed) Also, further speculation shows that the on screen buttons make up for the rest of the pixels (so it truly is 720p) . I believe it is real, and can't wait for it
Its basically 4.3" if you don't count the onscreen buttons as apart of the screen, 4.6" with.
Seems a little odd the button area is deep black and the background above is "greyish" The whole beauty of an AMOLED screen is the black should be pure black. When you look through the menus on the vibrant the text sits on a very deep black background. something is not right with this leaked picture

Well, If you take a closer look at the area below the buttons area. The area below buttons are in DEEPER BLACK.
Hence, this could be photoshop product ????

that's the same thing on that topic
So here is the basic situation:
My friend and me bought a same i9000 from the same company at almost the same time. It's Telenor-Hungary.
We have been using it for over a year and I discovered an issue with the screens just yesterday.
I'll provide some screenshots:

as you see the only difference in the two screenshots is that I use 182 dpi and he uses 240.
But when we look at the phones with our eyes its not the same.
Mine , the lover dpi one is faded and greenish its blue is not really pure.
we tried to take photos of the difference:
so you can see the left one is more greenish and it's like missing some light blue or something i cant define. The best way to say it his phone has deeper colors.
also we discovered another difference
this is the 240 dpi (right one) with the better colors
and thiis is mine the sh*t greenish colored
you can notice the sim tray and the micro sd tray is different colored.
any idea why my screen is different than his?
By the way we use the same rom/kernel : teamhacksung b14 and devils latest with led2
thank you please just take a loook
Oled screens get worn out after time, especially the blue color is going to wear out fast. It could be that one of you two uses his phone more intense than the other...

Thats true mate!
I use 20 times more than him
This has nothing to do with usage.
It's just a difference in ur hardware. many users here on xda have this problem including me.
My girlfriends phone has so nice and deep colours but my phone just looks yellowish and wasted.
I installed chainfire3D and use nightmode to adjust colours manually which brought a really nice result and I also use voodoo color for adjusting gamma values.
This brought me a whole new display and now it looks like this of my gf. Feel free and try it.
and to your sim tray and sd card problem^^
Your friend has the protection stickers/foils still on and u don't - that's it!
greetz
Thats the same colour the Sim Tray. Thats plastic...

Yes, you can think that's the amoled technology that gives a strange tint until you see different devices.
Then you will notice some screens are quite OK, some are yellow and some are blue (and right out of the box).
I don't know if Samsung had several screen batches (they do that on PC monitors and TV without warning) or if the amoled panel is just not regular at the end of its production process.
Supercurio tried to investigate on some Galaxy S II models, asked people to give their screen identification serial and which problem/tint they noticed. I don't know if he came on a conclusion.
Anyway, for now you have this gamma adjustment tool included in Team hacksung ICS, you'll also have a new "Voodoo screen tuning app" with profiles and advanced options soon (Supercurio announced he will release it after he has sorted out some payment/market issues).
How can u tell me then, why i can see a bright ribbon on white screen where my status bar normally is? 5his is deffinitely a wear symptom...

Yeah, there's no denying screens get old too. I was just explaining this tint problem in particular.

thanks for the reply. it is very obvious if you look at house's face and the background is full of random colour as well. I restored the tab and still hv the same problem
Sorry, but from the still shot I see nothing wrong as you describe it.
EDIT: When I increase the brightness on my screen and enlarge the picture, I see what you're probably talking about in the upper right side of the background. As far as a fix? IDK Maybe remembering the tab isn't a blu-Ray player hooked up to a 1080p TV?
Sorry but hopefully someone with a more discerning eye and better knowledge of what you need to do will notice this from my bump and be able to help you.
If you can read this it was sent using my GT-P7510.

I don't see anything like what you described ... did you check the image with your computer too? Does it still have the random colors?
I tried to view the pic on my phone and it shows that there is no problem... which means is defo the problem with the screen.. could be moisture bt I'm guna sd it bk... thanks guys
It would have been easier if you took an actual photo instead of a screenshot.
on my p7500 no such problem...
Random colours as a rainbow effect? That is the known issue with earlier Galaxy Tab 10.1 and most of the current crop. It's called an oil slick, moisture under the screen, etc. Can't remember what the name was but it's a problem with the glass touching the lcd and causing the effect. It's mostly viewed under high humidity or temperature such as going outside in the summer with your tab or if you put pressure on the back.
The Galaxy Tab 10.1 GT7500 4G, has no such problem I kind of make out some kind of film they might of put between the glass and the lcd. Not sure but what ever it is it seems to have corrected the issue. Also by the way the GT7500 has Gorilla Glass which is not used on the GT 7510.
Just wanted to point out that my GT-P7510 does have Gorilla Glass.

Only thing I see is low quality on the video, it's either been encoded using low settings or it's a small resolution and being upscaled on the 10inch screen so the quality looks a bit bad.
I was interested in the 7.7 and has tested it in several stores. There are two things that puts me off that I haven't seen anybody talk about.
1. The white is quite yellow. Compared to an ipad 2 or 3 or asus transformer, it looks much worse, and not so bright.
2. The resolution is supposedly good, but then why does the text looks so bad? I mean open the browser, and when it says Cannot connect to the internet page or something like this, that font looks not good. I also think the font saying Google search in the upper left corner also does not look good.
Is this just me seeing this? (same on many 7.7 devices i have tested).
I couldn't quite helping you with the yellowish issue, but if anyone had problem with the default fonts, there is an app called 'Fontomizer SP', which is a fonts package for Samsung Galaxy devices, that offers a list of additional fonts that you could choose from with preview.

The display on the 7.7 using Super Amoled Plus is regarded as one of the best by most people and I've seen several 7.7 screens and the text and colours all look great. But, as always it is a matter of personal taste. I don't like the 4:3 screen ratio on the iPad which is bad for viewing wide screen films and it is too big to fit in pockets which is why I bought the 7.7. So if you don't mind watching films with black bands at the top and bottom and using a bag to carry the iPad around then get that.
ok, so it's only me then.
I was curious if anybody else notice these things.
Could it be related to font smoothing?
On my galaxy note the text looks good, but it has a higher DPI. But I can't understand it should be related to higher DPI as the 7.7 already has quite high DPI.
There are 3 modes under screen settings, dynamic (which I use for color theory experiments), normal (which I use for daily use), and movie (which i rarely use). Movie mode does appear yellowish, photos are over-saturated in dynamic mode.... try adjusting these and see if you get better results.
here's an "amoled doodle" I did playing around with rgb (additive color primaries) and cmy (subtractive color primaries):

I've read a few posts on XDA which mentions the visible banding in gradients. I find it's visible quite often, in the settings menu, in photos, in apps, videos etc. If this is normal then I'm shocked it hasn't been mentioned in any of the reviews I've. I would only expect to see a screen of this poor quality in a cheap brand.

I have similar banding but not as pronounced probably because my brightness level is lower. I haven't really heard of a N7 that doesn't have this problem to be honest.
Mine has it but I only notice it on dark blank screens and I'm not on dark blank screens very often or for very long.

Seems to be down to a poor quality screen. I guess they had to make sacrifices somewhere to keep the cost down. Thanks for the link toidimaet, I read through it and there currently isn't a fix for stock 4.2.1. I could ask somewhere there if they would mind making one but it sounds like the next official update might also include a fix (if you can call it that) so I might as well wait.
I have the same issue, the only rom which i haven't this problem was PA so that means it isn't a hardware problem? I can't find RadientFix for SmoothRom.
not a screen issue
the N7 has an IPS display panel, which renders colors, well, too accurately. for gradients you can use strong jpeg compression, which is normally not visible on standard screens. the perfect screen also has disadvantages - most mediocre images look awfully.
by the way, all of the wallpapers that are coming out of the box are useless in my opinion for the same reason
