Hi everyone I have a rooted evo and I've rooted and unrooted a couple times and I am very compfortable with flashing roms because I do it all the time. My boss has a milestone x and she wants me to root it for her. I was wondering if someone could give me a list of roms that are stable and work well on milestone x also hotspot working! Also is there an amonra recovery I can put on. If anyone has the files I will need to root that would be great. On my Evo I just unrevoke then flash amonra and a Rom and its in business. Is there a big change on how to root this? Thanks a lot Droidxers I really appreciate it!

I rooted mine using SuperOneClick root and it worked easily!
As for a working ROM I have read that it is a long process to make Droid X ROM's work with our APN's and it is possible to get stuck with Verizon's network so I haven't even tried it.
What I have done that has made the experience much different is install some apps and script's that 180'ed the stock ROM and make it feel like a completely different device.
Well this is what I did, I searched gingerbreak on 4shared . Com website, downloaded, open it, then press root. The root is successful when it turns off, if it doesn't work redownload another apk..
For the CMW recovory..I searched droid x bootstrapper, again on 4 shared..pressed bootstrap recovery, then reboot recovery.
Far as custom roms go its not many that work on Milestone X, Liberty 2.0.1 does with no tweakin..
Miui and Cm7 works with a script kernel tweak seen here http://www.youtube.com/watch?nomobile=1&v=vxZ7cBt2K-Q you just have to delete the Verizon kernel script with notepad and save the changes..the exact tutorial is under "show more" under the video..that should work

There's a modified boot.img? I don't think so... To root, all you need is a custom recovery. I also wouldn't use the toolkit. At this step, it's just as easy to do it manually. Just type in with your device in fastboot and connected to a PC: "fastboot flash recovery name of recovery.img"

Just try them yourself and see. I personally like Trinity Four (latest releases have dark PA colors. To get nice/normal colors flash TF92G) and FrankenKernel.

QFT!
There is a rooting guide stickied to the top of this section which answers all of these questions.
Hi,
My droid pro is now running 2.3.4 and it is rooted.
I want to upgrade it to VanillaLVL cm7,but the cwm just switched to default recovery mode(white text).
Sometimes, the cwm recovery switched itself when i charge my droid (dead charging),if i try to run it,just showing a blank screen and no reaction.
So,what i'm doing wrong(i use the ROM manager from market)
Thanks

Haha! Dono if you still know about this device.... But i am playing around with a old Droid Pro and i can only use Droid2 bootstrap with the stock ROM, not with a custom ROM....
Any ideas?
Could someone reupload this file (or newer if exist)?
