I would like to unlock my Palm Treo Pro
I have seen that Cheetah/750 extended ROM unlocking tool works all right for Palm Treo Pro:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=419354&page=13
I understand that using Cheetah/750 extended ROM unlocking tool changes the default radio from the Palm Treo Pro, is that correct?
Does anyone know an specific tool or way to unlock Palm Treo Pro.
Tx in advance!
Im confused... where did you get yours? I bought mine from dell, it is 'unlocked' as is correct?

Unlocked for being non carrier specific yes...
Mine certainly was unlocked... not sure what you are trying to do.
What I am trying to do is to SIM unlock my Palm Treo Pro from Service Provider Vodafone Spain to use it with a SIM from another carrier.

Yes, you can use Cheetah unlocking kit, but im sure you'll end with a expensive piece of dead-technology
Cheetah/750 extended ROM unlocking tool is not the same with Cheeetah SIM/CID unlocker

You are correct, I would like to know is if Olipro's "Cheetah Hard-SPL and SIM Unlocker" would work on my Palm Treo Pro or not.

The Treo Pro is already unlocked out of the box.
No need to unlock it again.
You should have no problem using it on ANY GSM carrier you please (just make sure the frequencies are supported).
You just pop in the sim card.
Good Luck!

I LOVE how this is a double post from the Palm Treo pro upgrading etc. section. I also, posted a few comments putting down this very topic. For one, the FREAKIN phone is already unlocked. And two, you are only out to make a buck! If anyone wants to how how to unlock a "locked" phone, message me and I will run you through it for FREE!

My Vodafone Spain lock is now removed but anyway tx for your lock removal offer, maybe next time.

You were told in the other thread that the Vodafone supplied TP's are SIM locked. So why all the shouting 3 days later? If you're so clever, how about sharing your easy, free, method to all Voda EU users?
If anyone has any news on how to unlock the devide it would be greatly appreciared.
And, yes vodafone spain pro's are locked

Can you tell me how to do
Treo Pro / 850
I currently have my service through Sprint and I will like to unlock the phone so as to use one of the prepaid service that will allow me on their network.
Any recommendation?
All the Palm Treo pro in the U.K, Ireland and most of the other european countries they come as a factory unlocked, they will only have the operator's logo on start up but will accept any other Sim card, I had experience with 4 phones so far and they all accepted another Sim card straitaway, so don't believe what the operator says.

how much did it cost? $31.99 by selecting locked to at&t? there are 2 options on the site for samsung focus when you search fot it. unfreeze code and unlock code. which did you choose?
Of course it worked, and I bought the unlock code, not the unfreeze code.

I'm planning on doing the same except that I'll be using mine on Rogers. I've seen some reports of unlocked W7 devices having problems with MMS and CallerID and was wondering if you'd experienced any issues with yours? MMS isn't really a big deal for me but CallerID would be.
Thanks!
What's the difference between unlock and unfreeze?
Thanks

Hi. But is your Samsung Focus branded AT&T or Rogers?
I've heard that Rogers branded focus are unlockable, but AT&T's are not.

Not sure where you got that info!
I picked up my rogers focus yesterrday, got the unlock pin, stuck in my bell SIM card and it work.
my issue was mms and data;
for data just add the network APN!
still need to figure out MMS, wish there was a way to change network profile!?!?

where did you obtain the unlock code for the rogers phone. most of the unlock sites I've visited do not have Rogers network for the focus.

No point in me trying to order a focus without a way to unlock it.
I received the unlock code for my at&t streak, but don't have another sim to install. Is there a way to enter it with my original at&t sim installed? Thanks in advance.
To my knowledge thats the only way. I havent found an entry other than that.

If you need a sim card let me know. as long as your in the us i can mail it to you. all i ask is you pay for shipping
I just asked a friend to borrow his SIM for a minute
Thank you for the replies. I forgot, my nextel from work had a sim in it. Problem solved, streak unlocked.
How and where did you get the code from?
Thanks
so, why unlock the phone anyways if you dont have another sim card?
I am on AT&T and unlocked my device so when I travel, all I have to do is pick up a sim card and I am back in action.

Just what gordata said. I´m in mexico now, but unlocked before I left without another sim. Just put SIM in and you are taken to the unlock screen. I imagine there must be a way to get to that screen without a new SIM card.
How can I tell if my device is Sim Free?
I bought it in the UK and when I put my sim in it (not a UK one) it worked.
Does it being simfree affect installing ROMS?
Thanks

That sounds sim free to me and you can put on any number of roms both stock and custom and it will always remain sim free.

If you put a none-UK sim into a UK phone and it works, then your phone is SIM Free.
Your phone being SIM free does not effect installing ROMS at all
You're good to go.

You can call Sprint and have the SIM card officially unlocked. If you are a new customer you have to wait 90 days before they let you do this though, if you're an old customer it shouldn't be a problem.

From what I understand Sprint has to do something on their end to unlock the SIM. It will only work on overseas networks too, they aren't unlocking it for domestic networks.

I just called sprint to try to unlock my s4 and they told me that the phone has to be active on the account for 90 days before they unlock it. Not be a customer for 90 days or more.

I'm not trying to sound like a **** but just want to make the note that I have a Sprint Blackberry Tour 9630 from 2009 which cam SIM unlocked and is currently being used domestically with a T-Mobile SIM card.
I also have a Samsung Galaxy S4 and am really hoping they will allow for it to be SIM unlocked for domestic use as well. At least they didn't ship it with a locked bootloader.

Sorry, I didn't know about the Blackberry. Maybe because Blackbaerrys are somewhat unusual devices they made an exception. In any case, that would make it the only Sprint GSM device that I have ever heard of that was capable of operating in the US. All iOS and Androids have always been blocked for usage in the US. That said though, there have been hacks to some of them which enabled US use, though sometimes at the expense of not being able to use the device with CDMA while the hack was in place (meaning they couldn't be used on Sprint).
Hello, guys.
Who looking to unlock own Samsung S4 Sprint - please send to me PM. I have one way which shall to be checked. I'm still don't havemy own Sprint's S4 on hands to check if this way will works

Yep... it was a fruitless venture.
it would be great if we could get the sim unlocked for domestic use.
I'd be happy with unlocking it for non US GSM providers at the moment, I find it ridicules that I have to wait 90 days after having the account with Sprint for 2 years. It is a new phone and I need to travel now.
Anyways if there is any way to unlock it I'd like to know.
