[Q]Problems with Latest build by Quarx: 08 Mar 2012 - Defy Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have just flashed CM9 Latest build by QuarX( 8 Mar 2012) following the instruction given:
1:Head Over To Stable recovery
2:Wipe Data
3:Install ZIp from SD Card
4:Select ICS(Defy) .zip
5:Flash
6:Flash CM7 Kernel
7:Clear Cache and Dalvik Cache
The problem i have is that every time when i go to settings either wifi or accounts and sync , the window closes and i get back to homescreen. Is there something i'v done wrong? please can you help me.
Is it because the version of the kernel? gapps.zip?
Thank you

Please i don't know what else to do ihave changed gapps version, flushed a new *.sbf and still the same problem. So nay solutions?

Issue with [ROM] CM 6.1.3 [V006] Kernel-010

Hi,
I've flashed my X10 with [ROM] CM 6.1.3 [V006] Kernel-010 [13-05-11]
and now it don't stop rebooting.
Someone know why it doing it??
My baseband is .58
Ps. I'm posting here because i'm new in forum and can't reply the post [ROM] CM 6.1.3 [V006] Kernel-010 [13-05-11] [Tweaked+Theme+Extras]
Thanks
This is probably because custom kernels ( i.e. if you have flashed the custom kernel ) work on baseband 52.
P.S Should be in the Q&A section.
Sorry!!
Next question will be there.
I'll try change BB now.
Be right back.
Edit: I tried this and nothing... continuous reboot...
another idea?

^What he said.
1) First wipe everything, factory reset, cache partition, format cache, dalvik cache.
2) Flash the ROM : http://www.mediafire.com/?7xwcdvyx8fw6cr0
3) If you are on baseband 52, flash the baseband patch http://www.multiupload.com/U020F08R3N
4) Then flash the hotfix http://www.mediafire.com/?2c27ssr123e7rrv

WB's rom is using baseband 54 and above, meanwhile K010 needs baseband 52. Here are the steps :-
1. Fresh install the stock rom with SEUS.
2. Root & install xrecovery using flashtool.
4. Flash the X10_52_ChangeBaseband.ftf using flashtool.
5. Reboot into recovery and wipe everything.
6. Install CM_6.1.3_[v006].zip.
7. Install CMFix_v6_v61.zip.
8. Install bb patch cm5bb49.zip.
9. Install 2.6.29.6 FX k010 froyo FXR busybox in xbin v06.zip (get it on the first page of WB's thread).
10. Reboot.
I may be wrong, but shouldn't you just install bb patch?
If you have a memory card reader, use it to save the baseband patch via pc and then just apply it via xrecovery.
I'm sure this would work, try before reflashing rom.
Remember to backup just in case anything horrible happens.
Edit: when it says "unknown baseband" use dev tools-bad behaviour-crash system server. nd wait got reboot.

Well..
I've tried a lot of times to do this rom run but no success...
Now i'm using another rom in .52 BB.
Thanks for help.

[Q] [Question] How to upgrade from CM10 Nightly Build to 2nd boot build?

Hello.
I have installed the Defy Red Len CM10 Nightly Build.
I know there is a 2nd boot nightly build which provided a better solution than the non 2nd boot build
Can anyone provide a step guideline to upgrade / flash installation to the 2nd boot nightly build?
Thanks a lot

Here you go
if upgrading from previous CM10 builds:
1) Wipe Cache and Dalvik.
2)Flash Rom
3)Flash Gapps
4)Wipe Cache and Dalvik again & Reboot
and if coming from different builds(like CM7,CM9 etc)
1)Wipe Data, Cache and Dalvik
2)Flash Rom
3)Flash Gapps
4)Wipe Cache and Dalvik again & Reboot
Hope this helps you and ALWAYS MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP BEFORE FLASHING NEW ROM.
Thanks a lot. It works
Do you know how to the url for the Check update repo for 2nd boot build?
if you have CM10 from 24.09. and want jump to new kernel by Quarx you don't have to flash gapps ,in the other side yes you have to ,i recommended minimal gapps
yep¡ whit out gapss, for me works like a charm... the new build is 21.10

Does anyone know whether this build works on a MB525 with green lense as well, and can confirm that this is one build for 525 green and red lenses as well as for MB526 ?
Greetz.
I own a MB525, red lens, and I am using CM10 by Quarx (Sep 12th). So I just have to:
1) Wipe Cache and Dalvik.
2)Flash Rom
3)Flash Gapps
4)Wipe Cache and Dalvik again & Reboot
And, in today's release, then the update?
What about the kernel? Which one, and when? Thanks
EDIT: Oh, is it incluided in the ROM file now? Sorry, I don't quite understand what the differences are between classic CM10 nightlies and CM10 2ndboot nightlies (I know something about the custom kernel, but haven't found much information exclusively about it).
Please ask all questions in the Q&A section. Thread moved there.
I just followed these steps and now can't boot. I am able to enter the boot menu, but custom recovery just brings me back to the main menu, stable recovery does the same thing and stock recovery brings me to an android with a exclamation point in a triangle.
In fact anything I tap just brings me back to the main menu except boot and reboot.
Any ideas?
so the usual wipe and flash rom works even for earlier cm10 builds? i thought there was more than that (to install new custom rom.. flash some other files as well etc).. just making sure..
can u tell me the advantages? faster? more battery life? ........
General rulez to upgrade from CM10 24.09. to new qkernel :
1. Wipe's all data/cache/dalvik
2. install zip the newest/upgrede v4 from 27.10.
3. install gapps (all or minimal ) (the same gapps as 24.09. version)
4. do wipe's but only cache and dalvik
5. reboot
it's all enjoy
Question:
Whats the difference between 2nd boot builds and "non"2nd boot builds?
the new kernel gives as new possibility ,i can tell you technical staff ,but i use ROM before and after and i think that 2nd boot is faster and more stabile
Hi.
I'd like to upgrade to upgrade my Motorola Defy+ MB526 from Quarx CM10 24-09 (non-2ndboot) to 27.10 (2ndboot), but I'm not really sure of the steps. So I have to:
Open Stable Recovery
Wipe Cache, Dalvik and Data
Install zip from sdcard - 18.10 2ndboot build for MB526
Install zip from sdcard - update_for_18.10_v4.zip
Install zip from sdcard - gapps
Reboot
Is that right?
EDIT: Worked, done the following:
- Start Stable Recovery (of last Quarx non-2ndboot ROM)
- Backup all (Nandroid)
- Wipe data/factory reset
- wipe cache
- wipe dalvik cache
- install zip from sdcard -> 2ndboot ROM>100MB.zip
- install zip from sdcard -> update_for_xxxx_vx.zip
- install zip from sdcard -> GAPPS (I used PicoTTS (all))
- wipe cache
- wipe dalvik cache
- exit recovery
- shutdown
- Start Bootmenu
- shutdown
- Power on
- After first boot it rebooted but then it booted 2ndboot ROM perfectly.
Why is it that it should be shut down and restarted twice? Any particular reason?

do this:
goto recovery,
choose stable recovery>wipe data>wipe cache>advanced>wipe dalvik
than flash http://quarx2k.ru/cm10-2ndboot-nightly-defy(+)/CM10-20121018-NIGHTLY-mb526.zip
wipe cache and dalvik again
now flash http://quarx2k.ru/cm10-2ndboot-nightly-defy(+)/update_for_18.10_v4.zip
wipe cache and dalvik again.
and reboot
it should boot normaly,if not, than remove battery, and reinsert it after 10 mins,
first boot will take a little time,so dont worry.
if it boots perfectly than u can go into the recovery again and install gapps :good:

You can try install latest Aurora (5.0). You must have 5.0.2.7 or 5.5.0.4 recovery.
Instructions:
1. Download package to SD card
2. Boot to recovery
3. Full wipe (factory reset, cache, dalvik, battery stats)
4. Install package from SD card
5. Enjoy ICS!

Hello Mlopik
Thanks for your quick answer
I have 5.5.0.4 recovery instaled
I will try Aurora 5.0 in a few minuts lets see how it runs...
Is Aurora 5.0 a full Rom or just an update to the previous versions ?
Do I need to install a older version than 5.0 first ?
Thanks

[Defy MB 525 + cm7*] - Gapps problem.

Hello friends.
I have defy mb525 (motoblur, red cam),
I installed version CM7.1 and CM7.2 Jordan. I do all the commands Data / Cache Wipe and etc.. I install the ROM, install the gapps for GB, as described here in the forum, but when you start the phone, the google apps are not installed.
Tried with MIUI, based on 2.3.7, and also did not work. Already tested several versions of gapps, without success.
I tested with CM9, and this worked. However the version I got is unstable. And particularly prefer the 2.3.
Anyone know a solution?
Thanks
PS: sorry bad english

up for testing, got older versions, some news, and even more for other versions (ics, JB) ...
But it will not. Already on CM9, CM10, MIUI based 4.X without problems install.
Only in 2.3 that did not install. Not tested with CM6

not. Appears that was completed successfully.
Already downloaded again in 3 browsers, by direct download manager and even on another pc. Already downloaded 3 different versions and nothing. it works with CM9, however it installs in CM7, consists in application manager, but the icons do not appear anywhere, as if it had been installed. I traded for several roms CM7, MIUI based on 2.3, and also did not work.
Here, try my Gapps http://db.tt/w9fznRBg
Not sure it's differ from one you use or not, but I always use it on Official CM7.2 and worked.
I'm on latest nightly CM7.2, same device as you.

was the same as used, the official website. I'll download it and try it, but do not know what is happening.
edit: tested but did not work: (
Maybe try flashing back to stock 2.2.2 froyo, and redo everything again?
If this isn't work, I'm out of idea now. ^ ^;;

Error flashing miui 7 rom

Hey there. So, I tried installing Miui 7 (weekly updated one) after following the steps accurately, but it says, failed to extract dir from system to system.I tried running it from both internal storage and external, and re-downloading it,but to no avail. Help please ?Oh, and I was running ED300's cm12.1 update 8 (now on update 10,which actually sucks very much)
