OK im a newbie, so don't shoot me. I have an S4 and after hours of freaking out got my S4 rooted and with Cynemogen. Now, i noticed that i cant connect to it from my OSX Mac via USB. Previously i could either use kies or the Android File Transfer, but now nope. And its not showing on the device connected using as media etc or anything like that when i plug it in.
Am i missing something? And when i say rooted, i havent copied supersu yet on, and thats why i need to sort this out so i can.

About two weeks before, i had updated to marshmallow. Ever since, the OTG is virtually non functional with the handset not even detecting usb cards etc. I had tried turnaround the drive to FAT, fat32, NTSC etc and nothing seems to working. I used the otg checker app and it says that otg api is present but signal is absent.
How can i regain the otg functionality again?
Unfortunately I don't have a fix for you, but on the similar note. Worked for me after taking the OTA last night for 6.0. However it didn't work like it used to. Used to use file manager and go to the stick from there. This time when I plugged in the cable it just took a second then gave me the option to go to the flash stick I attached. Not sure if you got the official update or using the indian version that was posted. Just wanted to post to show that it does work and hope that someone with better knowledge than I can help you.

I am having the same.problem as Iamronin, definately not recognizing my OTG Cable and memory stick. Worked before i updated to Marshmallow (the official version).
Any help would be appreciated.
**UPDATE**
I have just tried my friends OTG Flashdrive and that worked fine. I was trying to use a normal Flash Drive and a cable. I guess the cable is faulty as it doesn't seem to work with any of my phones!

Strange.... !! for me its working awesome in MM. I can easily transfer files from here and there without using any 3rd party app.
My cable and pen drive work flawlessly on other devices, but my Moto X play does not recognize it. It works with a wireless keyboard receiver though. Any ideas on this?

Hello all,
I need to help a friend with his Note 4 N910W. The devices has some software issues but has a bad USB. Can not be flashed with Odin.
Already replaced the complete Charging port Flex/Module but still not connecting to PC for data. It doesn't also fast charge as I believe it uses the data pin to detect the charger plugged in.
I have tried rooting without pc then flashing a custom rom but can't find a rooting method.
Can anyone help or point to where a can get a ROM/FIRMWARE which is signed and can flash via the Stock Android Recovery cos I think it's the only next thing that can work.

i'm facing an issue with my SM-G935F, the OTG/FASTCHARGING/MTP port isn't getting recognized anymore with my laptop, tried everything toothbrush solution still no work, is there any solution to get my device to stock without a laptop? or any other solution to fix the port?

I bought a galaxy tab pro 12.2 sm-t900 on ebay, the listing said wifi was lost once the seller improperly installed a custom rom. I tried flashing various stock roms thru Odin to try and fix the wifi not working (couldn't find any firmwares earlier than 5.1.1). once that didn't work, I tried a few customs with the same results. Today, I finally downloaded a build prop. editor (thru an ethernet cable) and noticed that is said the tablet was a sm-t900 (which, I knew), but it also said it was a v1awifi, instead of the v2awifi that this tablet actually is. Which build prop. can I change in order to get the tablet recognized as the v2awifi. Or is there any other way to get this tablet recognized properly? I am hoping this may fix the wifi issue. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
