I installed CM7.1 on my Defy. Here are a few questions that I have regarding CM7.1
Q.1 How much free free or available memory does your CM7.1 phone show? Mine shows a very low 116/477MB (available/total). When I used stock Froyo with GoLauncher I easily got around 200mb free memory when no apps were running (juice defender+SetVsel were always running though)
Q.2 How do I increase the free/available memory on my Cm7.1 Defy? Running games in CM7.1 causes the phone to hang...I have to force close those games for the phone to function. Those games ran pretty well in my stock Froyo without any hang problems. What should I do regarding this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

See witch app's are running. Mine says 235MB free... Normally most of it gets emptied when needed.

I am currently running cyanogen 4.0.4 on a myTouch, I had about 70-80 applications installed on the phone and started to see a huge lag issue. I recently wiped the phone and started everything from fresh and the phone is working the way it should be. I have a 16GB SD card and looked into Apps2SD but is that the only option I have to run my applications on my SD card to keep my phone performance the way it is now?
Does anyone have any input?
apps2sd wont make much of a difference. i have 130 on mine and it runs fast. do you use setcpu or overclocker widget or anything like that?
So...I am running Fresh 1.1, and I flashed Madaco's new kernel...then I enabled compcache.
Ever since flashing the new kernel, my Taskiller widget (which now shows how many MB's of memory you have available) will start at about 94mb when I power on my phone. Throughout the day, as I use taskiller to close programs, the memory doesn't go back to 94mb, but slowly goes down. First it'll go to 90mb...than 88...than 82....than 66...and all the way down to 54. It decreases each time I use the taskiller saying that my maximum freed up memory is only at 54mb, when in the morning it started at 94mb.
Can anyone help me with this? or help me figure out why it might be doing this? Sorry if the description of what's happening is kind of confusing, but I don't know how to explain it any clearer.
Thanks for any help given!
You really shouldn't be using TasKiller. Find out why here: http://geekfor.me/faq/you-shouldnt-be-using-a-task-killer-with-android/
Uninstall TasKiller and you should be fine.
I use it cause the apps build up and kill my battery.
I stopped using any task managers for 2 weeks and my phone never really got any faster it actually was much worse when using the keyboard so I tried using them again and it's not as laggy anymore I don't really know how true that is I believe Fresh but it didn't help me
I've read about not using taskiller elsewhere, but I swear it makes a difference. Whenever I am experiencing lag, I run it, and boom...the lag is gone. It's not just my imagination either.
But back to the question: Why the heck would the available memory be going down each time I use taskiller?
I get the same thing and I have always wondered this also I will start out with a good amount of memory and later on in the day I might be able to get half of the memory I started with freed up
Started using Andriod on HD2, using the rom DL Desire NAND version, was great. Started downloading a few apps and stuff, then after a while started saying Low on space Phone storage space is getting low. So I deleted apps and cleared data and it still stays there, anyone else had this? Or can help me clean it up?
Hey guys,
I've got a little problem with my HD2. Every NAND ROM I ever used got very slow after a few days of usage. It starts lagging and sometimes I get random reboots.
Does anyone know how to solve this? It's so annoying!
Thanks for your help!
Sounds like your HD2 is running low on memory. I would install SuperBox or some task killer like Autokiller Memory Optimizer from the market and set it to aggressive. Superbox will let you pree up memory also...and clear cache.
the hyperdroid rom is pretty clean. have you got anything massive that you've installed. you could download watchdog and see if you have any cpu spikes or as MartyLK said download the memory optimizer from the market. you could also look at how much free ram you have during the times when your phone is beginning to lag

My Moto G4 64/4GB (latest stock ROM) has begun showing odd memory usage, NEVER showing that it is using over 1.8 GB of RAM under any circumstances. I have also been having countless UI and app crashes and lots of lag. I have tried every suggestion I can find to try and resolve this but have had no luck. If anyone could give me an idea of what may be going on it would be greatly appreciated.
