I just got my 6810, and I am noticing a clicking sound from the speakers as soon as I reboot. It does it about 5 times, and then goes away when the normal boot animation sounds. Ive searched for this, and so far havent heard of anyone else having this.

I just bought a used Nexus 4 and this is my first Android device so I'm not sure if this is normal.
I flashed it to the newest stock 4.4 ROM today and TWRP.
When the phone plays a system tone (like pressing a menu button, typing on keyboard, etc.) for the first time you hear it twice, but overlapping, like the tone played and then a split second later it played again. If you continue to make sounds it doesn't do that anymore.
If I put the speaker up to my ear I can hear it hissing and then stop.
As soon as I hear the hissing stop it will do the double overlapping tone again if I make another tone.
My guess is every time the system needs to re-initialize the audio it's doing this.
Has anyone else encountered this or know of a fix?
I also noticed that if I have the phone in Silent Mode I can hear a "pop" from the speaker once in awhile when pressing the navigation menu buttons.
I turned off "Touch sounds" and the pop went away.
Anyone else have this problem?
So this has happened maybe 3 times now. I did apply the latest OTA and did a hard reset so everything is fresh. I have had this phone lock up on a few occasions now. Last week I had the hardware keys quit responding. The power button and one of the volume rockers just didn't work. I had to download an app from the play store to get the reboot menu to pop up so I could reboot it. Keys were fine after reboot. The few times it has locked up, the phone makes a loud steady buzzer sound then will reboot and everything is fine. The screen will freeze along with the buzzing sound for maybe 10 seconds before rebooting itself. One time I was playing a game, the other was on an incoming wi-fi call it just locked up both times it played the buzzing sound through the speaker and did reboot itself. Starting to think it may be a hardware problem with maybe the PBA board. Only other thing I can think that might be messing it up, I do use adgaurd as a local VPN on this device.
Anyone else have such issues? I don't want to send it into Samsung just to have them tell me everything is fine if it's a software problem causing it. I have already hard reset so at this point I guess I could try to disable adgaurd to see if that helps. Anyone else have any similar problems with this phone?
OK I have read through the q&a and found similar but not exact problem. When I set up the phone as I pick ringtones it makes no sound for the first few seconds. Then it plays them fine after the first one does it. I tried a lot of things because I can barely hear any notifications. I did notice if I select the ringtone wait the time for it to get loud and then select it again it starts off loud. I did test it by once it was loud Everytime I clicked it I left it on that screen and locked the phone. Then I unlocked the phone and selected the same ringtone and back to quite the first time with no sound the first few seconds. But same as before once I did that if I clicked it again it was loud from the start. Not sure if this is the pop or ascending ringrone that is discussed in other forums. Thanks for any help.
I've noticed that when I switch to speaker while on a call there is a 1-2second lag till sound actually comes through.

I have notice same as well. No pop but acts like ascending ringtone. But one you play one, then the rest of them do it normal. Some weird delay...
Moto calls it a "feature", but for most of us it's just annoying.
Screen Touch Issues as Well
I have noticed the same thing with the sounds. Strange behavior when selecting ring tones, and some are way too quiet or don't play when you want to hear what they sound like. Once I select one that works and get the phone set up all is well.
Also noticed that sometimes the screen doesn't react to touches. Not too often, but noticeable.
Hopefully these issues get ironed out in a software update.
I just did a hard reset and since then I have a super annoying sound glitch. Whether it's when I skip a song, get a notification or start a video with headphones on, I hear a click before the sound starts and after it stops.
What can I do to get rid of this annoyance? This has never happened before.
Thanks!
Strangely enough, it doesn't happen with CyanogenMod... :/
So it's clearly a software issue
Alright well I've found a way to get rid of it. Simply by activating and deactivating the equalizer. I don't know why exactly but now it's working fine.
Hi.
I've encountered a problem two times now that I don't get any sound from my alarms and notifications. Just this morning I had 5 unheard alarms and a few notifications on my phone that went off silent. I did some testing with new alarms as well and they only showed up on screen. No sound. And yes, the volume is turned up?. The problem is resolved if I restart my device, but since it already happened twice, it will most certainly happen again. I should add that between the first and second time it happened I did factory reset the phone.
Anyone else having the same problem or have any tips I might try?
Since last update i got the same problem....
Glad I'm not the only one then? I also have the problem that makes the ear speaker really low so I have to use the other speaker to be able to hear a conversation.. This also happened after last update. I hope they resolve it soon.
Someone found solution for this ? I have the same problem now. My notification sounds goes off randomly...and my phone is set on sound, not vibration or mute.
When i press on the volume keys and check the sound level, the notification bar is on mute.
