I keep loosing my music play list. I will take my batt out, it fixes it. Then sometimes I have to wipe cache and delvik cache. That fixes it for a little while, then I loose it all again.
Why is going on?
Really? 183 people viewed but no one has a clue?
Some people have lives.don't be needy. And are you changing roms or just randomly losing them?

Just randomly loosing them. I have not changed ROMs in months
Have you tried a different music player? Which one are you using?
The stock one
What ROM are you running?

Royal Ginger? Dang. I never had a single issue with royal ginger, other than drama in the thread. Lol. I'm guessing the playlist is stored on the sd card. Have you lost any other data recently?
Not lost any other data. I did a full sd card wipe to see how that would do. Guess I will see in a little while.

Ok I know im not the only one to experience this but it happens ALL THE TIME NOW. Whenever I get an update or want to download a new app. It downloads then when it gets to 100% it just stays there!! Then I have to click cancel and keep trying till it finally installs. And all those downloads that didn't install the apk goes into your downloads folder on your SD card. This seems to only happen with ALL the extra kernels. Im just wondering if there is an easy fix that I've overlooked cuz I have checked everywhere and just can't find one. Thanks ahead of time for any help with this.

I've experienced this a few times but not consistently. Has this happened on multiple roms or just one? If you haven't already, I would go into Applications and force stop the Market, Clear Cache then reboot. You could also try flashing the latest gapps found in the CM 6 RC 2 thread.

Yes this has happened on multiple roms, ONLY after a flash a oc kernal though. But thx I will try that.

How long have you been having issues and did you use titanium backup to restore apps? That is the kernel that came with the Rom, have you tried any others? I am not sure why you would be having FC isuues or lag. My suggestion would be to wipe cache and dalvik cache and then reinstall the rom over the top of your current one. If that doesnt work, you can try a full data wipe/factory reset. Royal Glacier v1.3 will be out soon. You can also try that.
I did not back up apps as I was ok with downloading them again, since I don't have that many apps on my phone. I believe the kernel was not on the ROM when I flashed it over. I read the thread about changing kernels, which I did.
I followed all information to the teeth when I rooted my phone, if i do a full wipe my phone will still be rooted S off correct? ROM first then Kernel, correct?
Typically one would try to run fix_permissions when FCs happen in a known stable built.

My thread says nothing about changing kernels. Yes your phone will still be rooted after you wipe.
I am having an issue when im on edge my phone reboots itself when getting or sending data. has anyone else had this problem or is there something i can do??
The issues I'm having have to do with the camera. Everytime I take a picture it seems to mirror it. And another is when I try to send an mms video, the messaging app fc's. are there any known fixes or are these bugs? Can someone point me to a fix so that i can solve my issues?
Sorry, I read the wrong title on the thread. These issues are happening to me in Royal Ginger 1.6

What version are you on? Have you changed kernels or done any mods, or are you just running it how it came?

it wont let me edit yet, but forgot to say, I am useing the kernels that came with the roms, I didnt try any other, also I did a full wipe before going to 1.3, cleared all data
My suggestion for both of you would be to give the stock kernel from post #5 in my thread a flash and see if that helps anything. Make sure to wipe cache and dalvik first. That at least gives us a starting point to try and figure out what is going on. Thanks
I formatted the system from step 5, I didnt do that the first time and I believe that fixed the upside down screen, mostly just having a prob with the Market FC'ing, so I will run the stock kernel to see if that will fix the Market FC'ing, I will run this stock for a while and let you know the out come of it TrueBlue_Drew, Thanks
Update: I have ran the stock kernel all day and no Market FC, Normaly it's random but hasn't done it at all today so far

hey just wiped my ice glacier data and also the cache and flashed royal glacier v1.3, followed by flash of royal glacier blue theme, my maps and navigation do not work, I tried downloading maps from the market and it says : Duplicate Provider Authority, any advice?
Hello all , i have a big problem with every MIUI ROM from 1.7.x to 1.8x :/ , sometimes when i am listening to music and unlock my screen , some things immediately stop working.Music wont play , its shown that the song is played but its not , sometimes just force closes , Lockscreen doesnt work , 4-Way Reboot Mod doesnt work , Calling People also doesnt work , i am on MIUI 1.8.5 v.3: by MrGarark , did a full wipe before flashing , just restored my SMS/MMS/Contacts with MyBackUp. Any Help ?
Hi there,
I have been using MIUI ROMs since right back at the start of 1.7xx series and so far I haven't experienced any of the problems you've identified?
As a suggestion...I would try doing another full wipe and re-installation and see if the problems persist.
Cheers,
Jaybo

I've had a lot of problems restoring SMS/MMS/Contacts through titanium backup when moving to new roms. I recently installed MIUI and kept getting constant FC's after restoring my SMS/MMS/Contacts, so it could be a similar issue with MyBackUp?
Maybe try a full wipe, reinstall then test everything before restoring any backups.
Try Honey3D sense 3.0, everything's working, battery life is awesome, it's been 2 days since I charged my phone and I am still left with 20%. European ROMs rock, Chinese ROMs suck based on my experience.

MIUI has better battery life than Honey3D, a lot better, I know this from personal experience. Besides, Honey3D has been discontinued so its pointless if its not going to receive any updates in the future.
Anyway, back to the OP...
I am having no issues at all with 1.8.5 v3 but I was having similar problems to you when flashing 1.7.29 last week, it was fine until I restored my settings, contacts, etc, that's when it started with the problems

I'd wipe all the caches, dalvik included and then reinstall the rom followed by a permission fix. Good luck and don't give up.
Try not to stick with one ROM.. try different Roms. Evaluate which ones better suits you. I think it's very biased to say which Rom is the best. It all depends on personal use how ya use. Some devices may not handle the same way as others.
I have used MIUI . It's very fast ROM. But still have alot of bugs because its beta version not stable. version. Secondly I don't like it's iPhone look.
But it's good to post your query under Rom development so other users and developer read it.
Nonetheless I don't have good experience with battery life either. Again it all depends on different devices.

Restoring data over different roms is not recommended, especially when changing from sense to aosp rom due to different system architecture.
For those who are upgrading from 1.7.x to 1.8.x, as stated above, simple cache and dalvik cache wipe is enough. But due to some users experiencing problems in upgrading, simply back up the data using miui backup app, and restore it over fresh installed rom.

I had a similar problem, what I found was when restoring b/u from MIUI backup that's when everything went wrong. I did a wipe and factory reset then loaded MIUI, I then reverted to my Titanium b/u and have had no more problems. I think for me the problem was the miui backup causing all the forced errors.
Hello Together,
im considering to change from CM 7.1 Rc1 to the latest nightly #177. I have two questions about that.
1. Is it worth to change regarding to the performance? ( ive found no bugs on 7.1 that are annoying me, so the only reason for a change would be a performance enhancement)
2. Is there a way to Update so that there is no need to install all apps again? (i'm not sure if i can just install that over the old version)
Thx in Advance
1: Yes, definitely
2: Just install over RC without wiping anything. Everything will remain intact.

He means Cm7 Rc1
my status bar was gone after i upgrade 177 from RC1.
but it is fine after a factory data reset,
however,all my data have gone.
I have restore my data through nandroid and titinium restore but it doesnot solve the status bar problem.

Hello!
I recently rooted my Desire Z because of the sense restarting issue on the official gb rom. Started off ok with Virtuous Sense but it started randomly restarting the phone quite often - a few times a day. Tried fresh wipe with no apps, no luck. So installed old official 1.84 Froyo (not greedy, just want a working phone with Sense) rooted by rmk. I still get the same problem.
Pretty much ruled out a rogue app.
Can anyone suggest anything?
Thanks in advance.

So it's the whole phone restarting ? Could be a loose battery. Try wedging a little bit of paper (perhaps folded a few times ) in between the top end of the battery and the case, to try and make sure it keeps contact.

Thanks for the reply. The battery seems tight and it's only started happening since I rooted though.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
I had this happen every day before I rooted. It has happened after from time to time but mostly on Sense-based ROMs.
I don't know if it's coincidental but at least for me on MIUI and CM it seems to happen less frequently (maybe once every second week).
hey bro that used to happen to me alot too
in my experience it only happened to me on the original rom and on cyanogen 7 rom. try the wiping everything and using different type of rom like maybe miui or something that is not sense to see if it helps.
hope i could help
Thanks for the replies. Have done a clean wipe of virtuous sense and it has yet to restart. If it does, I will take your suggestions and try a completely different Rom - though I will miss friendstream!

Nope. Keeps happening. Gonna try miui but surely there must be something I'm doing wrong here. Open clockwork, choose Rom and select clear data, cache and davik. Anything else required?

you first flash the rom and then wipe data, cache & dalvik?
...i would suggest to wipe before you flash the rom
and you could also use superwipe (flash it through recovery):

In Clockwork, you make the selection to flash the ROM, then it asks if you want to wipe. But the wipe actually does occur before the ROM flash. That is what the OP is talking about.

ah ok... so he doesn´t boot into recovery and wipes manually sry for misunderstanding, but superwipe is a good idea anyway....
Thanks for replies. Yes, wipe takes place before rom install. Installed miui.us. Very nice, but same problem. There must be something I've done. Anybody any ideas?

Which version of cw recovery do you use? you could try to install a older one (3.0...)

I use the newest version. 5.0.2.7 I think.
Did the fix permissions thing and no crash so far. Will repost tomorrow see how it goes.
Many thanks to everyone for all the suggestions.

Aaaarrrggghhh! Worked fine all day. Put it in my pocket when I got home from work. Took it out, pressed the power button and it turned on! It only ever happens when it's turned off. I've never had it reset when in use.
Any other suggestions?
