Inherited a mytouch 4g so naturally I rooted it and put CM7 on. I simunlocked it using the "ultimate" root guide so I wanted to get it working with AT&T, since I recently had my iphone stolen (which I didn't particularly like anyways, but was still upset about losing a $400 piece of equipment). I bought a cheapo gophone for 20 bucks to keep me going until I could get a replacement figured out. The gophone came with an AT&T 3G gophone sim card, so I threw that into the mytouch and went into the APN settings to set everything up.
NOW. Here's the problem. I've been doing my homework and I'm aware there are other threads about similar problems - but none of them directly apply (what with the gophone sim) and none of them seem to solve the problem. My APN settings don't save. I input everything, hit save, nothing gets listed in the APN list. I'm aware about the possibility of them saving but not displaying properly, but even if there was something like that going on I'd be able to get EDGE working still, right? (Which, btw, is all I want, I'm very aware the mytouch is only compatible with AT&T EDGE, I just want text and calling.)
For what it's worth,
Model number = HTC Glacier
Android version = 2.3.7
Baseband version = 12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.26_M
Kernel version = 2.6.35.14-cyanogenmod-g9e5cdf2 [email protected] #1
Mod version = CyanogenMod-7.1.0-glacier
Running permaroot with engineering bootloader.
Thanks in advance if anyone can tell me what's going on.

So, I bought an unlock T-Mobile MyTouch 3G (the original) from eBay. The guy was silly and didn't actually reset it, so I was able to put my SIM in and go. I have T-Mobile and the grandfathered $5.99 plan. I changed the APN to wap.voicestream.com and everything was golden - got 3G, Gmail/App Market/Youtube worked. So, as I do, I figured I'd root the phone and used the instructions from the CyanogenMod Wiki. I got as far as flashing the phone with sappimg.nbh, restarted, and now I can't "activate" or whathaveyou. I tried just changing the APN, to no avail.
My internet still works when putting the SIM in my unlocked iPhone.
So, my question is...how do I get it to work? Am I now just stuck? Is there a way to flash the phone back to stock Donut?
i am stuck in the same boat..
apparently once connected thru the MyTouch.. tmobile will block your internet from working again for that particular MyTouch phone with that simcard..
It's bullcrap. But whatever. Will this happen with the Nexus One also? Because my whole deal was, I was going to buy a cheap Android phone and, if I like the OS, pay the $529 or whatever for a N1.
everyone gets free internet once there sim card FIRST goes in but after a while it stops this happend to me
mytouch 3g internet
i have a mytouch 3g and the internet and data plan from a tmobile wing.it works with a unlocked iphone but i cant get it to work with the mytouch.only phone calls and text.no internet, youtube etc.anyone know how to fix this problem?
So I gave my girl friend my old HTC HD2 swapping out her old Blackberry. For some reason however she is not getting any data service (she is on T-Mobile). Talk and texts work fine but for some reason all we see is "H+" where it should say 3g. Currently she is running CyanogenMod-7-04052011 from TyphooN v3.0.0. Build # GRI40. We called Tmobile and they switched her service plan from the Blackberry service to android. and it worked for about 2-3 hours but now its back to "H+" with no data at all.
Does anyone know what might be causing this? I havent tried to update her to the newest version. But i know the phone worked fine because i used it with my AT&T sim card and it worked fine.
Help would be greatly appreciated!

H+ is good. Its faster then 3g. Make sure the apn settings are right.
Settings/wireless and network / mobile networks, access point names/press menu to add, fill in info, press menu after and save. Then tick the box and your set.

Thought I'd post my experience on here just because I know a lot of us are switching over and I must have gone through fifteen different threads to figure out how to get my data, talk, and text working. To start off I bought a T-Mobile nano sim and just plugged it straight into my droid thinking it would all be gravy...nope. This is exactly what I had to do: First, go into your mobile network settings and change to LTE/UTMS/GSM. Second, change your (Select Network) to GSM only. Third, create an APN that is as follows: NAME;T-Mobile, APN; epc. tmobile. com, MMSC; ht tp:// mms . msg. eng. t-mobile . com/mms/wapenc . APN Type; default, mms, supl APN Protocol; ip4/ip6. LEave everything else alone. trust me this is the most reliable way to go about doing the switch over and the data is fast, plenty fast. The phone info . apk app does work but for the ultra its not needed so don't worry with it. HAPPY SAVINGS all you DROID LOVERS.
Thanks for the help. I have unlimited Verizon with my bootloader unlocked, but I have issues with good service here where I live and work with Verizon. T-mobile may be better, so I am considering trying it out soon. I am going to test TMO for 7 days with their free program and see. If it works, I may just follow these directions and use my Droid Maxx.

How ur work on gsm? If I out mines on gsm internet won't work. Umts is the only way mines work. I get h+ but at times its slow. Worst playing games
P.s am on metro PCs same crap lol T-Mobile all my settings r from T-Mobile

I picked up a Droid Maxx XT1080M (Not the ultra, but they seem so.. similar....) which was unlocked.
I popped a NanoSIM into it, rebooted, and it took a minute but the device figured out to auto switch to the GSM/UMTS/LTE side of the baseband. After that the only thing I needed to do was add the T-Mobile LTE APN.
I'd check your APN and make sure it's on fast.t-mobile.com. From what I've noticed is that when I boot it up, and WIFI is off, if I am to start browsing it goes from E (edge) to H (HSPA) to LTE in about ... 2-3 minutes of browsing/using data. Then it sticks on LTE. This is not always the case as I've rebooted a few times tonight without it bumping down to EDGE.
Getting 43mbps down and 33 mbps up on LTE, and 6down/2up on UMTS/HSPA. In Seattle... This device hits the sweet spots for T-Mobile LTE bands with 1700/2100. We'll miss out on their 1900 build-out, but should still have HSPA+ on those other bands anyway.
One odd message I get after every reboot is The SIM card is from an unknown source. does not seem to affect anything. Anyone know if this is normal? I've not seen this error before on other unlocked devices.
I am on metro, I don't have that issues at all. I pop in Sim, did a apn n wallah 4g LTE n every work fine took me a hot minute to figure out how to get LTE to work.
The Sim car error is Cuz its a Verizon fone. It doesn't effect the fone at all. Once we get root n we get to flash I know we won't c that no more.

Sadly, my phone seems to have a borked radio.
What happened? So I popped in T-Mobile SIM card, and calling and texting is a charm. (Except for the Unknown SIM issue, of course.) I then found out that I was getting NO data after a factory reset. So then I looked to downgrade OS version, blah blah, flashed radio, did fastboot config carrier, so on and so forth. No joy. Sigh...
EDIT: Just realized I revived the topic...

Verizon has changed something in the system part of the most recent ROMs to prevent t-mobile use. I had the same issues. For some, I could bypass the block by removing some of the CDMA references in build.prop. For the most recent Verizon ROM, nothing I tried worked.
Luckily, I am unlocked. Moved originally to a ported Moto X ROM, and then to CM12, and everything works fine there.
That's odd, I'm on the latest build and have 0 issues with Tmobile.
I just plugged my T-Mobile nano sim in last night and used the instructions on this thread and a few others around the internet to get T-Mobile 4GLTE or HSPA+ to work. I can text, make calls, and I get all the Edge (shown as an "E") data i want, but It is way to slow to be useful. I have tried it on both my droid maxx phones (one 2013 - 32gb, and one 2014 - 16gb). Both are on latest system version 24.3.7. Any other advice to make data work decent? I can get NO 4G or HSPA+
Does tmo say you have wcdma or LTE access where you are.
I am having the same issues after FDR and data wouldn't work anymore. In my area I am LTE so the droid ultra that worked well in the last 4 months on T-Mobile, I think it is a software problem.
Yes it is software problem. If you can get your phone rooted and bootloader unlocked then reflash the rom it works perfectly. I get LTE on tmobile on the CM rom no problem.
I run LTE just fine.. All I needed to do was add T-Mobiles APN to my phone..

Hey S4ers,
So I recently gave my friend my S4 (i337) restored to NB1. She does not have an active data plan, but I figured since I'm giving her the phone, it wouldn't matter too much.
She used to have an unlocked T-Mobile Phone working on AT&T, just running it on the EDGE network.
Anyway long story short, she cannot receive MMS anymore after using this phone. The phone has signal, but does not display E, 2G, 3G, 4G, or LTE. Just the signal bars. So I ordered an unlock code and received it, thinking that if I unlock the SIM that she could get this functionality. I tried the #0111*CODE# method in the dialer and receive an incorrect MMI message. Are there any other methods to unlocking the phone with the code that I have? No root would be ideal, because she has everything all set up on it, but I am open to any suggestions, really. I was wondering if I am going down the correct path in enabling MMS, by unlocking the phone like her old one used to be, or if AT&T needs to be contacted.
FYI, when we set up the phone, we called AT&T to register the new SIM, and provided the IMEI number, is it possible that they turned off any functionality because it was a smart phone without a data plan?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

What carrier SIM is being used in it? Also check your APN settings.
She is on AT&T and the APN is good. We had to get a new micro sim
Well, I gave up trying to use a Verizon mvno. One of my Page Plus automatic renewals failed, and it wouldn't activate until 2nd level support changed my IMEI to an iPhone 6 I borrowed. The procedure in the Verizon thread about activating an iPhone 6 and then moving the SIM to the Axon didn't work for me.
As we know, going to Sprint is out.
T-Mobile in my area has a weak signal.
That leaves American Telephone & Telegraph.
I tried searching for AT&T and ATT in this forum, but I only get results for at or attempt. I even tried putting quotes around it.
I bought a Red Pocket AT&T SIM, although it might be for T-Mobile. There's no printed identification on it, but someone at Cellular Depot wrote 'A' on it. There are two APNs on it T-Mobile US LTE and T-Mobile US.
When I try to add a Red Pocket AT&T APN, it will save it until I enter 410 for the MNC. Then it deletes it.
Did they send me the wrong SIM?
I'm running version B32, and I'm stuck at this level without the ZTE update server.
Was there a trick to save it on another phone, and then move it over?
Thanks
Just to close the issue...
I was accidentally sent a T-Mobile SIM. Cellular Depot was very good, and quickly sent me a replacement SIM for AT&T service.
