the 2nd mic is put there to cancel background noises, it doesn't cause echo..

Yes, but I have an issue... it's a bit complicated to explain and I'll use google translate... so I hope you guys will understand what I mean
Me and my girlfriend we both have a Defy. If both use the speakerphone, as I speak I do not hear what she says, and vice versa. We must speak one at a time...

i don't use cover

Is there any particular place or time that this happens?
Because this never happens to me or any other Defy users that I know.

You are both using your phone in speakerphone mode, what did you expect, of course this introduces feedback.
Noise cancellation can only work so far.

Sure, you should try to take your finger over the 2nd micro and hear if there is a echo too ^^

Open the back cover, the hole on the back cover points directly to a space at the back, try filling it with chewing gum

Motorola Investigates Atrix Voice Problems

Anyone with this problem?

I noticed it on the very 1st call I made. I called a coworkers desk phone and he immediately said he could barely hear me. We swapped phones and I could hardly believe it.
I did notice one of the forum posts mentioned a new SIM card. My phone shipped with one, but I am using my old one. I guess I'll try putting it in the phone. Will there be any issues caused by putting the new SIM in?

I read a post where someone stated that turning off the noise cancelling helped out a ton.

Settings > Call Settings > Noise suppression. I'm guessin that's what he/she is talking about.
Did not help my phone. Thankfully the overall consensus is that it's a software issue...
Waiting for an update.
In contrast the Atrix' back speaker performs better than my Vaio's one...
(PowerAmp helps)

Original Headset

Where can I find the original headset, because I broke mine and I need Radio and they were pretty loud.

I would be also very interested in this. Permanently separated L from R today
so am I. I was looking for the original headset but was not able to find it. Please, once someone find it, place the link in this topic!
Thanks
i've never used mine - I wasn't happy with sound-quality.
You know what? Will trade mine (unused!) for this (http://www.obostore.com/2200mah-andida-battery-for-motorola-bf5x-p-787.html)
what the heck... just bought it - i guess it's worth a try

That battery capacity is certainly overrated. There's no way increasing the battery capacity by more than 40% without increasing the battery size.
I use iphone 3G headset.
All work fine. Button and mic.

I found two headsets original from Motorola,
which one is better: SJYN0394A or SJYN0234A?

I would be very happy to trade you one of those, I have one lying in my cupboard...though
That battery is a piece of [email protected], I brought it in China. Used it for 3 weeks and it wouldnt charge anymore through the phone...costed like USD5
You can try to fix that by your own by soldering. Or you can ask a technician to fix that.
I fix headphones and small problems like that will only cost you around US$1 to fix. )
radio work fine too
hi.....i was looking for it to...but in true motorola uses a generic sony earphone
Defy OEM headset
Found new original OEM headsets here.

[Q] Person on call does not hear me when I first answer the call

When I answer a call, the person on the other line does not hear me if I speak as soon as I answer the call. Is any one else having this? I have to call someone, wait till they pick up, say hello, hello. They catch the second hello every time. I can't help but think this is not normal.

I've had that happen a few times.
This happens to me every time. My last two Android devices didn't do this.
Same here, but it happened on other phones I've had, so I'm guessing it's more of at&it's issue for me.

Happens to me too? Are you using a bumper?
According to my fiancé when I have the bumper on she misses my first hello when I answer. Naked N4; hears me just fine.

I'm having the same issue as well and I am using a bumper. Maybe I'll try without it. Thanks. I wonder if the op is using a bumper as well.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
I am not using a bumper. Currently using an s line case. I do not think its the case as I do not change the level of my voice, just say hello twice and they always hear me on the second hello. I too have never had this issue with any of my other phones. But if others are having the same issue I will not try for a replacement. Just trying to see what everyone else has to say. I will start a poll to see if its just AT&T or T-Mobile as well.
is this infamous "hello hello" bug from Samsung Galaxy S?
https://www.google.co.in/webhp?sour..._qf.&bvm=bv.1354675689,d.bmk&biw=1366&bih=667
I have this issue and my phone is naked as a baby.
I'm having the same issue. First discovered problem yesterday when leaving messages for people and them complaining they couldnt understand my message.
Did an extended call test with my GF this morning at the house. I called her using my phone and she called me using my phone so we could both experience both ends of the call. The best way I can describe it is it sounds like a speakerphone conversation. The voice from nexus is muted unless speaking, and the unmute doesnt happen as soon as they speak but rather a moment after they begin speaking. I'm on TMobile.
same issue with me. Maybe is related to the buzz noize from the speaker during the call.

My speaker buzzes even when it's not in a call. If I just put the phone to my ear I can hear a small crackle...
To the OP: That seems weird. I wouldn't know about that for myself just yet, being that I haven't activated mine on any network. I'll be doing that when I get into work today. I still have a T-Mobile sim card there. Can't wait to test out the call quality and what not.

Yeah I have had it as well, I didn't think too much of it since I had the same problems on the iphone. It's pretty much a habit for me to wait a second and then say hello.
I apologize for bumping this thread, but did anyone ever figure out why this is happening? I have the same issue every time I get an incoming call. I'm using T-Mobile.

I noticed from a post in a similar thread that there was mention of a recent commit to CM, so I have a feeling that if that gets pushed in there sometime it'll most likely be fixed in the other ROMS in the time to come. Don't think there's anything you can do to fix it yourself- unless you're a developer.
I have the same problem. But I really don't care. People can wait
the latest cm10.1 nightlies supposedly have fixed this. I don't get a lot of calls so I haven't really checked.

No Call Sound Through Earpiece

Hey guys, so just yesterday I haven't been able to hear anything through the earpiece. Every time I receive a call, the person on the other end can hear me but I can't hear them. If I play through the speakers or if I plug in some earphones, then i'm able to hear sound but not through the earpiece. It's a huge inconvenience and just wondering if anyone has encountered this problem and what can I do to fix it?
Many thanks guys

On that one you should hear a high tone, if you don't you probably have damaged the normal earpiece.

Yeah it appears that way. I've sent an email to the shop I bought it from for a warranty claim so hopefully they'll repair it for me. I appreciate the help though man.
