Heyho
My defy+ got wet and the Display backlight is gone.
I thoroughly cleaned everything with isopropyl and let it dry for 2 days, but got still no backlight . I have found some cheap replacement LCD Screens but i am not sure whether it will be enough just the install a new LCD .
1. Is the backlight integrated into the Display unit?
2. Is the defy display compatible with the defy+ ?
Thnx!!

so today i tried to jtag it and the worst case happened the copper plating on the pins came out.. ...so is their any other pin out??? i can see the exact same pins at the back on the same location are these the same pins..???

Hello. Today, after cleaning off lcd diffuser, I got lcd connected back to the motherboard, but when I booted it, image was in half with different colors, I tried to reposition connectors, and it was ok for a sec, until it went totally black. Only backlights working. Tried to charge battery externally, nothing. Still black screen. Both cells are 3.84v, I think thats good enought to boot at least into bootloader. Everything black. Any ideas? Any way to check that lcd are ok? As I think that might be lcd problem or lcd wiring problem.
Hello, I'm currently trying to repair a water-damaged G2. The battery was dead and I replaced it. Now the phone works, except for the fact that the backlight doesn't light up. LCD and touch are working fine (with the flash of my phone I can see and interact with the ui), so I'm trying to understand if the led of the backlight deteriorated or if the problem is that it doesn't receive the power.
So my question is: does someone know which connector and which pins carry the power to the backlight? I want to run a simple test and put 3.3V - 5mA to these pins and see if something lights up
I think that the connector for the backlight is this.

That seems to be the case, since the connectors are labeled A and C. I've just tried to light it up but it remains dead, that is probably it. Thank you. Too bad i have to buy a full lcd+digitizer in order to replace the lcd display.

Im highly irrational when it comes to cooking,l) everything is apples and oranges. This tech stuff is tricky. Who out there can help me with black screen on ZTE PRESTIGE N9132. IT lights up at the beginning of a USB connection. Then backlight goes out. Backlight is limited to the ZTE power up screen, then out!
Hello my daughter do have this mobile phone. She came with it to me and display was filled with random color stripes over whole display ( verticall ). I have tried to restart phone but it wont turn on no single mark of life ( no charging marks of charging not even single vibrate if i try to turn it on ). I have tried to do restart or go to the download mode but nothing has work. She told me that she has dropped her phone but only thing that was broken was cover glass and not single scratch on display etc. Any ideas what can be broken? Could some cable got disconnected by dropping it?
I think that the LCD has a mechanical damage. I saw a phone once. The display glass was fine but not the lcd. It had wierd random color lines.
In that case replacing the LCD display was the solution.
You should try to charge the battery. Maybe it is empty but you can't see the charging?
Hey.
I've tried to fix my phone screen's digitizer (first idea was to unplug the screen and plug it back in, which kinda worked). The phone worked fine while disassembled and I did a stupid thing - I turned it off by disconnecting the battery, as the power button was not working while disassembled. After I put it back together it did not turn on anymore (disassembling it again does not help). The notification LED is flashing while I'm holding the power button, it also starts flashing when I plug in the charger.
What could be the issue here?
EDIT: I figured out the issue - I broke off a tiny component on the motherboard while putting it back together. Took me a while.
How is the phone now? Did you replace the motherboard or lcd display? Did you repaired? Is the phone fixed?
