Does anyone have this keyboard and figured out how to get it to pair with our tablet? I'm wondering if there is a custom ROM out there that will let it work. I've tried pairing the devices and the tablet takes forever to try and pair and eventually it doesn't work. Does anyone know how to get this device to work.

anybody?
and if so, what model?
Just gave it a try with a MS Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000: connected & paired in about 30 sec. Seems to be working fine...
There are known issues with bluetooth in 4.2.1 (4.2 in general) and Google is supposedly fixing this in the next update. Its kind of hit or miss if you can get something to connect.
thanks for the replies
i've tried a speedLink Snappy BT mouse which is detected and pairs OK but otherwise does not work -- no cursor or buttons response.
i might try and get a microsoft 5000.
or just wait for the update!
I'm running rooted stock 4.2.2. Previously there was no problem pairing my Speedlink Snappy BT mouse, but since I went from 4.2.1 to 4.2.2 I can't pair it at all. Very occasionally if I mash the mouse buttons a pointer will briefly appear on the screen, but that's about. The Nexus does recognise the mouse in the BT settings screen, but won't pair.
Is anyone else having similar problems, or, is anyone happily pairing a BT mouse? If you are, what mouse is it?

Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Update. I've tried the mouse on a couple of other Nexus 7s, also running 4.2.2, and it pairs without problem. There's something therefore interfering with the pairing on my device. I've cleared caches, and deleted any other BT apps, to no avail. Any suggestions?
thanks

Still have same issue - was anybody able to find solution?
Have same mouse and was using it ok but since some moment I am unable to pair this mouse with Nexus. Seems it is "stuck" somewhere in some config and as device is not rooted and I do not want to do factory reset if possible I am not sure where it can be hiding...
Anyone was able to fix this since original post please?
Hey,
I own a T330NU. I bought a Bluetooth Keyboard to use with it. Everything was fine for a month, and then all of a sudden, the keyboard started being "unable to communicate" with Bluetooth. I unpaired it, tried to pair it again and it still didn't work. I NEEDED to use my keyboard, so I did a reset and restore and it worked fine after that. Until another month later, when the same thing happened. This time, a reset didn't help.
I'm able to connect the keyboard to other devices, such as my Macbook and iPhone. I'm able to connect my tablet to other Bluetooth devices, like an audio speaker and my boyfriend's T330NU. I'm also unable to connect my keyboard to my boyfriend's T330NU.
I tried rooting my tablet to see if it would help. It did not. I deleted the Bluedroid folder. That did not help. I tried turning my tablet on and off. That didn't help. I tried most of the Bluetooth keyboard apps on the Play marketplace, that did not help.
There aren't any custom ROMS for the T330NU, so I feel like I'm screwed. I NEED to be able to use a keyboard with my tablet. I'm waiting for the Stock ROM to download and MAY try that. But c'mon! I'm also going to try out an Apple Bluetooth Keyboard tomorrow, but if it doesn't work, I may pull out my hair. AGH! Any ideas?
hi,
from your post;
I'm also unable to connect my keyboard to my boyfriend's T330NU.

suggests the problem is the keyboard not the tab.
as far as i know bluetooth devices need batteries, perhaps that's the issue?

You were right! Weird! Battery fixed it!
I'm trying to get a sense of whether the following bug is only affecting me or other users as well. I did a full factory image flash of 6.0 and attempted to pair a bluetooth keyboard and bluetooth audio receiver. For the keyboard, it forces the other device to generate a pin that is then typed on the keyboard. I eventually got this to work, but the NP kept taking a while just to generate a code, and would frequently time out before I could send the code. Once paired though, it worked fine.
The main issue is the audio receiver, which has the simple 0000 pair code. When I type it in on the player (or any other number for that matter), there's no way to click next or proceed to have it pair. It just sits there until it times out.
Anyone else deal with this and/or find a workaround?
I just picked up 2 nexus players on sale at walmart and have been setting them up. I updated the first one to marshmallow before doing any setup and noticed something similar. I could not pair a microsoft bluetooth mouse i have, it would discover it and attempt to pair, first is says pairing, then connecting then a few seconds later says "could not pair". It doesn't ever prompt for a pin and I've tried several times. I was able to pair a ZAGG folio case keyboard I use with my nexus 10 tablet, it prompted me to type in a pin and that paired just fine. Interestingly, last night I picked up a Logitech K830 keyboard (really nice btw) that has a touchpad built in and it won't pair, same behavior as the mouse except it does prompt me to type in a pin on the keyboard, which it seems to accept but then won't finish pairing. Luckily it also has a wireless dongle I just connected via USB and that work fine.
On the second player I let it do OTA updates to 5.1.1 and the keyboard pairs up just fine. I'm going to see if after doing the update to marshmallow (and not wiping my data) if the pairing will still be there and work.
My thought was maybe marshmallow has trouble pairing with mice, or devices that have mice integrated. But it sucks your reciever won't work either. It would seem there's a bug.
Bump, I'm having issues pair a gamepad. It won't let me press "enter" to submit the pairing code

New update out, can anyone confirm this is fixed? I rather not format and setup again if it isn't fixed
Fixed problem pairing Bluetooth mouse on nexus player Android 6.0.
I found a fix. First of all I don't see an update on my nexus player as of today. But I could not pair the Microsoft mouse no matter what I try. So I replaced the batteries in the mouse with fresh and it paired and connected right away. I guess if the batteries are weak it can't pair.

Loaded the latest img from Google. Still have the issue. I am unable to enter the ping for the Bluetooth gamepad. It doesn't take batteries but it has been fully charged.
Problem Solved, updated firmware on the Bluetooth controller
Am also on Marshmallow, bootloader unlocked on my Nexus Player - love the device btw - I have the Asus gamepad, a HP K4000 bluetooth keyboard and the nexus remote control all paired and functional. Tried to add a Logitech m557 bluetooth mouse and it starts to pair and then says it cannot connect. I have another bluetooth mouse and I get the same result with trying to pair it as well. Bit of a headscratcher - Any advice would be appreciated
TIA
Just got my nexus player and I am trying to pair the remote but no matter what I do it will not pair. I have tried rebooting it and taking the batteries out of the remote and still no go. I saw a few threads here and no solutions. Can anyone help?

Did you try pushing the button on the bottom of the player? and you held the two buttons to try to pair it right? i don't remember if you can use it initially but you can also download the remote app on your phone...
I just got it paired. I had to pair a mini bluetooth KB first and go through the initial set up. I had been messing around and decided to try the remote one more time and it worked. Time to unlock it, root it and hopefully AOSP 7.1
