If I resize my recovery partition on my HD2, is all data on my SD card lost? and would i have to reflash a new NAND ROM?
Repartitioning your internal memory will not affect the data on your sd card in any way.
Yes, you would have to flash a new ROM, or restore a backup.
so i take it the recovery partition clockwork uses it not on that sd card
which leads to my other question, if my rom requires a 169mb recovery and i use a 400mb recovery, will it work?
yes it will work, but you will waste 231mb of rom space. This is because you will set a system partition of 400mb, and load into it 169mb of files, BUT once the rom is running, all your user data, installed apps, etc get put into different partitions. Nothing will use the extra 231mb in the system partition, so it will be completely wasted and unuseable.

is there any sense rom that will work on a 150mb recovery? if so please share the link
Very unlikely. Why not just change the size?

bored on my help desk job, was gonna mess with my rom,but if im goin to resize i rather do it at home....lol
think im gonna try the bliss rom, any takes on it?
well you could always flash the rom, play with it, then when you get home, do a cwm backup, change the part size, reflash the rom, then in cwm do an advanced restore and just restore the sd-ext and data partitions. hey presto, system size changed and any settings you configure today will be restored into the new flash.
CAnt comment on the rom, i only use typhoon.

CAUTION; the CWM partition make it is for the SD and it WILL ERASE ALL DATA ON SD , for partition internal memory u have to use other tools on a PC (my favorite its HD2 toolkit)

Typhoon has a nice stable sense rom.?
Send me a link
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
Typhoon is a cm7 rom. Cm7 roms don't have sense.
I CAN highly recommend it, though. I've been on an older version typhoon for over a month now, and the only bug is the occasional failed video capture. Annoying, but doesn't happen often.
Hi all
After flashing 20120719 nightly I noticed CWM was upgraded to 6.0.0.7? and I've lost the ability to mount /sdcard
As I don't have a actual SD card, I'm not not able to flash anything
Can anyone help?
I read about an issue with the kernel not reading files in the sdcard... there is a new kernel released to resolve this... if u could get it on ur internal sd card and flash it.. should help

Sent from my GT-N7000
I have successfully rebooted into recovery but I can not mount the SD card to ROM this thing. I have read through a bunch of threads and to little help. So could someone please throw me a bone here? Thank you.
What your mean u cant mount, is it doesnt detect your sdcard.
so what your sdcard partition?
and what ROM are u using...
It will not detect the SD in CWM. I am not sure of the partition. I am using the stock ICS ROM.
If you are talking about the microSD card, some versions of CWM will not mount it. Some will only use internal memory. I'm guessing that is a big part of your issue.
Ok. What version of CWM do I need to use to see my microSD card?
fixed it.
I have this same problem. How did You fix that problem? At the moment I can't make a backup in CWM
I didnt bother doing a backup. I went into CWM and used the oldest version it would let me. Then I could see the internal SD. It wasnt until I booted as you would a ROM the CWM fixed for the TF101 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1213723. This is the one that worked for me.
Guys, all of a sudden CWM can't mount the sdcard. I wiped the data in order to install Vanir's ROM. I was previously on Rayglobe's. Is there anyway to come outta this? I'm desperate guys, please help me. I don't want this costly phone to become a brick! It's D802 BTW.

Sorry, correct me if my knowledge was wrong - but how u want to mount a SD-Card when the phone has no slot for it?
Hi,
Yes, you can't mount sdcard in recovery with phones without sdcard (the recovery can't mount the link to the internal memory, even if it's called sdcard), if you have an USB OTG cable you can mount your external sdcard and make backup or put into it some flashable zip's...
If you wiped data, why you want to mount your sdcard , you have your rom in the internal memory so just flash it...

Internal storage is named "sdcard", even though that doesn't make any sense. I've Nexus 4 and it shows the same thing too.

I used to flash other ROMs through "sdcard" from CWM menu before, it was working perfectly until now. There's also "external_sdcard" sub-menu too.

Hum... No need to mount your sdcard to flash your rom... Like I said external sdcard is if you use an USB OTG cable, it's the link for your external USB storage.
In CWM navigate to the sdcard then where you put your rom, simple...
But if you wiped your sdcard in recovery, it will be harder for sure...
Or I don't understand what you mean
So I flashed TWRP D802 ver. from Flashify, but now I can't even do a factory reset as it says that it cannot mount /data. Now I can't wipe nor can I install a zip from TWRP. Please help me.
Just flash stock. Go to general section. "Go back to stock"

Hello Omkar,
Maybe, I don't understand you well. For me, a memory card is... a sdcard. Have you got external and internal sdcard/memory card? what recovery have you used? What tool are you using to know what space is or not free?
The memory card where you flash the ROM has some partitions: /boot, /recovery, /system, /cache, /data, /sdcard, /misc
The system partition could be 1GB (but... I think is too much) and basically contains the entire operating system. The data partition contains the user’s data and the sdcard is not exactly a partition. In terms of usage, this is your storage space.
I'm not sure that you format the entire memory card... I've just read a guide to Android partitions yesterday and other about ClockWorkMod Recovery and how to use it. They are complete and good. I would like to share them with you:

Hello omkar,
I'm sorry, but I'm not using the same phone model than you. If you're following a XDA thread to install cm9, it should be work.
I had a similar problem (it got freeze after flashing). I'm not sure what didn't work of the tutorial that I followed. So I decided to update the cwm recovery version and try with other CM. I followed the steps and I also formated the /system partition to make a "clean" installation of the CM. Finally it worked.
:good:
