Yep, maybe it's the same!
Mi sa che è andata proprio così!
I have used ICS since December and I am not sure the A500 can handle ICS. You may have to dump some apks to keep it running. That's what I have had to do. Just make sure you root the OS after getting the update to dump some embedded apks.

i believe you are quite Incorrect about Devices Designed to run honeycomb. I C S. has added a whole new hardware acceleration UI . Render script. that will take advantage of the Memory and graphics capable cpu . This memory and processing power is currently only available to games not the Android UI Or browser. This is the issue with Honeycomb.. I C S . and its hardware acceleration will PROVIDE A much needed performance boost on honey comb devices. with much better memory usage . IN Short it will run faster .And is less demanding then the current honeycomb os.. As far as some older single core devices what you say is likely to be true.. but does not apply to Honeycomb dual core tablets..
Look up the advantages of I C S over honeycomb . you will see this is all over the internet..
Hope this helps you clear up your misconceptions about this new update Honey comb should have never been released. it was very bad code and not ready for large screen devices..

Comparing ICS vs HC would be like comparing Windows Vista vs Windows 7. Altough it might be exaggerated, I would say it is kind of the same thing. As Erica said, ICS is just more efficient than HC, as it takes advantages of multi-core processors to a higher level.
But I agree on the apk dumping. Upgrades are kind of a ***** in that department. Also, a full reset of the tablet may be necessary for it to work like it is supposed to. I had to do that to my phone when it was upgraded from 2.1 to 2.2, and I expect the same with HC->ICS. I hope I'm wrong though.

I'm running ICS right now, and let me tell you, it blows HC out of the water. There is absolutely NO REASON why the A500 will have any problems running it. Maybe you did something wrong, or you were using a very early build.

hey guys
im thinking of possibly buying the vega but wanted to know if theres any chance of it getting honeycomb?
The Froyo build on the Vega is AOSP (slightly modified) using the Nvidia reference libs. So until Honeycomb hits AOSP even the OEM doesn't know how it will work. When they do know they will tell the rebadgers (POV/Advent/etc) and then we may find out.
Unofficially we'll probably know shortly after Honeycomb drops in AOSP because we'll try to get a build running.
I have been holding off myself as it doesnt look to be running that great even on the cooked ROMS. I have been stung before waiting for a ROM upgrade or fix that never came. Not going to buy this until it gets a decent honey rom.
Well, mine runs great. Bang for buck, im super happy.
Performance is good n fast, and it does what i need it to do. Not sure where you got the idea it doesnt run well.
Id love to see honeycombe etc, but if they dont appear for the vega, ill still be happy with it.
Dont be off put due to lack of a particular rom

Then save your cash for another tablet. You know the old tale of buying a device for what it is supposed to be able to do in the future and not for what it does now? It tends to have sad endings

It runs just perfectly fine on the default roms and addons imo. It should be able to run honeycomb and I think it will in time... but there are no guarantees.
It's a fine device as it is now already though.
I've been playing around now for a day with my Vega. A very good device for it's budget!
getting honeycomb would be the ultimate treat for this sweet tablet
Let's just hope for now..

Here is a link to the ics update for the motorola xoom.

And you owe me personally, about well, a lot of beers. And not just any beer mind you, but I like really expensive beer
In fact, if one would calculate 12 beers per day @.5L per beer since the time he got HW Accel working, No green screens, and 85% of all functions working, you owe me about 457 beers, give or take. But I'm not greedy. I'll settle for an even 400 x.5L.
The Pure ICS rom 4.x, runs damn good. Only 3 or 4 things left. Most people are using it as a daily driver.
But now, "Iced" cube, if you don't come through with your wager, on open terms as you set, Well... that would be considered "welching" on a bet.
Welp, there goes my weekly wage...
I did say "a beer", not "a few beers"
'tis all good, i'll drop some money in the tin.
That aside.... Time to flash the ROM, then!

Youre flashing a xoom rom? That might be the problem. There is an ics build mostly functional for our device a few pages in to the dev forum (where we are) or you can google thor and try his which afaik is just lacking camera and rotation lock.
Which ICS rom is everyone running?

Any links to this? I cannot find anything out this. I wish they would just release a beta or something so that some of us can start cracking out the bugs, very annoying.
The gingerbread version works quite well but clearly is having problems without the hardware acceleration.
Broadcom, have a ICS version with hardware acceleration announced back in July:
http://www.raspberrypi.org/archives/1700
Unfortunately, they've not released anything yet which is a big shame, particularly since the Rev2 boards are packing a 512Mb bit of RAM.
Hopefully they will update us on it!
Also, allowing the GB image to make use of the Rev2.0 512Mb RAM would help a little too.
Here ya go, they put all the source out.

Hi guys,
As some of you know I am am/was working on CM10 for the people on the JB bootloader. I have gotten as far as finally booting past the Asus logo to a blank screen w/ backlight and ADB shell (which is a great start).
I've all but given up on this so I reached out to XpLoDWilD and offered him a donation. Then I thought back to the CM10 thread where several people offered to throw in some dough to get a working kernel so that we can finally use ROMS such as CM10, AOSP, AOKP, Paranoid Android, and so on.
He of course was excited but is in the middle of 2 classes of college (or university depending where you are from).
I'm going to throw in $20 for now because I know how important this is. I now know what the problem is and I don't want to fix it properly but he can. If you can chip in, write a total in the thread and I'll count it up periodically and add it to the pot.
Cheers!

When you post a new CM10 thread for the JB bootloader could you please specify in the OP which bootloader the rom works with?
It would be nice if you could do the same for your existing CM10 thread. I see daily posts about soft bricked units also whether this is for ICS or JB. I know half of those would post the same thing with proper info provided but you would save some. Also we could then suggest they read the first post in the thread for info about the rom and the proper bootloader.
Now I have that off my chest, are we to use your donate link or will there be a link provided for donations?
Thanks for listening and for taking the challenge so readily!

Wow, I didn't think so much users would actually request this. I'm pushing this at the highest priority I can. I'll keep you tuned on this thread about the port status :
CM10 Status for JB Bootloader/JB Kernel/JB Blobs (3.1.10 kernel with Asus JB blobs):
WiFi: KO
Bluetooth: OK
HW acceleration: OK
Dock: OK
Camera: OK
Video recording: KO
Audio: OK
Video playback: Untested yet
GPS: Untested yet
Sensors: KO
I'll update this list as I progress.
Update 10/18 8:05PM GMT+2: Camera works, video recording dead for now. I'm a bit stuck because of Wi-Fi issues, should go faster once I've sorted them out.

I told you man
If you want to give me the kernel I'll start debugging and helping out. Just a suggestion.
+10
Is the tf700 having same bootloader issues as us? Could've sworn I saw a rom saying full wipe from ics or Jb.
Come on everyone you know you want this to succeed. The only way that is possible is if everyone shows their support. Give any amount you are comfortable giving. If you are not comfortable with your name being shown give timmytim (OP) a private message and I'm sure that can be arranged. If you can't give I understand but you can throw some thanks in the proper directions. (not to me) Please show your support.
Speaking of the timmytim, thanks and more are due for putting this together!
Thanks for your consideration.
The "io bug", that makes TF300T very slow with stock ROM, is present also in cm10?
If it is, I'll donate $10 too if the bug get solved and cm10 fly as the super fast Rom im using now!
If cm10 already has it solved, I'm just waiting the jb bootloader to donate.

I really love CM. I use it on all my other devices. Unfortunately I upgraded to JB and therefor I am not able to use CM10 on my TF300T. I will happily donate $10 to get CM10 running on my TF300T

If you want to donate but remain anonymous please PM me and I'll add the $$ to the growing pot.
I've chatted with XpLoD and he is making great strides on this already

I cant speak for the bug but I am a little confused about your donation comment. Are you or aren't you contributing $10?

considerung the minimum hardware specs they suggest, our ram could get a bit tight ^^ but otherwise .. i'm sure there will be some badass developers who can get it running on our good old transformer
There's already tons of ports for Ubuntu since they have an official arm release. I'm running 12.04 right now (see sig) and the only problem is random freezes, which I'm too lazy to troubleshoot.

So far it seems to only be available for the Nexus tablets.
Given the somewhat weak ROM support for the TF101 I'm not really going to dare hoping for anything.
Right now we barely have a CM10.1 port going, which for most devices is taken for granted.
So yeah.

You gotta have faith! How about team EOS 4's beautiful ROM? seems like it's about as advanced a ROM as there could be... i'm running 4.2.2 VERY smoothly with their help. Thanks to ALL of the developers
They've released a statement that if there's a CM 10 release for your device, you can port Ubuntu Touch to it. As far as I know, there is no stable build of CM 10 for the TF101, but there are some unoffical ports. If we could get the guys working on the unofficial ports to look at porting Ubuntu Touch over, we might get it.

Lol
Over on my one v im getting threads like this. That phone has a single core cpu at 1ghz and 512mb ram. I think if we can run regular linux we can run this. We just have to port it
Porting Ubuntu Touch is as Simple as Building CM... Really?
I think that porting CM 10.1 for Rayman and Team EOS it's being a hard work but, as we have a stable (more or less) build of CM 10.1, Do you guys think that porting will be simple? I'm right now trying to make a dual boot of Ubuntu Phone OS and Android OS for GNex but I can help porting it to our old Transformer... Anyone who can help me?
PD: Where are you Raiman? We miss you...
Sv: Ubuntu for tablets
Well Ubuntu Touch is out for tablets too - answer to the first post.
Also, I might try to port it later tonight.
I'm sure it can be done.

I'm midway through the compile process for our beloved transformers and will hopefully be able to get a file up in the next couple days for you guys to try out
If I hosting is a showstopper for anyone, I can help out there. PM me is you want me to hand out a nexfiles FTP account for Ubuntu-purposes.
I've already served 300GB (in 2-3 hours no less!) of Ubuntu-DLs from that host already, so can't hurt to add some Transformer-love as well
