Have you tried clean installing and not running the dats2sd script?
Mhm.. i can try this.
But i like data2sd... 2gb internal memory
I will try not to use data2sd and do a clean install with a 5/180MB partition for rom...
I will report the results
Hello all,
I have a problem with my Defy
I was running on my defy red lens MSGinger 2.1.
Everithing was running good, photo, gps, radio ....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1140839
I didn't flash any SBF (Step 15 . Flash the FixedSBF now (pull battery --> go to bootoloader VOLUP+Power, flash /defy/fixed-sbf via RSD-lite) )
One day, my phone start and start again randomly. I tried to remove sd card, phone card without any succes. I didn't change cpu setting exect that I change it to 800Mhz max to avoid temperature when using gps/3g with battery in charge.
1. Then I flash back my nandroid of official 2.2.2 but it doesn't boot: the screen stay black (with devtree/boot)
2. Then I flahs back an old CM7 nandroid of mine with the same result
3. Then I flash a CM7 (the only bootsea nightly from epsylon3). The phone boot but I have big wifi problem with CM7
4. Then I flash back my nandroid of official 2.2.2 without any succes
5. Then I flash a CM7 (the only bootsea nightly from epsylon3). The phone boot but I still have big wifi problem with CM7
Shall I flash the SBF in step 15 to avoid this black screen ? I didn't understand what was the fixedSBF and which one to flash.
Shall I try to flash the official 2.2.2 sbf ? If I do that I won't have anymore clockworkmod to reflash CM7.
Thanks for any help/comment/message

I would guess the camera driver could be bad. And if this is a stock (non rooted) tab, doing a factory reset will only re-load the same corrupted driver.
If you're rooted, and have installed a custom CWM recovery, you could try re-flashing a different ROM.
It also could be a bad camera (hardware)
Regardless, you'll need to return it for repair to Acer, if a custom rom doesn't fix it, or you don't wish to root and rom.
Thinking of trying CM9 on my defy ^^
My specs - Defy - red lense - running Wajk's ICS/GB Hybrid...
Stock was Froyo 2.2.x
Files I have for CM9 -
*CM7_Kernel-signed.zip
*CM9-NIGHTLY-120406-Defy.zip
*gapps-ics-20120317-signed.zip
From what I've read I can't go from Wajk's Hybrid ICS/GB rom to this...
Figure I'd just restore my stock 2.2.x nandroid before the CM9 install...
Q's:
1. How can I back up my current kernel (2.2.x) for future use, if I want to get back to my other custom nandroids? (do I even need to back up my kernel??)
2. & if I want to return to MIUI -=or=- ICS/GB Hybrid - what steps would I need to follow?
PS - I have the following stock sbf's if I need them...
are they suitable for Plan-B?
*JRDNEM_U3_3.4.2_177-003_BLUR
*JRDNEM_U3_3.4.3-33-1
*JRDNEM_U3_3.4.3-36-1
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
The release keys in the SBF names are hurting my eyes.
The kernel consists of boot.img, devtree.img and recovery.img
Just do a full backup and you can do advance restore and do boot devtree and recovery manually.
Sent from my MB525 using XDA
Just installed as per any other rom ^^
Working fine...
tried to change governor from on demand to smart ass via recovery... Caused b/l stuck mode!
If & when it gets themes & fixed video camera it will be a keeper.

What are benefits/ pitfalls of using CM7 kernel?
TIA

Tried the CM7 kernel... plus other CM7 based boot & dev trees via advanced recovery, they make video record worse! Screen is all rippled like still water that has had a pebble dropped in it, video capture then locks up just like before. Otherwise no notable differences...

Red LED means 2nd boot.
And update to latest ROM then flash the latest kernel(low size ROM given).
And not sure about battery fix.
I'm experiencing suddem drop from 43% to 20%.. I heard no need, so I haven't. Waiting for a senior to reply.
And the latest update, 1024 kernel is awesome! So freaking fast!
Cheers

First your question about battery fix - no, as you have defy plus, no need to flash.
2nd boot builds are much faster as they have custom kernel for our defies.
And they are worth to try.
The best way to do it is starting from your parent sbf, though you can also do it from 24/09 build.
First make a nandroid backup of your current system and data - if something goes wrong, you will be able to go back with a backup.
As you have defy + you can have BL7 - in this case just check this OP for some BL7 kernel incompatibility and a workaround
To flash it you just proceed in a similar way as in case of 2ndinit builds from CWM.
The points are:
- wipe data (option but good to do it when changing for the first time)
- wipe cache and dalvik
- flash system (at the moment 18/10 build and today's update) and jb gapps (10/11 build the newest) - kernel is built in the ROM
- wipe dalvik and cache again
- reboot
If you have bootloops then go to CWM again pressing vol- when blue LED on and wipe cache and dalvik again - don't know why, but happened to me several times as I'm changing a lot
When 2ndboot build is on, the after blue LED you see red LED - before you saw green when booting from 2ndinit
You can go to bootmenu and lower your vsels (I use 17, 32, 42, 52). Don't change other settings and the governor.
And you will see the difference between 24/09 build and today's one
