Can Samsung detect that the device had been flashed? - Galaxy Tab 7.7 General

I'm about to send my device to the service center to the screen replace. I've rooted mine and if I flash with stock firmware to return the device to stock, will Samsung be able to detect and not honor my claim?

You should be fine. I've done the same with devices I've owned in the past and IF the manufacturer checks they will only see a stock install. Make sure you remove the uSD though.

Don't worry, Samsung honored my claims on the original tab when it got bricked eventhough it had Overcome ROM on it !

Samsung repair centres in the Uk and super hard brick, revive by USB JIG?

Does anyone know a website for official repair centres or locations in the Uk?
Also...I think I have a super hard brick as my phone is not responding to anything, PC can't detect it. Does that mean Sunsung won't know if I have flashed a custom rom and how many times?
Is it possible to revive via a USB jig and how?
Thanks.

Guess its possible if the connection drops in the middle of an installation and you`re stuck when the download might not be complete or corrupt, especialy when going from GB to ICS.

First register if you don't already have an account and request for repair. You will have the option to take it to a repair centre near you or send it to them for repair. I bricked mine when i flashed ICS, Binary count was zero but i had CMW installed. My phone was repaired free with no issues. I would advise you to just send it to them if your binary count has not increased. You will need to wait 2 weeks for repair though.
I was referring to the story I will tell Carphone Warehouse and Sunsung, I can't exactly go and tell then I flashed a custom rom that I made, they'll probably try and con me for begin so stupid for what I did.

Thanks for the advice, i've been flashing for ages now and never a problem, this is the first time I have ever bricked.
Btw...will they know my binary count with a hard brick?
I'm going to make a trip to Maplins tomorrow to buy a resistor and a connector to make a quick USB JIG before I send it off, sending it off is a last resort.
Pm me if you need any help sending it off and I will see what I can with regards a repair.

I had a superbrick, where the phone wouldn't even switch on (Also my first brick even though i've been doing it for years). So I couldn't reset any binary counters or restore any firmware to hide what i'd done. It was as it was, and I sent it off to Samsung and they replaced the motherboard FOC for me
USB JIG was no use. You may as well make yourself a JIG for future reference, but I think in this instance, it might be a waste of time.
All I said was, that I restarted the phone and after that it wouldn't switch on again - That was it. They replaced the motherboard for me

I doubt they will know if the phone does not turn on at all but if you can get to download mode so can they. And they will know your binary count from there. I have also been flashing for ages and this is my first time as well bricking a phone. It doesn't feel good at all.
I've went through the service centre and it needs to be sent off to Glasgow in Scotland, is it not possible to deliver it to a closer repair centre?

Solution. ATT Galaxy S4 I-337 MF3 Recovery Solution.

SO i was a fooled and i tried to flash my MF3 S4 with TRWP. Make a long story short my phone was soft bricked. I was unable to go into recovery mode, only Odin mode. So after reading a bunch of posts and thinking that my phone was bricked until samsung released official MF3 recovery image , i gave up. My friend at best buy called me and said that they now have "Samsung Experience Centers and they can Flash your phone to factory stock. I called Samsung and verified. i immediately brought the phone over and after explaining that "Kies" Ruined my phone they were able to flash my phone now it is working. I will go into more detail soon. But those who were in my situation, rest assured there is a solution now.

So how is it?
Yes it was the MF3 the latest att over the air update. I used Loki to root and that worked. Then I used "Goo manager to install clock work/TWRP and that's when I got stuck in Odin mode. I was no longer able to go into recovery mode.

Dude, don't try to flash a custom recovery. You're only going to be able to go back to best buy so many times before they catch on.

It would be great if you could check with your friend at Best Buy and see if he has any details about how the MF3 firmware is being flashed.
I will ask my friend if he can get more details and possible pictures. From what I know special "Tools" where provided by by Samsung. Initially the Best Buy rep that flashed my phone did not know what to do he then called Samsung technical support and they were able to remote control his PC and finish the flash. I wasn't able to see the program he was using as I was behind the PC screen and could not get around.

Its called "Samsung Smart" its what the att store uses I got the guy to tell me what it was. He said that samsung reps came in and installed the software on all of there computers. I hope we can get someone who works there to throw the software on a usb stick. It needs to be leaked. I am soooooo pissed off right now because I just got a new one from the device support center yesterday and it came with mdl on it. Then the damn thing updated itself within 24hrs. It downloaded it and installed it without my consent. Im going to brick it on purpose and take it back to the att device support center and they will probably try and reflash it but it wont work cause all they have is the samsung smart exe program with the mdl fimware and im sure its nkt going to downgrade it so they will end up giving me a new phone again and hopefully it will have mdl on it first thing in the morning.
Struck out at my nearest Best Buy this evening. The guy at the Samsung counter didn't seem to know much about them, he did plug it in but never launched any applications to try and reflash it all he was using was a laptop and stock USB cable. There are several other stores in my area (Houston TX) I'll run out tomorrow and try my luck again. I'll report back on any applications they use and will pick their brains for info if I'm successful getting it restored to stock. To be continued.......

New Note 3

I just got my Note 3 and the first thing I did was root it. The problem is that I forgot to perform a software update. Now when I try to update the software, I get the message that I can't update because my phone is modified. Is there a way to download and manually install the latest software update?
This should be in Q&A....mods will either delete it or move it for you.
To answer you...depending on your region the stock firmware may or may not be available for you to odin back to stock.

use triangle away to restore official status. Then update and reroot (from what i heared, ony the international N3 had a firmware update) Usually, if there was one for you, as soon as you would have connected to the internet it would have told you, unless you rooted without first connecting the phone to the internet

Is Asus collecting Serial Numbers when ulocking bootloader with their tool?

As above. I want to send my unit for warranty fix. It has problems with hardware. 3.5 mm jack is cutting audio from right channel. I want to relock bootloader and flash stock firmware.
No I think because I unlocked my bootloader with their tool too. Then I relocked it, flash the stock firmware and I asked customer service about my warranty and they said I still have it.

If you are fully stock, unrooted. Clean flash. And the problem still persists. You could try a custom rom. See if the problem is still there. If it is. Go back to stock unrooted and claim your warranty.

Your bootloader is locked. So that would mean you can't get a custom rom. You could however go back to a previous version of stock firmware. Install that one. And see upon setup if the fingerprint my works when setting up the lock screen. If it doesn't respond it's probably a hardware fault.

If Knox has not been tripped. So of it says 0x0 instead of 0x1. And you are in your warranty period. Then you should do a clean install. Totally clean. Just to be sure. Remove the SD card. And try again. If it still says failed. Then I should contact the retail store where you got it. If device says faulty finger print sensor I would get it fixed. u bought a expensive phone. It should work. An error is en error for a reason.
