Kindle Question

Has anyone discovered a way to add non amazon bought mobi books on the omnia7 via the kindle app. Would rather use 1 phone for all reading instead of having to use 2.

Comics by Comixology™ app?

I've managed to get my Fire into a very odd state where I cannot register it. Amazon will be sending me a replacement. I can semi-use it for apps and music by logging into those apps separately. But I can't for books and videos. Now when I go to look at comics it seems the comixology app is gone too. Can a kind sole grab it from wherever it is and post it here or tell me the name of it and where it exists in the fire ROM dumps that have already been posted?
I should add that its similar to but not the same as the Android Market comics by Comixology™ app.

[Q] Add MOBI Book to Kindle App?

Is there a way to add a MOBI book the Kindle for Windows 8 app? I tried looking through the installation files in the %appdata% folders, but I didn't see any .mobi books, so I wasn't sure where I would put it.
Nobody has found one yet. It's sad; the Kindle app for WinRT is by far the worst I've seen yet; even the one on WP7 allowed sideloading books if you could put them in the right place in the filesystem.

Weird. You'd think Amazon would just integrate with the File Picker, why not? The Kindle app for Windows RT actually looks nice, but there's just a bunch of issues that need resolved (weird space limitation, no transition between page turns, store doesn't work for me at all, can't side load books, even hunting through the file system...). It's too bad. Thanks for the help.
Does anyone know if this is possible now? I have acer iconia w510 and I want to add some mobi books I have stored on the kindle app but I cant find a way to do it
Perhaps you might want to give the "freda" app a try. I use it to read my "mobi" files.

rooted nook ST & kindle app issue

Hello Everyone.
I am hoping someone can knock some sense in to me!
Im having some issues with my rooted nook and the kindle App.
Basically i have a ton of Kindle books from my old kindle (before the wife trod on the screen and killed it) that i want to read on my nook.
I was under the impression that if i rooted my Nook Simple touch and installed the Kindle App on to the device i would be able to read these files.
Unfortunately i seem to have no luck at all.
Could some one please help as im getting withdrawal symptoms from the book and the added issue that i now have to converse with the wife!
almost 100 views and no help. surely I cant be the only one with this issue?
What version Kindle App are you trying to use? As the ST is running an old Android version 2.1 then you have to use an old Kindle App. I think Kindle_3.0.1.70.apk is the right one.
I found the Kindle app that worked on the NSTs to be very limited. I prefer to convert Kindle books to epub using Calibre so I can use them with most any reader, dealing with DRM as needed to complete the process.

thanks for your input chaps.
this calibre software.. can it do bulk file conversions or would I have to wade through all my books one by one?
Yes, but you'll probably want to do some checking that the conversion has worked correctly, especially for any PDFs that you (try to) convert.
Calibre conversion is also my preferred technique as I use it to provide backups anyway. I just keep the old Kindle App on there as well in case I am away from my base station and access to the Calibre library.
Bulk conversion is very reliable I found and for regular Kindle books works well. Obviously you want to try one out to make sure you have the method right. You will need the Kindle DRM plug-ins for Calibre to do the conversion when uploading from Kindle but the translation back to ePub when downloading to the Nook is automatic.

"Word Wise" Kindle app android

I have a kindle fire HD8 (7th) device and I downloaded a book which has "Word Wise" enabled from amazon store and the feature works for the book as it's supposed to.
But when I copied the exact same file to my android device
..\Kindle Device\Documents
then I open the book from my kindle app, I could read the book but "word wise" for the book is not working, format file is .azw3, this book buy from amazon.
I tried downloading the same book in sample version from the store and the word wise feature works properly, i copy this file to kindle ppw4 is working but kindle fire hd8 is don't work.
Is there a trick to get word wise to work on sideloaded books?
Thank in advance!
