charging issue - Galaxy Tab 10.1 General

Hey guys,
I have a GT-P7510 flashed with an ICS from. All was well up until about a week ago, but now it won't charge past 20% ish. Googled like a mad man for the past few hours with no luck :-(
Any help or suggestions much appreciated
Regards
Ross

Could be many things. Best/fastest fix would be to download the ROM again, do a COMPLETE wipe and flash again.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium

Also, if you are still experiencing the same problems after wiping and re-flashing, try using ODIN to go back to stock. That way, at least you'll know for sure whether it was your kernel, rom, or if it actually was the battery. Good luck.

Eb 13 /cwm3/ext4 rom install issues

Hello all.
I have tried to load two custom roms that are on eb13 with ext4. I had some small hurdles which I found answers to...but had the same net result on both.
The las5t one I tried was the frozen rom.
When it is complete all seems fine and it boots to the os. When. I hit settings or applications, it starts this strange vibration pattern and then reboots without displaying the selected menu.
If this was posted.. I did not find it. Any guidence would be appreicated and sorry for any bother. My goal is to research and go at it again next week.
I did follow the whiping instructions and in both cases I went to stock 2.1 then used odin to go to eb13. Base eb13 seems stable. In eb13 I convert to ext4 using cwm3.
From trial, I then flashed acs frozen(wipex3 and so on). On reboot the issue occurs. I did not install any apps or data which was backed up.

This is a know issue on both of these ROMs. You simply have to reflash the ROM when this occurs. It only seems to happen on a fresh ext4 conversion.
Thanks for the prompt reply. I may give it a try when I don't need the precious battery life.
Thanks again.

I had problems too from fresh eb13>cwm3>wipe 3x>flash frozenRom. At that point I was stuck in boot with bootscreens fighting eachother. So I wiped 3x again flashed frozen again now its all good.
So try wipe 3x and flash again see if that fixes you too.

nope, count me in. new math maybe? lol
Sorry for the confusion. I chewed 10% in reapplying the rom and such of my battery....leaving me with63% bat life left.
I should also note that after applying the rom it hugh at (the equiv of) the galaxy s screen for so long. After about 5 min I force rebooted and it came back fine.
Not to cross topics.... after flashing frozen (killer rom btw) I can't find my google searchbar widget to re-enable. I didn't think this would be part of the purged bloatware.
Any ideas how this happened and how I can gvet it back? Restore of app widgets via titanium didn't do it. Tried searching but haven't mastered the art in the xda app. Results include the hone book. I am on the road....so I can't hit a puter

Never mind. Appears to be a known issue related to the search buttoon not working . Thanks

[INFO] Reduce / Eliminate FCs (and perhaps reboots)

For those of you who are having FC's or reboot problems, I recommend trying this (on all roms):
clear cache / DC 3x
flash the rom form the sd card
immediately flash the rom again
Do all of this without rebooting. What ive noticed a LOT is that I often get curious issues with roms, and then I flash them again and dont get those issues anymore (--or, I get a different set of curious issues). Since i do everything else the same, it seems that it must have been the flash that was problematic. just as we have grown accustomed to wipe data multiple times to ensure a successful clear, we should also become accustomed to flashing (especially for larger files more prone to exhibiting problems) multiple times to ensure a clean and successful write.
I know there was a GB ram leakage problem with EG22/EH06 which was causing reboots, but even with these roms you shouldnt be experiencing FC's right out of the box. A lot of people have claimed to run EH17 without any reboots (or FCs) so you too should be able to experience it. Good luck all.
PS - If you have Journaling OFF, make sure your phone doesn't die due to lack of power! Keep it charged. Four times so far I've been thrown into the chaos of "The application Google services Framework has stopped unexpectedly," due to letting un-journaled phones die. Now, I just keep it on for data safety / integrity.
First. Good tip.
you'll probably get flamed for posting this in development though.

I brought the lighters, let's getm,,,,, oh, well damn, good tip man.
You know I have never had to flash anything twice and things go pretty well with my flashes for the most part but I do one thing that isn't usually mentioned. After I do all the wipes 3x (data cache dalvik) I go into mounts and storage and I format data cache and system. The data and cache obviously have already been formatted but none of the wipes ever touch system. The ROM script must do that I guess, but I figure why not play it safe and personally clean all the file systems... Works for me.

this is what i did after seeingit in a post and mines is runnign goood so far ...question how do u know if journaling is on or off
great tip.. im about to try it RIGHT NOW.. I have wiped and reinstalled roms for the past 2 days now.. because I keep getting reboots and force closes.. even before I try to install any new apps.. im now on a rooted stock deodexed EG22.. that I just flashed about 2 hours ago.. I will now try a custom rom and fash twice and see how it works out for me..
This sounded interesting so I broke my vow not to flash gingerbread again until it was released. I decided to do everything differently than I had in all the previous installs and follow the OPs directions. I'm running EC05 rooted with CWM, so I downloaded the stock odex EH17 zip, followed the clearing suggestions in this post, and flashed EH17 in CWM. Flashed it twice as suggested. Flashed SU, and rebooted.
Long story short, after about 90 minutes it rebooted on its own.
Glad I made a nandroid backup before I started this, because I'm back on stock EC05 rooted again.
all gb roms will have fc's; this is just a procedure to make sure that the fc's you Do experience are caused by errors in the rom's programming as opposed to flashing errors =]
i too am on rking's ec05

I can also assure everyone, turning your head to the right, while flashing, improves the data connection speeds with any GB modem.

I had great success with EH17 using the Tegrak config along with the EH17Plus Kernel. Also, I found that the only time I did get a reboot was when I was using the hotspot or wireless tether. But it only happened when the phone got hot and was NOT on the charger. No reboots at all when tethering if I had the phone plugged into the charger, or during any other usage. I recently went back to EC05 to use the SRF1.2 ROM. EH17's modem was a lot faster too, imo. Going back when more ROMs become available.
Also, I tried Hurricane but got fc's. I'll try it again with the doube flash. I liked it otherwise. Now that I think about it, I was flashing modems and started getting fc's on SRF1.2. But none after I flashed it again (double). So this may be the trick if you're having fc's.

Guys help Battery Not charging!!!!!!!!!!!

Guys i know nemesis is banned on xda but still i need immediate help.
Guys yesterday i downloaded and flashed Nemesis V2 on my phone then it was working fine it was on stock kernal after that i put my phone on charge and went to sleep when i wake up i saw the phone has not charged a bit rather it has decreased to 17%.
I thought it is a kernel problem and flashed percy gnu#10. But then also the problem persisted rather it was worsened then i switched off the device and put it to charge and it worked well. I tried flashing stock rom via odin but the problem remains same. Guys plz help asap.
DO NOT mention the name of banned roms in xda. BTW, i think it is caused by:
1. Battery itself
2. Internal Hardware
3. Charger adapter

Might be hard ware problems,
But you could try deleting battery stats in CWM in might help.
install stock rom twice
or maybe you charge it in electric shutdown lol:silly:
Hardware error for sure, get another charger or get your phones's charging slot tested.

Look at your charging slot and charger plug.
Maybe it has dust or something in.
Had the same issue few weeks ago, i had some tomato sauce in there, dont ask, i dont know
Anyway i solved this special kind of brick with a simple toothpick and cleaned everything.
Thnx guys changing the charger helped me out.

[Q] Canadian Variant [SM-N900W8] Stuck In Boot Loop!

I've been reading through other threads here on XDA about a common boot loop issue that N900T users are experiencing, but nowhere was it mentioned that the Canadian variant users had a similar problem, but I do.
I was wondering if there were any other SM-N90028 users out there that were stuck in a boot loop?
Here is my situation:
I have a Canadian SM-N900W8 (it is, also a Qualcomm LTE version) and I'm in a boot loop... it all started when I tried to restore a Stock-Rooted Rom with TWRP.
I can't, however get it out, and I've tried all of the versions of TWRP, I've also used odin like 30 times... nothing.
I successfully restored a Rooted stock ROM through TWRP, but it wasn't until I re-installed a factory un-rooted one that things got ugly..
So I was thinking about this and perhaps the cause of this is KNOX... since the first thing I did when I rooted my phone initially was uninstall KNOX and all of its files. I know these didn't carry over when I did a TWRP backup, which is perhaps why my restore of that backup worked the first time. The second time, I just went and downloaded everything stock and used Odin, and that's when the bootloop occurred.
if anyone knows of a way to solve this, I'd be forever grateful!
I really hope I will be able to fix this...
Not to sound.to xdaish...but dude seriously this topic.is all.over the n3 forums. Have a.look and you will find tons of info.
Also...good idea to.read prior to flashing..if you had you would have know not to restore with twrp since it causes bootloops.
Just trying to you some friendly advice.

Thank you, but I've read them all and most are regarding the n900t, I felt it appropriate to ask about the n900w8 variant.
Also, I know that would have been better, but it's too late for that now. I just thought I'd share my experiences here with this issue so that others will know better.
So I tried a different stock ROM, and with the latest version of Odin, but it still is in a boot loop.
However there is one difference; this time it will boot past the Samsung logo and into android, but then a window will pop up saying "Process system isn't responding" and ask me to wait for it to respond or close it. Regardless of what I select, it will end up rebooting seconds later.
In the very short time that everything stays booted for, I can access the two pull-down menus from the top, but selecting anything will yield me no results.
Perhaps this can tell us more about this issue?

Help please

So I was trying to help a friend flash stock using Odin because his phone app was being a piece of crap, he was on a CM 11 nightly and, well, long story short I almost bricked his phone not knowing there is a limit on how many times you can flash a Samsung device using Odin because of the yellow triangle. I can't use triangle away because it's the CM ROM on a CM kernel, I was able to get rid of the softbrick by using a older CM ROM on his SD card, this wouldn't be a problem if his phone app was still working, his WiFi was working and if his sound was working, but it's not. So to recap and for the question, Samsung is stupid, and can anyone help?
Thanks in advanced

First thing you have to do for anyone to help you is,provide which build you were on and which stock rom you were trying to flash. There are tons of people here with great knowledge if you can be real specific.

Fairly sure there is no limit to the amount of times you can flash using Odin. There is a counter but no limit

Sorry, Samsung isn't stupid or they wouldn't just magically be a $250+billion dollar company that has been around for 76 years.
Because you jumped in and were unsuccessful with what you were doing doesn't constitute failure on their part.
How about taking that phone - S4 back to bone stock. ALL the answers on how to do that are here. In fact in the last couple days I've personally given instructions on how to do that for a number of people here in the help section. Do some searching and reading and you'll find your answers.
It always helps to come to a manufacture's section and say how sh**y they are. Makes those of us who choose to use and support them feel ever so helpful.
Ok sorry should've been more specific, I'm not new to these forums I was just in a hurry, also seriously guys I'm just frustrated I know Samsung is not stupid you don't have to post their history, they're awesome it's just dumb that they have a limit, and yes if you install the latest stock Sprint update (the one I did before I rooted and rom'd his phone) there wouldn't be a thing such as triangle away. Anyway on Odin it says it passed when flashing stock (the firmware that comes with the phone) but it does it in 4 seconds, and when his phone boots up and it just restores CM, so far everything we've tried either softbricks it or restores CM. Is there anything that completely and I mean completely restores this phone

There is no limit, as mentioned already, with Odin.
I've used it probably a hundred times since I got my S4. I know others have used it more.
Take some time, look through the Q&A/help forum and you'll see some posts I've helped others with, in the last 24hours alone, on how to get back to stock.

Glad you got it working and THANK YOU for posting back - that is what helps the community.
I understand the panic too. Especially when things are f'd up.
But if there is one valuable lesson I've learned in my half century of life; if you can just pause, relax and step back, many problems are easily resolved. And better yet more avoided by haste.
Good luck with the new phone setup.

You can first boot to stock recovery (power on + volume up) and choose a 'factory reset'. That often clears stuff up pretty well
Or
Try and PC Oding a stock MK2 kernel. Then battery pull and restart after. Saw this on a few phones
I'll have to search to find it but it's here somewhere.
