Stock KF apps? - Kindle Fire General

Is there any way to get the stock books and music apps from the stock KF firmware to use on cm7?

Sure, if you used Titanium backup prior to flashing cm7 you should be able to do a restore of the Books, MP3, Video and Store apps.

Backing up Cyanogenmod, apps, adw shortcuts etc full process

This may have been asked before in stages but a thread stating the full process would be nice.
I am using Cyanogenmod 6.1 (nightly) on my wildfire. It works nice apart from the video recorder and the wifi which has an issue of freezing streaming of video after 5 minutes.
Before putting on Cyanogen I backed up my original ROM to nandroid and also a copy of my sd card to pc. Since then I've got my phone setup nicely with a lot of apps free and paid and ADW launcher customised.
The thing is I'd like to try one of the other custom roms and would like to do a full backup of everything. I'm a little unsure of the apps required and whether a restore will get my phone back to the exact state it is now with full customisation of ADW and all my shortcuts on seperate screens etc including some custom icons using pictures on sd card.
Download Titanium Backup from the Marketplace.
When you start it up, hit Menu and then Batch. Scroll down to Backup all system and app data, or something along those lines.
Once you reflash, download Titanium Backup again and hit Menu, Batch, Restore all apps and data.
If you just want to try out other rom, then a nandroid backup is for you. Think of it like a image capturing all your settings, apps and rom.
As for transfering apps, then you will need Titanium Backup.
So will the nandroid backup just backup my cyanogenmod rom with its pre-installed apps or does this include google apps as this was a seperate flash? The Titanium Backup of apps sounds good but what about my shortcuts and layouts of widgets/apps and settings using ADW launcher?
Nandroid backs up the whole thing in case you fudge up a new install. Titanium backs up your apps, data and settings.

Click to collapse
ADW launcher has a backup and restore function

Market Apps not Auto-restoring?

When going between ROM's for this tablet, my apps don't seem to be automatically restoring via the Android Market. How do I make this happen? MyBackup root, and Titanium Backup are crappy, and don't really work.
my suggestion would be finding a rom that has "googlebackuptrasnport.apk" but this is what syncs your market apps to tablet automatically tabooney2.2 does it and so does minimalist 3.2.1

[Q] Stock music and video .apks available?

I apparently deleted my amazon music and video apk's while fiddling around last night and now on my bookshelf the music/video tabs don't work. I am wondering if the stock apps are available anywhere to reinstall or if I'll just have to deal with it until I reset?
It's my own fault for not having a back up (I thought I had run a titanium backup batch). It's not a major issue, but I just like to have everything working. TYIA for any help!
Probably you need to re-flash a stock firmware, they're available in the development forum.

Need Backup App advice before updating (Unrooted)

hi, I been watching youtube videos and using google. But I cant find one that shows me if the app also "save/backup" the app location. (ex: let say I have youtube on the main page and mx player on the last) Is there a program that will restores the location setting like "Titanium Backup". I have about 75 apps and location organized.
I found these so far,
Astro File Manager
My Backup Pro
App Backup & Restore
Fast Uninstaller And Backup
AppControl
ps, I need an app to backup on a "unroot" android.
thanks
Nope, you can't back up your screen layout. Honestly 75 apps it isn't that much to setup and since you are unrooted that means you don't have widgets. The best way is to take a picture of each screen if you want to set it up the same way again. Alternatively you can think of it as a fresh start and try something new.
More than likely if you are using an unrooted nook you are going to lose more than your screen layout, as in all apps and data, if you do any kind of "restore" (factory reset is your only option).

You should really consider rooting your Nook. It's very easy, relatively harmless and safe, and allows you to do much more with your Nook. Then, you could use Titanium Backup and save all your apps/settings and restore them easily.
Unrooted, I think you just have to do it the old fashioned way of setting everything back up.
