Hello guys, first sorry for my bad english
I'm a new user, so i can't post in the dev page, so i posted here.
The projectobyte whic ports android to omnia 2 is (almost) dead: no more updates and their webpage is down, and the site where they post the archive with files is in a server which wot says is full of viruses etc...
i had the original archiv, so i ported android to omnia 2, with two O.S. mode, that mean you first boto with windows phone and then if you want you can boot android.
I made a video and in the future i will post the instructions to dev page...
Sorry for the low quality video...

Hi been looking everywhere on this site and all over the net and I cant really find any themes that fit my samsung omnia which has wqvga resolution. Can someone please help me find some as I really want some of the really good themes on this board but I dont know which ones fit wqvga.
thanks
Hello my friend :]
These are some themes specially designed for samsung omnia that
Supports Resolutions:
QVGA (240x320)
WQVGA (240x400)
VGA (480x640)
http://www.imarche.net/omnia/
===================
Installation Instructions:
-------------------------
1) If you haven't installed mobile shell before, skip to step 2.
Run UnInstall.mscr to REMOVE the previous version (this will completely remove the
'SpbMobileShellSkins' folder from your "My Storage" / "Storage Card".)
2) Extract the .zip file into the root of your desired storage location.
3) Using your device, open File Explorer and find your desired installation
location (as above). Go to 'SpbMobileShellSkins\Scripts'. In here run the
file 'Mortscipt.exe'. This will enable the other scripts to run.
4) In File Explorer, run the file "Install_WQVGA.mscr"and set your LANGUAGE.
5) You will notice 28 other scripts like Luna_Paper.mscr. Each time you run
one of these, when you go to SPBShell/Programs/Tools/SBP Skins a new skin
will become available. If you want all 28, then run all 28 scripts.
Check the website for screenshots.
6) SOFT RESET the device or run the script "ScanStatus.mscr".
Having trouble?
- If all goes wrong, or you don't like the new skins, you can revert to
the original skin by running the 'Orignal.mscr' script!
- If the link into the Spb Skins sub-menu doesn't work, CREATE IT AGAIN
tapping on the relative .mscr script from the Scripts folder.
==========================================
TIP : you can perform a system format incase something goes wrong with your omnia by switching the phone on while holding both call and end call . This will allow you to format the device and go back to initial setting like the first time you switched your omnia on.
ok thanks but how come all the people on here that are making class themes dont make em for wqvga aswell?
first: a skin for what ???
second: omnia is new and the only phone with that resolution and making a skin needs many days of work. so why should anyone do that for one percent of the users for free?
first: why are u having a go im only askin
second: the phone has been out for months and this is a place littered with wm themes so im askin if theres any for omnia and why there isnt
third: get over yaself
whats your problem ?
i just asked you for what application you want a theme/skin because you wrote nothing about it. and then i answered your question why there aren't so many out. so please dont post here anymore if you have a question or need help noob.
bad..
the first three posts and what an awful behaviour....
First while there is a wealth of WM information on this forum just remember at the end of the day this is a HTC Forum, not a Samsung Forum.
With that said, I'm a omnia user as well and I would suggest you check out some other forums like Modaco as they have a specific forum for Omnia and you will find more information you might be looking for there.
There will be some discussion on xda forum and I make it a habit to keep in touch with several forums as to broaden my knowledge base.

Hello.
I've been trying to boot android the opal by trying the vogue kernal (since it has the same specs as the opal) on the opal until i came across this. a fellow xda-dev member had some good news on android booting on the opal.
heres the original quote from him in the "LINUX BOOTS at OPAL! Thanks to linwizard project!" thread.
MusikMonk said:
I have some good news, Android can boot on the Opal. This is just a proof of concept as it's missing tons of drivers and is completely useless.
Touchscreen and all keys except for the volume control (and obviously the reset button) are not working. So you basically can't do anything when you run it.
What I tried is the same as what's written in this thread about running Android on Gene. They're using the build made for the Herald/Wing (just as I was proposing in my last post) with customized initramfs and kernel.
You'll find all the necessary details in that thread. However, there's a newer build than the one mentioned there it's wing-linux-0.4pre2.cab. And the suitable kernel for that build is supposed to be the pre2 posted in this post but it didn't work on my Opal so I tried the older Gene kernel and it worked. The main difference between the two is bluetooth support, and that's obviously is of no use for us.
This doesn't effect the Windows rom, nor does it requires any special partitioning. Still it's best to have everything backed up before launching it, just in case.
This is the official site for the wing/herald build:
http://wing-linux.sf.net/
This thread on their forums about the Gene port will probably be of use to us:
http://sourceforge.net/apps/phpbb/wing-linux/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4
I'm reading about the next steps but as I said before, I don't have any previous experience or knowledge about this type of things. If someone can give me hand, I would be more than grateful. At any rate, once I have better understanding of the concept I'll contact the people behind the Wing and the Gene ports.
P.S: If you do try to run this, keep in mind that this will take lots of time, specially for the first launch. And when you get an error saying something like "android sh: can't access tty" just ignore it and keep waiting. After a while you'll have a flashing "android" on the screen, and after some more waiting you'll reach the main screen.

i've not tried it yet, but the touchscreen drivers and buttons are not working. if anyone could help build a android kernel for the opal, it would be extremly great!
This thread will be used for future android builds for the opal.
It is possible "Android" in this mobile ????
I would like install to
no, i don't think you can install, but you can boot it from haret. i'm not sure too how to boot it though, trying to find a way.
okay i tried reached till ANDROID boot screen struck waiting for fone to respond.. responded now struck on power off screen..
nothing happens powering offffff strucks.. any way it worked half way.. now i have hope one day will run android on opal
If the Opal is based on the Omap850 chipset, anyone care to try the Wing-linux project on their phones? It's Android ported (or in the process of being ported) to the Wing/Herald. The keys won't be mapped to your phones but I wonder if it will actually boot all the way to the Android desktop. (Btw, the first boot takes a long time to finish.)
would love to try android!!

At any rate, the main thread is here:

I would appreciate any help because, at the moment, I seem to be the only Opal owner working on the port. And I lack the experience.
I was working on modifying the kernel so that the touchscreen would work but I ran into some problems and I've been too busy during the last week to do anything concerning this project.
i'll be happy if anyone could post links to videos showing android running on our HTC touch viva
I got Android CupCake installed and working on my HTC Opal a few weeks back using the WingLinux.
Keys are not mapped and Android is not fully functional but never the less, its android 1.6 on your viva...u can chk da pic off my facebook album, i dnt wanna upload'em again:

what is special in android which make it different from windows? How it connect to windows pc and linux?
Hello friends,
Sorry if posted in wrong section.
Well I wanted to install android on my HTC -3470.
Currently it has 6.1 Windows Mobile.
I read tutorial over here androidonhtc dot com (Sorry i m not allowed to post links, so i wrote it this way)
It says -
Requirements for ANDROID: Android will only work if on Windows Mobile 6.1 + HTC Touch Cruise, etc.
So far i think it android should work.
How can i start then ?
No ones ready to answer the question.
any problem with question ?
Hi, checkout this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=494991

It's actually in developpement, and not usuable every day (sound from speaker not integrated, simlock bugs, no bluetooth, no battery info ... ) but you can try and help the project.

The information is long long ago
Good evening or morning.
I hope I am right with this thread here.
Recently I purchased a Samsung i900 Omnia with WM 6.5 that was totally unstable, wireless does not work, I had Windows Media Player skins also never gave me permission to send text messages, so I decided to try to go back to WM 6.1, so I downloaded 1.6.4 Grand Prix, plus other programs that require Loader, PDA, CSC, LANGUAGE.
And I tried to do telefonu I managed not to pass the boot image with that logo Samsung Omnia.
I support in my country because no one helps.
If I can give a helping hand with a tutorial, or files WM 6.1 or 6.5 PTR perfect I would be grateful.
I'm not a noob in this area I had a WM HTC Touch Cruise
Added as a laptop and Windows Seven.
Thank you very nice.
Sorry for bad English !!!1
So
I have Omnia i900 too. I think you should follow Modaco.com, because here on xda is no Omnia thread, I think here is it more about HTCs. Here is the link to the official thread for Omnia i900 http://windows.modaco.com/forum/342-i9x0-omnia-httpomniamodacocom/
It is in english, but you can use Google translator.
There are many ROMs for Omnia, so you can choose. There are so many tutorials, they are in pinned section.
If you have any questions, send me a message.
