Hi i have rooted my wildfire from 2.1 to 2.2 froyo and since i've make this, when i charge with the phone off, the phone freezes: the phone will not turn on and the green led is not seen but only red led which remains on. I am forced to remove the battery every time I turn on the phone after charging.
How can i fix this? I have also tried to flash other radio images, but without success.
Who can help me?
It is a known bug of clockworkmod and there is no fix as of now. This persists even in v3.x

actually try pressing the power button and trackpad button both at the same time, that might turn it on.

Did you already try to wipe your battery stats? It's in recovery > wipe > wipe battery stats.
As the title says I have a strange yet very annoying problem. I am running my HD2 with hyperdroid cm7 Nand build (from april 29th). The problem is that when my battery is deleted, as is the case now, and I put my hd2 in the charger it will automatically boot. I think this is due to a setting or something. However since booting drains energy faster than the hd2 charges, the phone will by turned of before it has completely booted. After a while it get's stuck in a pattern of starting to boot and turning of. I don't know why this is the case because I think my phone just used to boot fine before when connected to a charger.
So my questions are:
1. does anyone has a suggestion how to turn on the phone?
2. this automatic booting, can it be turned off?
3. Why is it actually happening?
Maybe it's a very stupid or obvious problem, but I hope someone can help me though.
Do you have installed MGLRD?, it's a Known fact, search in the forum for answer (I'm sorry, I'm with SD Builds and don't use MGLRD, so I can not help you anymore).
I had the same problem with some rom i used earlier. The only way i could solve the issue was to remove the battery and put it back, then I could insert the charger without the phone booting up. Charge it for a while and start it.
Hope this way works for u 2.

I guess this is what I used to do as well. However now, if I remove the battery and put it back in it keeps automatically booting. Also if I put the charger in the phone and then remove the battery same thing happens. But thanks for the help though.
I am currently using the same ROM via MGLRD. Because of MGLRD, it will always turn on the phone from off when you plug your phone in. This is a known feature of MGLRD to preserve the battery. Checking just now, I turned my phone off, plugged in my charger and the phone automatically booted itself then the lockscreen came on then turned itself off after one minute. This is the cycle I see every time I charge my phone if it is off. I do not see it going into any boot cycle. What I see is after it goes through this, the orange LED light is on letting me know it is charging and will change to green when it is fully charged. Did you make sure before loading the ROM to do a complete wipe before installing? Usually most of the problems are associated due to not doing a complete wipe prior to loading a new ROM.

Well, this cycle I think is caused by the fact that the charger is not strong enough. Normally if plugged in the phone would just boot. The reason that it fails to boot is that is doesn't have enough power to complete the boot cycle even though the phone is plugged in (don't know if booting consumes a lot of power?).
A month ago I bought a new usb cable. Maybe that's where the problem lies? Because I have been using the hyperdroid rom for a while now. Although I don't know if one cable can be stronger than the other.
I have found a solution btw: Though it is a bit hit and miss cause it didn't work a few hours ago. When booting I let it go into mgldr and let it charge there. After a while I'll let it boot when it has enough power to complete the boot.

Humm, now you making me think lol, the 1st time I installed Android on my HTC HD2 was the NexusHd2 rom one and he had the same problem, no battery but once I plug it to the wall charger it would do the full(normal)boot, I thought was the rom so I changed to Hyperdroid Cm7, but, still does the same..
The wipe you talking is the one, wipe data/cache right?
if it happens to you a lot, I think it's time to invest in a third-party battery charger. you can charge it out of the phone for a bit, and then you're safe to put it back in a continue charging using the phone
Tried some different roms and all them do the same.. so I reckon its normal.. Thank You.
I can't turn my phone off. When I select Power off, it restarts. If i removed the battery, as long as i put the battery back, the phone automatic turn on. I did full wipe, formated the sd card, re flashed the rom ... same thing happened. I tried other roms and still have the same prob. I restored the stock rom, the prob went away . Does anyone know how to fix this prob? thanks.

i posted the fix for this issue in my MIUI thread, for i suffered from this as well.. I have since pulled my battery for over night and when putting the battery back in the phone stayed off.. and i can now turn it off without it rebooting... so to fix: PULL THE BATTERY WHILE YOU SLEEP!
Yup I saw ur post and I also tried your trick but not works

If u pulled ur battery for the entire night and and it didn't fix the issue, then u have a hardware defect and will need a replacement device..

gee... yeah ... but the prob is when I flashed back the stock rom, everything working normally ... so I really don't know what the problem is
your guys' definition of "for the night" might differ a bit. my definition would be 4 hours lol. How long did you leave the battery out for?
Last time it was out for around 5 hrs. I'll double it this time. Will plug it back in when I came to work and see
edit: Thanks Thederekjay. After more than 10 hrs, I plugged it back in and the phone stayed off.... yeah. now it works ....I can turn it off .... horrrayyyy

Nice yeah it took a lot of trial and error.. couldn't for the life of me figure it.out... that was my last resort before exchanging, just glad that issue is solved...

leaving the battery out does absolutely nothing for you electronically. pulling the battery and holding the power button for 5 seconds is the same thing. it'll pull the littlest bit of juice out of your phones electronics boards and capacitors.

get into recovery and try a cache wipe to start. if that doesn't work, do a factory reset. have you backed up your apps or anything? doing a factory reset will wipe your data and you'll lose all apps, settings, everything, but it will take the tab back to "out-of-the-box" setup.

What happened to cause this? Did you let it drain down to zero? Did it go from 50% to 0% at once?
More details please on what led you to this point.

Plug into wall charger, turn tablet off, let it charge for an hour and see if it boots back up.
Not USB, to weak.
And......you really should know better then to root and do intensive tasks with 13% battery. Just saying.

warrant replacement. call where you got it(google play, asus, other) and get a replacement. its a known issue. i had my replaced last month(google play store) because it stopped charging. they didnt give me a hastle, and sent a replacement out fast.
Have the same problem, battery is working good but looks likes battery sensor malfunction, so system doesn't know battery status!.
Don't know what is the effect of that for the battery life!.
Tried every thing to fix that.
Any way, the only solution is RMA, already called Google, and they agreed for a replacement.
So, don't wait, you got 15 days since you got it for a replacement.

I had this problem when I had the latest bootloader installed on my device, everytime I tried to charge it from (what it thought was) 0% the tablet would turn on and instantly turn off again because it had 0%.
I somehow managed to get it into fastboot and loaded the older bootloader (the one which won't let you into recovery without being connected to USB) and the tablet began to charge without turning itself on!
I left it to charge for about 2 hours, turned it on and it had enough juice in it to stay turned on and charge the rest of the way to 100%.
Not sure what the reason / cause of this was, my battery was at about 10% before it happened and it suddenly depleted to 0%!
Hope this helps!

my situation is different here, like this, I got my shipment at work, open the box, turned on the device, it's like 40%.
test it then put on the table for charge, take a look was in 98%..... after half hour it's 0% with on red battery icon.
Now sometimes battery work and I can see the "xx%", sometimes it stayed at 61% for 1 hour of use then jump to 42%!!
Sure something wrong with the battery sensor!.
This is a classic example what happens when people don't take the time to educate themselves on rooting their device. Anyone who owns a nexus device should know where to find factory images for both old and new firmware. And I always charge via USB and not AC. AC overheats my battery way too much. It can cause serious damage to your device.
Just saying
i am using the stock rom 7.1.1
occasionally the the phone shut down itself, i tried to start it, boot normally until reach the android logo just befor complete start, suddenly shut down until i plug it to the charger. alongside i started to see problem, that below 15% battery the battery drains fast
that didn't happened in the stock rom 6
note: i always connect my phone to the power unless i am out.
what do you think geeks?
