Not sure if this has been brought up yet, but it looks like ICS for Xoom is out there:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1443042
I used to run Virtuous XooM on my A500. Once there's a system dump of this ICS, could it be possible we'll see an ICS Virtuous Xoom for A500?
Will those camera files work with the iconia? I need camera, its the only reason i havent given thors ics rom a test drive yet.
Posted in development section as well.

Dear developers, I've decided to create a poll so people could vote.
I have been using Asus based Picasso rom, upgrading kernel from time to time. I'm still on 1.0.8 (Thor kernel) because IMHO its the best and most stable Tom around for my tablet.
I've tried xoom, galaxy, thrive and stock acer Rome but rolled back to this lovely Asus based one.
Moar = More
I chose "No" because in my opinion, Xoom is the best but I have not test the Thrive for the moment.
I'm still using the ROM mentioned above just because of browser sync, for example.

You do know you can inject the browser from your VP ROM into any other ROM before install correct?
I just went back to this rom after using xoom for a week, for me this is one Rom that I can live with whatever the issue is ( freezing when coming out of standby). M-Deejay said transformer will have its own Rom which is not under VP and it will be based on 3.2.
I actually loved the Asus based 1.0.8 and was torn between that and galaxy. I was rather annoyed when Asus base was dropped after 1.0.8. the Acer base 1.10 was very very quick and stable. When Asus based bombed out with unity v4 I just stuck with galaxy port. When Asus release 3.2 I am sure we will have another virtuous Picasso to play with. I did use Asus 1.0.8 with Thor beta 2 and yes it was electric. Still is and while awaiting galaxy update might use Asus base with Thor kernel again. Would be nice to see unity v9 for Asus base Picasso rom. Lol

I liked them for the fact you could use an asus based theme. Seeing as how themes are a bit lacking for our beloved acer, it's a nice option.

That's exactly what I'm talking about! Vote please, maybe some developers might pay some more attention to Asus based ROM.
Asus base was the first thing I flashed when I got my a500. Had a very good experience with it, before experimenting with other roms.

+1 For Asus rom!
Is ASUS based rom fully compatible with ACER material ?
I want to change rom because I have problem when I put my tablet (still in 3.0) in sleep mode and come back.

Hello, I have heard a lot of good things about asus 1.0.8. Could someone post the link to get this ROM? Much appreciated, and keep up the great work!

I don't have the update.zip saved anywhere unfortunately, because I deleted the image after flashing. I've got it installed and running though, also made a backup to roll back if I don't like any new rom.
Maybe you might PM mDj to send u a link.

True. I'm also using Thor's kernel 1.1: epic combo IMHO.
I'm glad somebody decided to do a poll like this. I'm hoping to get an Iconia in the next month or so, but I would really like a Transformer port and I can't seem to find one here. I've played with the Thrive, XOOM, and Galaxy, but I really like the elements included in the Transformer more (widgets, ice cube, and office app to name a few). Hopefully when I can finally get my hands on one, an option will present itself.

With the Asus 3.2 out today we will hopefully have a new Asus Picasso to play with. Mdj hinted that when new stuff is released we will get updates.

Moving to General.
PS: Every Q? thread should be posted in General.
Should we do a factory reset before performing the update to the ICS?
Prime users are experiencing reboots and locks:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1437392
I will be waiting until Revolver has a new ROM created from ICS. Then factory reset it, and start over with the new ROM. Fresh and ready to go.

Same for me.

you guys cant possibly think ics will be in revolver soon, ics is a whole different os which has different system files and behaves differently.
getting all the optimizations from 3.2 to 4.0 will take a while and that is if the tweaks work on ics.

Yeah I imagine it will take a while for us to see a revolver ICS ROM released. Honeycomb is still new to me as I got my TF101 for christmas and my nexus one still rocks gingerbread. To me, so far, honeycomb feels like what I think ICS will feel like. I guess I'll know for sure when I get my Galaxy Nexus next week...

Having both Honeycomb and ICS (with previous experience with Donut, Eclair, Froyo, and Gingerbread), I'd have to say that ICS has the best parts of all of them, a lot of the looks from Honeycomb, but with the feel that you wished Honeycomb would have had. Then shoot that full of steroids and add a slice of pie = ICS.
I'm hoping soon after ICS is released for the TF we will see a flasble stock Rom that will not remove root.then we can play with that while waiting for ICS on KRAKD
DESIRE HD using ER3BUS ASUS TRANSFORMER on KRAKD
I'm super excited for ICS, but i don't know the best method to go back to stock and keep root. I'm too antsy to wait until a custom rom is built, but i also don't want to forgeit the option of using TB to recover all my applications and game saves. What's everyone's thoughts on this?
You know that the TF is NOT going to get ICS on the 12th, the statement from Asus says the PRIME gets ICS. Asus has made no statement that I have found for a release date to the TF. IMHO it does not make good business since to relase it to the TF until the hype has gone away from the release of the PRIME and the update of ICS.

Asus actually said "are you referring to TF101? If so, it will be getting the update as well tomorrow. Thanks."
Seems pretty definitive to me.
Deerkiller if you look again, they are stating after Jan 12

sounds good in theory, but dont we have enough ics roms without functioning cameras? I dont think being cm9 makes it any better than any other non fully functional rom.
Some simply like the CM-specific options better. I tried Virtuous ICS on my G2, but had a panic attack simply because I did have my status bar toggle buttons any more lol
with the new leaked ics wouldnt it be easy to port cm9 to a500?
this would be just awesome. i love cyanogenmod!
If nothing else, at least it would be GPL compliant...

Since the Honeycomb source was released when ICS source was released, is it possible to port Honeycomb to other tablets like the Kindle? I realize ICS is newer and more desirable, just wondering if its even possible or has been attempted already. Thanks
Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire using xda premium
There are plenty of tablets running Honeycomb in their stock ROMs, the Motorola Xoom for instance. A Honeycomb ROM is entirely possible, there just doesn't seem to be much of an interest.
Yeah, I have a Toshiba Thrive with HC, just wondering if its possible to port. ICS is awesome on my kindle and on my Inspire, but Honeycomb just seems like a perfect tablet OS to me and I think would be perfect on my Kindle.
Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire using xda premium
It's definitely possible but the devs have been laser-focused on CM9
Well I guess its as perfect time as ever to learn how to compile from source then
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
Why don't you try and Theme one of the CM9 ROMs with Honeycomb, themeing is a easy skill to learn.
I personally don't have any interest in HoneyComb, ICS is superior and has a much cleaner look.
Yeah its possible but I think before they start with honeycomb they should finish ics. Once hardware accelaration is working and they get a 3.x kernel it should be easy to get hc to work as well.... don't know why u would want it tho pics is much more polished
I am looking to over clock my a500 with the flexreaper rom. I have searched for kernels time and time again and all I can find is working for HC not ics.

Not at this time. It requires Acer to release kernel source which I don't believe they have yet. Then, the Devs will have to work with it.
I'm sure it will happen soon though. Acer started to release ICS Official updates to the 500, but stopped after 2 days as it was bricking a lot of tablets.
Your best bet, is Civato's "tweaked" kernel. Isn't OC'd, but gives better performance.
