Hey,
i've installed cm9 and i changed the lcd density with a program from the market. But now, Trebuchet force closes. So i can't open the lcd density changer app to revert the density to 160. I've tried a factory reset, but that did not solve the problem.
As i can't open any apps right now, i can't use ROM manager to boot into recovery. (it's deleted by the factory reset anyways). So i have to boot into recovery using a key combination, but i can't find the correct combination. I've searched and tried all methods i found, but all to no avail.
So (sorry for the long intro), what's the key combination i have to use to boot into recovery?
any help is greatly appreciated
Vol down + N on power up gets you to boot manager, select boot into recovery and you should be good to go.
ok, i've managed to get into the boot menu, but now i see:
boot device: eMMC or SD
Boot Mode: Normal (uImage/Ramdisk) or Alternate
what do i select to get into recovery?
Change to Boot Mode: Recovery (uRecImg/UrecRam)
The other option is to boot to the OS, sideload another launcher to see if the density settings will work with it.

So I was rooted with Clockword recovery. I just updated rom manager to 3.0.0.0 and flashed the new recovery image with it. Through the UI, I tried to do a backup but when the phone restarted, it was stuck at the fastboot screen. I tried to manually go into Recovery, but the screen goes black -> google -> fastboot. Tried to turn it off and hold volume ^ + power = fastboot but still can't get into recovery.
Advice?

As long as you can still get into fastboot you should be recoverable. Head over the development section and grab a copy of the CWM 2 recovery image and try re-flashing it. That should at least put you back to where you can get into Recovery.
You could also try the stock recovery image in one of the threads there, but I've seen reports that it doesn't boot either.
Here's the thread for it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=875875
And here's the actual link from the first post: http://koush.tandtgaming.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-herring.img
I updated to 6.0.1.0 with Rom Manager (not touch). I can get into recovery via rom manager but not when booting. When I boot I hold down volume button and power on. Recovery is an option but when I choose it and press power button the Nexus just hangs and never goes into recovery. I end up holding down power button to reboot. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks!
no way yet from bootloader to CWM unless you plug the tab to a pc and execute fastboot boot nameofrecovery.img
From android OS, use ROM manager app as you already mentioned.

Thank you for reply. Very odd. I wonder if this will be resolved somehow. Does anyone run the touch version of CWM on the Nexus 7 and does it work normally from boot (without being plugged in)?

It's a problem with the bootloader, not CWM. Touch is no different, unfortunately.
Most custom ROMs have 'reboot to bootloader' built into the power menu, so no cables are needed
This happened to me as well, it was after i flashed a Tablet UI patch in cwm and it somehow deleted my boot options to reboot into recovery, rom manager will not allow me to reboot into recovery or any other options through the app on CleanRom rom * must do it through Rom boot options >.<
My device is rooted. I tried installing clockwork but no image for my device. I tried installing TWRP but nothing happens when I reboot. I can't reboot into clockwork recovery mode or TWRP. Both immediately reboot to the LG screen after 1 second of the android. What am I doing wrong?
Hey,
Try this if the recovery is really installed (FOR SURE IF RECOVERY IS INSTALLED):
Shut down the phone and Hold the power button + volume down button until the LG image appears. Once it does let go of the buttons then immediately push and hold them again until recovery boots.
If not then

Hit thanks if this helped you.
are u using stock rom with root?
if so then the reboot option will always only reboot the phone, not reboot to recovery of choice.
try third party app that has option to reboot to recovery like Goo Manager :good:

Try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2584938 I had the same problem and I found the flashify method to be the quickest and easiest
I tried flashing ClockworkMod Recovery using ROM Manager to a device and then I used ROM Managers "reboot into recovery" option to launch recovery. Unfortunately it seems the flashing of the new recovery was unsuccessful in some way despite ROM Manager reporting otherwise. Thus the device now tries to boot into recovery, fails and then tries to boot into recovery again.
Is there an easy way to make the device boot normally to android so that the recovery can be fixed?
Flash stock recovery via download mode
I tried this, the problem is I can't get it to boot into download mode since even when holding volume down, power and home it tries to boot into recovery.

Just hold them down regardless until it does. The 3 button combo will override any flags to boot to recovery.

Thanks, got everything running now.
So there is some strange problem with my d802. By the way its second had device... I ended up not being able to enter fastboot/download/mode or what ever it is called. I mean - i never could. Using ADB i can easily restart it to recovery, but when i restart to fastboot, it just restarts. When i use key combination - it just restarts. I rooted it and then used quick reboot app - again, if i try to restart it to fastboot - it just restarts. I used CWM rom manager app and installed CWM recovery, then tried to flash custom rom, and doing that it restarted to STOCK recovery as nothing were installed and I achieved nothing. What the hell is done to this lg device?? By the way if not adb tools or quick reboot app - i could not even reboot to stock recovery - also restarts with whatever key combinations i was able to find for d802 device.
You can try this:

Also you can check out the "Fixes"-section in the Index-Thread.
