Hi, I'm looking for a mode to make my omnia 7 vibrates and rings together because I don't like that it vibrates once then rings until I answer the call. I just found here in the forum some .xap for HTC devices and this reg value:
HKCU\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\Ring\RingerOnVibrateOn\
Script= "v0p"
but changing this value the phone refuse the call after three rings and it seems to be not the best solution. Do you know any way to solve that issue?
sounds like there is something wrong with the settings, try a hard reset, should fix your problems, but you will loose all your data. (pictures etc. can be backed up through zune)

Ok but I don't want to reinstall all apps. I think I'll remain with default settings.

There is a bug on my Qtec 2020(FW:166)-
when someone calls me no signal goes to my QTEC(But the beep signal goes from calling phone)-sometimes signal goes only at the end of the call, and i see a call as missed.
what is it :?:
It is difficult to say exactly what could be causing this kind of problem.
Might I suggest some troubleshooting tips?
1. Backup your device
2. Hard-Reset
3. Try some incoming calls to see if they work correctly.
4a. If 3 did not fix, try flashing your ROM with the newest version.
5a. If that solves your problem, re-install all of your programs and you are finished.
6a. If it does not solve your problem, you may have a hardware problem, contact the vendor.
4b. If 3 did fix your problem, re-install your programs one-at-a-time, giving time for testing between loading programs. Only after you have proven that call reception still works do you install the next program. In this way you determine if a program you have loaded is causing your problem.
HTH!
if I understood you correctly, you have a problem where the Incoming Call bubble doesn't show, not ringing sound when someone calls you. And sometimes, it takes like 5 seconds delay before it shows or rings?
i experienced this after installing some phone related software. i suspected that the system somehow is overloaded, and the memory is somehow insufficient to handle incoming call and notify you in time.
Do you have RingtoneX, PocketZenPhone, IA Caller ID, Caller2Picture, Cell Profiler ... etc installed? What are the phone related apps you have installed? Or perhaps, could you list what are in your \Windows\Startup, let us troubleshoot the culprit.

YES.YOU ARE RIGHT.
From your list i installed only POCKET ZEN PHONE(but i also had this problem before i'v installed PocketZenPhone).
WINDOWS/STARTUP:
AFlashMan
CFlashMan
CheckAutorun
ChgDflnk
IA_Caller_ID(MAYBE THIS IS BUG :?: -but i have not it ins.on my QTEC)
MMReg
NFlashMan
poutlook
stk
TFlashMan
GUYS,Please,help...
So,what causes the bug :?:
I am running PocketZenPhone also, and do not experience this problem.
Unfortunately, I still believe that a HR is the only way you can prove that the problem is caused by software you have installed and not the hardware. It sounds drastic, but you must start from a clean PPC and prove that it works, then figure out which software is causing the problem.
ok,i'll soon try it.
BUT i wanna hear from chriswo what to do,cos he got the same bug.
I've got a similar sort of bug, not sure what causes it though and its a pain,
I cant get the volume slider for the phone to stay above zero, i raise it and it beeps as i do it, and i close the volume control, open it againg and it back at the bottom, If i recieve an incomming call, all that happens is the screen flashes with the incomming call alert but no ringing tone at all?
how are the phone settings set ?
as in ring type ?
and how are the sounds and notifications settings
just checked them and they all appeared to be ok, but i wend back in and changed my ring tone and then tried to change it back and it said
'this ring tone is not working properly, You may want to choose a different one to use.'
Very strange, so i am now using oldphone as my ring tone and it is working perfectly!, looks like one of my ring tones has got corrupted somehow
I had the same problem also
Fix by HARD RESET.
At that time I try to test many Phone edition program. (on XDA 1 2002).
After that everytime when I try to install some new program, I'll backup my data first.
so,i still waiting for chriswo, cos he knows this sort of bug...
Hello,
Suddenly, I have lost all sound on my qtek 2020.
The system volume slider is on the lowest position and when I put it back on top, it goes back down.
Also when I try to play a ringtone a message appears saying: "The ringtone is not working properly".
I cannot hear the ring for incoming calls, or any other system sounds.
Can anyone help on this issue?
Thanks a lot
is the radiobutton in the slider dialog set to off ?
is it set to vibrate ?
how are the settings in sounds and notifications
did you try a softreset ?

If you have the Widcom stack go to the WIDCOM BT-manager Audio gateway tab and Disable this before uninstalling. Sound should then remain actve. Had the same problem
Very easy and simple fix!!, i had the same problem about a month ago and it took 3 weeks for me to find the solution,
click on start, then ultra profiler and untick the silent box and tick the normal one, select bluetooth as you want it, but make sure all the others are blank, tap the select button and its fixed !!
It seems that ultra profiler gets confused and forces the volume down from time to time for some unknown reason without you ever using it

I have not installed Ultra Profiler...
I yesterday made a hard reset of my device and installed it from scratch... Now it's working...
It seems BluetoothGPS is the faulty one, since after uninstalling all sounds are gone...
I followed instructions in this post to remove it but BluetoothGPS still shows in Remove programs section.
i havent installed ultraprofiler either, and i didnt want it because of this problem, but i comes preinstalled with the XDA2,
Maybe it isnt preinstalled on the Qtec version ??, not sure as i havent got one
just install bluetoothgps.cab again and all will be ok, i dont know the reson and appreciate if some one give a real solution.
whenever i click the recieve calls on my universal, i'll click the answer button.. and realize that it takes a lil longer for it to actually connect the call..
anyone here have the same problem here? any solutions??
tend to find it depends on:
1. THe phone skin you are using
2. Ring tone specific to each user
3. Caller id picture displays
4. Large ring tones
5. Other apps running simultaneously
6. How long since your last rom update
I think you will find that everydody experiences a 1 second to 2 second maximum delay
I am havin d same prob
Disable the skin on the dailer, and use a windows default ringtone. And a lot of free memory is always a plus
how to disable the dialer skin?
I believe it can be done here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Security/Phone/Skin
Then look for the DWORD "enabled" set it to 0
I am not sure about this though!!! You have to check google (like I did, and found this: http://www.buzzdev.net/index.php?option=com_simpleboard&Itemid=59&func=view&id=5075&catid=36
I have the same when I get a call, but I can live with that. My problem lately has been that when I get an incoming call my entire device freezes. I can press whichever button I like, but nothing works except a soft reset and then I would have missed the call. Has anyone else had this too? I hope it doesn't happen too often or else I send it off for repair (I pay insurance for a reason).

I have the same problem. When the MDA is open, everything works fine. But when the lid is closed, the mda freezes after an incoming call and softreset is the only solution. Any ideas about that?
Hey All
Anyone ever had a problem where, despite setting the phone to ring and vibrate, all it in fact does is vibrate. I've reset it to ring and vibrate, soft resetted, made sure the sound files actually work and even real basic stuff like making sure the system volume is on etc. As you can probably appreciate, I REALLY want to avoid a hard reset due to the large amount of configuration I've done so any suggestions would really be appreciated.
Thanks

Have you tried using one of the default ringtone files that came with the device, to rule out a problem with your sound files?
Where is your ringtone stored? Did you save it to the flash onboard or SD?
Guys, somebody shoot me, please..........
My Mrs had been fiddling with the phone and turned off the phone volume but not the system volume.
Sorry to waste your time......
A big problem. My phone works good , but after 4-5 calls or messages he just stop playing a ringtone and vibrate ... i search on settings when this problem is on and seems that he chaNge the ringtone by itself. To make him work again i need to reset or off - on... i reinstall windows but i have same problem.
Sorry about my english
Does the phone actually change the settings OR does it keep the correct settings but just stops ringing?

I am trying to decide if this is a software or a hardware fault.
A common problem is the rear speaker (used for the phone ring) becoming loose. It's fairly easy to push the connector firmly back in place, but perhaps you should test this first.
One way to test this would be to play some sound files (MP3s etc, at a time when the phone is refusing to ring. If you get no sound or poor quality sound, then I think the connector is loose.
Other problems like the phone going to default ringtonemay or may not be related to the problem. First, do the above test to be sure it's is or isn't a hardware fault.

Well that probably removes the possibility of a hardware fault.
I'm afraid I cannot think what else to try.
I assume it does this with all ringtones you choose?

Yes... i frequently change my ringtones
One thing left to try that I can think of is to flash a different ROM. Not the easiest thing to do though if you have never done it before.
Mike
your problem may just be the phone itself. My phone also quit ringing, and I found out that it would only play certain ringtones, even though all my ringtones were stock and came with the phone. For some reason, certain ringtones just quit working. By using the standard default ringtone, the phone works just fine.
